Chapter 309: All-Star Weekend, Big Temple Fair

Fan Xi felt that the All-Star Weekend was like a large temple fair when he was a child, with people coming and going, very lively.

For superstars, the All-Star Weekend is rushing from one event to another, and participating in many parties held by brands or other superstars in between.

Therefore, Fan Xi didn't participate in the Rookie Game, although he was now a standard second-year student.

Before, the media was still hyping Fan Xi and Jeremy Lin. In February, the substitute Chinese-American player Lin signed by New York suddenly broke out. Seven games swept the entire league and even the world, causing a shock in the entire basketball world.

Thanks to the Son of Miracle name Fan Xi had previously established, this Chinese-American guard with the same position, same skin color, and even similar height quickly became famous, and his popularity once soared to the superstar level. Major American media called this phenomenon "Linsanity."

He also logically got the opportunity to enter the Rookie Game.

The media wanted to see Fan Xi duel with him.

In addition, this year's number one pick Kyrie Irving also wanted to compete with Fan Xi. Because Fan Xi had always been saying that the best rookie in 2011 was Leonard, which made Kyrie Irving very unhappy.

"I respect Jack very much, he is one of my idols, but I want to beat him. I think my ball control is better than his, my shooting is better than his, and my passing is better than his."

Kyrie Irving still had such rhetoric even when he arrived at the All-Star Weekend.

However, Fan Xi didn't respond to him.

Although Fan Xi was a second-year student, he didn't want to fight with the little brat in the first year anymore; it was meaningless.

Jimmy Butler helped Fan Xi retort: "Since you are better than Jack in this and better than Jack in that, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and lead Cleveland to the championship, instead of competing for the 2012 number one pick."

Butler wasn't good at sarcasm; he was just serious.

Sometimes, serious words are the most hurtful.

The All-Star Rookie Game was on the first day of the All-Star Weekend. This year it was divided into Chuck Team and Shaq Team, that is, Barkley Team and O'Neal Team. The NBA is full of tricks in attracting fans' attention, and O'Neal and Barkley, who are good at making trouble, are very good at creating traffic.

Fan Xi went to watch the game, he refused Michael Jordan's party.

He wasn't keen on socializing, he felt it was troublesome, although many people thought it was a very face-saving thing to have many celebrities there.

And, what could you do there?

The media said Fan Xi didn't go because Kobe and Paul attended Jordan's party. As a rival in the same city in Los Angeles, the relationship between Fan Xi and Kobe had completely broken down privately.

Rumors caught by the wind and shadows were circulating everywhere.

Just like the noise in the temple fair.

Linsanity's performance in the All-Star Rookie Game wasn't very good, he only got 2 points. The protagonists of the night were Leonard and Butler.

They went up and played for real, clicking and grabbing the second-year students for a fat beating. The two cooperated very tacitly, standing from the defensive end, injecting iron-blooded defense into the happy and peaceful atmosphere.

Finally, Leonard raised the Rookie Game MVP trophy.

He got 19 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 steals, and 3 blocks in the whole game. This data proved his efforts on the defensive end and also made the second-year guards complain endlessly.

Are these two here to play the playoffs?

Anyway, they won.

Leonard and Butler were the absolute double feet of Los Angeles. Although their overall data wasn't as eye-catching as Kyrie Irving's, this year's best rookie lineup must have their positions.

Moreover, no matter how picky and questioning the critics were about Fan Xi, when facing who was the best player in the 2011 class between Leonard and Irving, they would all waver.

Leonard had already shown the potential of an excellent swingman. His talent on the defensive end was visible to the naked eye. In Fan Xi's words: Leonard would definitely become the greatest perimeter defender in history.

Fan Xi never lacked praise for Leonard, and he also believed that Leonard would definitely become a superstar and a player in the top ten of the league.

He constantly praised this introverted forward in the media and gave him more direct affirmation.

It was the opposite for Butler. This was a person with a strong personality. Fan Xi rarely praised him in public, but in terms of ball usage and playing time, they were about the same, without favoring one over the other. Fan Xi often said to Butler: "If you don't change this shortcoming, you will never become a superstar."

