Chapter 299: What's wrong with Kobe and Magic?

Clippers fans still can't forget Griffin.

Griffin was the number one pick selected by the Clippers after all. His playing style was flashy, his play was explosive, and he was a beautiful landscape in the Clippers' paint. After Nowitzki joined the Clippers, his performance was mediocre, and his data was not as good as Griffin's in Dallas.

Many critics are saying that the Clippers made a stupid trade, short-sightedly burying the future.

Some people pushed Mike Brown to the front, saying that Mike Brown was the culprit, because he couldn't tolerate Griffin, so he traded for the elderly Nowitzki.

These voices became particularly harsh the day before the game started.

If others said Fan Xi, Fan Xi could endure it.

Just like Khloe Kardashian called Fan Xi, accusing him shrilly: "... Jack, this is your conspiracy. You let them go to Dallas together, you ruined my happiness, you destroyed my two men."

Fan Xi felt ridiculous.

He said to Khloe Kardashian.

"There are not only two NBA players in the world, you still have a large range of choices," Fan Xi suggested to Khloe.

Then, he hung up the phone.

Although he didn't know why Odom and Griffin suddenly became intimate, he was happy. Odom and Griffin both got rid of the trouble of women, and they were both getting better.

Kendall Jenner was a bit resentful, thinking she must have heard many complaints from her sister.

However, she still tended to Fan Xi's side in her heart. She said to Fan Xi, if Khloe continues to complain, you just pretend not to hear it.

Fan Xi had already handled it this way.

"Focus on Dirk in the next game."

Fan Xi said to Mike Brown: "It's time to let everyone know Dirk's true strength."

Brown fully agreed and supported this suggestion.

He had some private opinions about Griffin. He hoped that Nowitzki would kick Griffin's ass hard in the game and let him know why the flowers were so red.

The Lunar New Year is getting closer and closer. Fan Xi is now going to shoot various New Year blessing videos every day, from the NBA official, to local Chinese channels, to size TV stations in the country.

The New Year hasn't arrived yet, and Fan Xi has already paid a New Year's call.

When recording these New Year videos, someone always asks Fan Xi how to spend the New Year this year, whether to spend it with his family or with his teammates.

To be honest, Fan Xi has no plans at all.

He didn't even know whether he should buy some dumplings.

He hadn't discussed this with his teammates. His parents couldn't come over this year because of their busy work in the country. Lu Yuan also asked for leave early. His family is in New York, and he wants to go to New York to reunite with his big family.

Chen Ye also said he wanted to spend the first Lunar New Year in his life with his fiancée, Dr. Laisi.

Fan Xi was embarrassed to intervene in their feelings.

So, he always answered: We'll talk about it then.

The Spring Festival is undoubtedly the most important festival for Chinese people. When more and more red lanterns, various 'Fu' characters upside down, and some dragon and lion dance teams entered the stadium for training appeared at the Staples Center, Fan Xi felt more and more lonely.

Every festive season, I miss my loved ones even more.

The Clippers vs. Mavericks game made Staples full again. Although Americans don't celebrate the Spring Festival, this doesn't prevent them from treating this game as an appetizer for the Clippers vs. Lakers New Year battle.

After all, Griffin returned aggressively, and he must want to prove himself.

But before the game started, the atmosphere was not as tense as the media imagined. Nowitzki smiled and greeted his former teammates. His former teammates expressed understanding of Nowitzki's departure. Everyone knew what Dirk had paid for the Mavericks. Now he wants to pursue the Grand Champion, which is something everyone feels acceptable... He is not a peak group hug after all, he is not choosing publicly on TV, he was even passively sent to Los Angeles.

It was team owner Mark Cuban who achieved him.

"Dirk, if you lose to us in this game, it will be good to watch," Jason Terry joked with Nowitzki.

He and Fan Xi were the teammates who worked together for the longest time.

Nowitzki smiled.

On the other side, Fan Xi was also chatting with Griffin and Odom.

From their mouths, Fan Xi finally knew the reason and opportunity for Griffin and Odom to make up. It turned out that it was because Khloe had said a sentence to both of them: Except for the traces of use on the outside of a few centimeters, the inside is brand new.

People can't stand scrutiny. Once a lie is dismantled, everything else will be easily destroyed like a castle in the air.