Butler was a tenacious person who could withstand blows.

A boy abandoned by his biological mother, what else could he not bear?

Butler and Leonard made rapid progress.

They were already at the level of elite players. According to this trend, when they finished their rookie contract, the Clippers must offer them a maximum salary contract.

Yao Ming commented on Fan Xi, saying that Fan Xi was a monkey with a way of tying it.

Teach students in accordance with their aptitude.

After the Rookie Game ended, Fan Xi was invited by the media to take a photo with Jeremy Lin.

Fan Xi's existence was a great encouragement to Jeremy Lin and others. He proved that Chinese point guards could also make a name for themselves in the NBA and climb to the top.

"He is a very good point guard, he is very smart, he can have more ball possession. If I were Phil Jackson, I would make him the organizational core. You know, now Carmelo is in injury recovery, the Knicks' perimeter needs a ball-holding core, which is a great help to Stoudemire."

Fan Xi said to the media.

His words, Phil Jackson could definitely listen to some.

After all, Phil Jackson had coached for so many years, and the only rookie he fed like his own son was Fan Xi.

Zen Master had always disliked rookies. He was like a man who was only keen on young women, always liking to touch famous superstars.

But Fan Xi was an exception. Phil Jackson was meticulous to Fan Xi last season, giving him unprecedented trust and freedom in the tactical end. It could be said that without Phil Jackson, if any other head coach came, Fan Xi couldn't create a miracle.

So there wouldn't be everything today.

Fan Xi's words would help Jeremy Lin from many dimensions. Even if he didn't perform as brilliantly as he was now, after being targeted by other teams, his situation would become difficult. But the team would definitely give him greater trust and patience.

Many times, a little more patience and trust can change many things.

…

On the second day of the All-Star Weekend, except for shooting three commercials, Fan Xi stayed in the room for the rest of the time. He chatted with Derrick Rose for a while, and discussed the feasibility of guards grabbing rebounds and pushing fast breaks with Westbrook.

He didn't think about going anywhere to show off.

However, some trouble still found him.

This year's NBA halftime show guests were the famous rapper Lil Wayne and his label's female rapper Nicki Minaj.

Lil Wayne is a legend in the American rap circle, and his status is very high. He and Kanye West seem to have some beef recently. The reason for the beef is that Kanye West has been bragging about owning 5% of the Clippers' shares, and he says this on almost every occasion.

His showing off made Lil Wayne complain.

Originally, it was just a joke.

However, Kanye West returned a diss, which made the relationship between the two directly stiff.

The relationship between American rappers is very complex and even carries a bit of violence, or rather, to some extent, rap evolved from violence.

Fan Xi never thought he would get involved in this kind of thing.

However, Lil Wayne told the media: "I think Jack Fan is useless. He hypes himself every day, and he makes himself look like he is being chased by thousands of women every day. I don't like him, although he succeeded. If the Lakers give me a chance to let me acquire 5% of their shares, I will let the Clippers be easily destroyed. I have my own way, I am too good at keeping a team competitive and media attention."

The rap circle legend spoke with rhythm.

"I don't like Jack. I only like men with big things, hahahahaha!" Nicki Minaj's boldness is well known, and she also talked about Fan Xi.

When Fan Xi saw the media report in the evening, he felt very bored.

He didn't want to pay attention to this kind of dog-shit thing.

However, Kanye West shouted across the air in Los Angeles. He typed on the computer and @Lil Wayne on social media: "Wait until you buy Lakers shares before talking. You don't have this financial power at all, and the Lakers can't listen to you. Most importantly, how could you beat me?"

Foreign stars are like this, they don't play any palace heart schemes, and their dislike is all on their faces. This is why the European and American entertainment industry is always so lively.

It seems that there is no peace in their culture.

Then, Lil Wayne posted his diamond necklace on the social network, as well as a limited edition watch, and the watch was also inlaid with diamonds.

Fan Xi felt this was too childish.

But this is the daily life of American black people after getting rich. They just like piles of cash, modified shiny luxury cars, diamond-encrusted platinum necklaces, exaggerated gold jewelry, and some messy things.

Fan Xi didn't have a deep understanding of this consumption concept and investment philosophy, but he would never do this.

…

On the morning of All-Star Sunday, the Western team conducted promotional photo shooting and some joint training.

Because the Lakers were at the top of the Western Conference, this year's All-Star head coach was D'Antoni.

The starting list for this year's Western All-Stars is: Kobe Bryant, Fan Xi, Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant.

Substitutes: Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love (replacing Nowitzki), Marc Gasol, Tony Parker, Chris Paul, Aldridge, Zach Randolph.

The starting list for the Eastern team is: Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Stoudemire, Joakim Noah.

Substitute players: Chris Bosh, Deron Williams, Rajon Rondo, Hibbert, Pierce, Andrew Bynum.

This year's All-Star Game is hailed as a session of handover between the old and the new, because the rulers of the previous era, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal, Kevin Garnett, Steve Nash, including Nowitzki, were not selected.

The superstars of the same era as them only had Kobe Bryant and Paul Pierce left.

The media generally believed that the NBA ushered in the era belonging to LeBron James and this batch of middle-aged people.

However, unexpected things happened in the environment of the group photo.

Kobe Bryant, who was described by the media as having a bad relationship, suddenly handed the flower ball to Fan Xi when taking pictures.

This is an unwritten rule of the NBA.

When Eastern and Western players take group photos separately, there will be one player holding the ball, sometimes two.

In general, whoever gets that flower ball in the group photo means he is the signature star in this All-Star team.

On the Eastern side, LeBron James is the well-deserved ball holder.

On the Western side, Kobe taking the ball is without any doubt. He is the signature of the league.

But Kobe suddenly handed the ball to Fan Xi.

This made many people feel strange.

Including Fan Xi.

"You helped me get the second three-peat, this is the flower ball I gave you."

Kobe Bryant joked with a smile: "In the future, we don't owe each other anything."

Fan Xi raised his eyebrows, he took the flower ball, he stood naturally in the middle C position, accepting the media's photo.

These photos soon spread through the media, and its spread speed was very amazing.

Fan Xi became the Western C position, meaning he was one step closer to the league's signature superstar.

"It seems that Kobe still loves you."

After the group photo, Kevin Durant walked behind Fan Xi like a ghost, and he said to Fan Xi: "He is too good to you, he gave you the most prominent opportunity. I originally thought he would hand the ball to me."

Fan Xi rolled his eyes at him: "You are too tall. Not suitable for standing in the middle."

Subsequently, D'Antoni directed the team to conduct some routine joint training.

Simply walked a few tactics.

Basically, the All-Star Game won't be played for real, and no one can afford to get hurt.

Mostly just going through the motions.

However, Howard was quite serious today, and the idea of wanting to win the MVP was written on his face. This was where his professional career started, although Orlando fans hated his betrayal and burned his jersey.

But he still wanted to win an All-Star trophy here.

He wanted to draw a beautiful period in the Amway Center.

This is human nature.

So, when Howard ran over and told Fan Xi about this, Fan Xi agreed immediately, saying he would pass more to Howard.

Although they were the biggest competitors in Los Angeles, Fan Xi didn't mind helping Howard.

After all, this is just entertainment.

During training, Fan Xi and Westbrook played one-on-one. Westbrook's impact was very strong, and Fan Xi was not weak. The two played inextricably until Derrick Rose ran over and said, why don't we three play together.

Fan Xi and Westbrook shook their heads and refused at the same time.

Derrick Rose has become more terrifying since he recovered from his injury, and his control over his body has reached the point of being able to retract and release freely. But in terms of breakthrough, Fan Xi thinks Rose might already be the league's number one, Westbrook is fierce but lacks spirituality.

Fan Xi's self-evaluation is... not yet reached the complete body of personal state.

Although Fan Xi has reached the top level in many hard talents and can easily tear apart the opponent's defensive line in actual combat, many invisible talents are still a little bit behind these monsters.

This is why he will suffer in one-on-one.

Fortunately, the proportion of one-on-one in actual combat is not large.