Griffin woke up in time, and Odom also turned back.

Now, Griffin and Odom are very actively facing their basketball, and they both realize that as long as they play basketball well, they can find any kind of woman.

Where in the world is there no fragrant grass, why single-mindedly love a flower.

Beep!

The whistle sounded, and the game started.

The Clippers' starting players tonight are: Fan Xi, Hamilton, Leonard, Nowitzki, DeAndre Jordan.

The Mavericks' starting lineup is: Jason Terry, Jason Kidd, Deng Liwei, Griffin, Haywood.

DeAndre Jordan defeated Haywood in the jump ball.

Fan Xi brought the ball across the half-court.

Nowitzki quickly blocked Griffin at the left side of the free throw line. Fan Xi immediately passed the basketball in.

Subsequently, Fan Xi wandered quickly on the weak side, just like Kobe Bryant pulling out to play singles back then, and he wandered on one side.

If Fan Xi only acts as a second-in-command, or a 1.5-in-command, he is simply a top match.

But a second-in-command, a 1.5-in-command, cannot become a person standing at the peak.

This is not what Fan Xi hoped for.

Nowitzki played singles against Griffin, and the scene was very restless.

The German Heavenly King's handling was delicate and calm. He easily shook a jitter, shook out a bit of space for Griffin, probed his step inward, Griffin reflexively retreated, the Heavenly King's golden rooster independent... swish!

It went in very easily.

Nowitzki's axis foot didn't move throughout the whole process.

What he played was details, what he played was micro-manipulation.

Great skill is not work, wonderful to the peak.

This hand of probing step to golden rooster independent, twenty years of kung fu.

Griffin can't stop it.

Turning back, Griffin launched an attack. He caught Jason Kidd's pass, and he started to play singles with the ball from the free throw line.

Griffin and Kidd's cooperation is different from Kenyon Martin's. Kenyon Martin had no independent offensive ability at all, and the offense relied entirely on pick-and-roll with Kidd, or eating cake at the basket.

Griffin doesn't like pick-and-roll, he is more willing to show his ball-handling and face-to-the-basket singles.

Griffin's physical quality is very strong. After a quick change of direction, he used a more sensitive back turn to pass Nowitzki.

However, when he turned and jumped up to prepare for a dunk, DeAndre Jordan came face to face, and he opened his arms to block.

Griffin hurriedly pulled the rod in the air, turning the dunk into a layup... slap!

But he didn't expect a giant palm to shoot from behind... the basketball was shot down straight.

The person who chased the cap from behind was Leonard.

Fan Xi copied the basketball from one side. The three-person defense was natural, someone blocked from the front, someone blocked from behind, and someone copied the ball and counterattacked.

Flowing clouds and flowing water, done in one go.

Fan Xi rushed to the front court like lightning, developing his speed to the extreme.

One month after Nowitzki joined, Fan Xi once again showed his top-level counterattack ability in the league.

When Fan Xi doesn't stick to pick-and-roll, he is a sharp blade.

He easily cut through Terry's supplementary defense at the center line, killed into the restricted area like a broken bamboo, jumped up fiercely, swung his hands in the air, and it was a domineering windmill.

Boom!

Fan Xi smashed the basketball heavily into the basket.

At this time, the closest person to him in the Mavericks was Terry, who had just chased into the three-point line by one step.

In the current league, Miami's defensive counterattack speed is the fastest.

But if you want to distinguish a second, the Clippers will be duty-bound.

Thunder's Westbrook, Bulls' Rose, they are all fast, but defensive counterattack is not just fast.

Fan Xi raised his hands high in the cheers of the audience, enjoying the prestige of the Duke of the City of Angels.

Magic Johnson was still sitting in a corner of the stadium. He was more and more worried now.

Nowitzki's super offensive ability, he is not afraid.

Fan Xi's super tearing ability, he is not so afraid either.

What he is afraid of is... Fan Xi really learned all of Stockton's pick-and-roll techniques. Because, once Fan Xi and Nowitzki produce powerful interaction ability, they will truly become an offensive combination with no dead ends.

This is too terrifying.

When the trade happened before, people said the Clippers would become a championship favorite. Magic Johnson was not so nervous yet, because he knew that the running-in of two offensive powerhouses is difficult.

However, when Fan Xi kept polishing the simplest pick-and-roll, kept polishing, and even found Stockton, this first point guard in history really panicked.

Magic Johnson is one of the few superstars who understands the essence of basketball. His historical ranking is always in the top five of the NBA. Before Michael Jordan appeared, he was the greatest outside player in history and also the most powerful black sports star.

However, when Magic Johnson was worried and afraid.

John Stockton, the white guard with the most assists in history, breathed a sigh of relief. He said to his daughter: "Look, this is the Jack we are familiar with. He is not the same type of player as Dad. He doesn't need to learn Dad's plain and unadorned passing techniques. He should kill all sides!"

Stockton explained to his daughter: "He is already a superstar."

Stockton's little daughter curled her lips. As Fan Xi's die-hard fan, she thought Dad just didn't want to teach, didn't want Jack to surpass his assist data, it was jealousy.

Stockton was angry and funny. Girls are outgoing. "Silly child, how could I worry about this? Although Jack has about 10 assists per game now, he is really too far away from Dad. The NBA will never have any point guard who can surpass my assist number."

Stockton's total assists and total steals are the first in the league, and they are considered the most difficult records to be surpassed in the NBA. Even if Jabbar's scoring record is broken, these two cannot be broken.

So, Stockton said his little daughter was a silly child.

Stockton stood up afterwards and walked to the study on the second floor. He needed to be quiet for a while.

For him, this game lost suspense.

He never felt that the Mavericks could be compared with the Clippers, as long as the Clippers returned to their normal mode and no longer forced pick-and-roll.

Fan Xi listened to his advice.

"Hope this guy understands the gap between him and me, he should grasp his advantages."

Stockton said quietly in his heart.

The game on the court continued.

Just as Stockton guessed, as long as Fan Xi returned to the state of killing all sides, as long as Nowitzki still played singles in his sweet spot, they didn't need any pick-and-roll at all, because they were masters of ball-handling offense themselves.

Nowitzki's shooting is basically full level.

Fan Xi's breakthrough ability is also top-notch in the league, and his finishing ability at the basket is also quite strong.

So, why do you have to play run-and-gun at this time?

Stockton doesn't understand this truth.

Therefore, even if his assist number is the first in history, he can't be the first point guard in history.

Magic has been like an ant on a hot pot for a long time.

He is too afraid.

But in this game, Fan Xi only played 5 pick-and-rolls with Nowitzki in total, which is pitifully small.

Usually, scouts see this picture and will make judgments according to inertial thinking: the Clippers may have pulled out of the bad pick-and-roll attempt.

But, Magic doesn't think so.

On the contrary, because he knows Fan Xi too well, his judgment is: Jack is very likely to have mastered the essence of pick-and-roll from Stockton.

Therefore, he deliberately didn't use it in this game, and even if he used it, he deliberately showed weakness, just to paralyze the Lakers.

Otherwise, how to explain Stockton's hurried departure?

Otherwise, how to explain that Jack didn't use it tonight?

Jack is a god-like Chinese. Chinese people don't like to show off. They like to hide their clumsiness. Even if they can kill you with one fist, they will show weakness before the shot, until finally destroying you from the moral high ground.

"I know Jack too well, we must be prepared. The Clippers are powerful again."

Magic Johnson sent a message to D'Antoni after the game.

D'Antoni hurriedly asked for the video of this game, 129:101.

The Clippers won a big victory.

Looking only at the score, D'Antoni thought the Clippers might have truly found the secret to the pick-and-roll.

However, after watching the game, he was completely confused: How did Magic see that Fan Xi had already mastered the mysteries of the pick-and-roll from this game?

Fan Xi didn't run a single pick-and-roll at all.

He and Nowitzki were more like they were running a triangle offense; they each launched attacks in their respective areas of expertise, which had nothing to do with the pick-and-roll.

He found it strange, so he asked Kobe Bryant to watch the game with him.

After watching the video, Kobe also slapped his thigh and shouted: "Oh no, Jack must have mastered the pick-and-roll technique."

D'Antoni widened his eyes; he truly hadn't seen it at all.

What is wrong with Kobe and Magic? Is it PTSD?

"This game must be a drill for their pick-and-roll plan."

Kobe said.

D'Antoni was skeptical, but a new problem arose: "How do we drill it? There isn't a single bit of targeted video footage."

…
