Chapter 241: Brother Giant Sea Turtle, it really is you
Ye Guowei and Xiao Hu had already put their things away; if it weren't for Wang Defa still standing on the boat, the three of them would have really already set off.
Well then, since we're from the same village and you usually look after Xiao Hu like this, I'll quote a price— the lowest is 38,000, I can't go lower.
Hearing the price of 38,000, Xiao Hu spat out a mouthful of water and stared speechlessly at his second uncle.
"Second Uncle, what's this? Taking care of me is only worth 2,000 bucks?"
"Ah, Uncle is discussing business, kid, don't speak." Wang Defa waved his hand, signaling Xiao Hu to shut up— this is about money.
Ye Cheng also waved his hand, indicating Wang Defa should go down: "Second Uncle, your price lacks sincerity— hurry up and get lost, we're heading out to sea."
Wang Defa still refused to leave, so Ye Cheng picked him up and put him back on shore, then gestured for Ye Guowei to start the boat.
"No, Lao Er, you're still haggling—" Wang Defa shouted loudly at the receding boat.
He's always wanted to sell this boat, but the problem is its age is really quite old, and on top of that he wants to sell it for more, so it simply won't sell.
For years no one has asked about the price, and finally Ye Cheng, a big spender, shows up— this time we have to sell it to him no matter what.
"Brother, are you really planning to buy my second brother's boat?" Xiao Hu asked on the way.
"We can buy it, the price is okay."
"Brother, 38,000 is definitely too high— given my second uncle's character, 30,000 would definitely close the deal."
"Damn, he's your second uncle— you're biting the hand that feeds you."
"If he keeps holding onto this boat, it'll never sell; I'm just helping him."
After the three chatted idly for a few sentences, they then got to talking about their destination.
"A Cheng, where are we going? Or is it still that island from yesterday?"
"..."
Ye Cheng scratched his head, "Yeah, where should we go?"
I guess I hadn't even thought about this question.
Yesterday's island isn't worth going to anymore— the coconut crabs are gone, the bird's nests have been picked clean, so we need to change locations.
But Ye Cheng isn't very familiar with this sea area; before, they just had Wang Defa randomly pick an island to drop off at, but now he has to decide himself, and he starts to waver.
Seeing his brother like that, Ye Guowei knew he was starting to waver; he took out a map and roughly traced a route.
"There are plenty of small islands near our coast; we can go forward a bit, then left or right— after the coconut crab island we visited last time there are several more islands; why not head that way? Anyway, we have enough time."
Ye Cheng looked it over; the islands Ye Guowei mentioned aren't far from the coconut crab island— about a 30-plus minute drive, totaling just over an hour, which is still fine.
With the direction set, Ye Guowei sped the boat all the way, while Ye Cheng and Xiao Hu sat resting, boredly gazing at the sea surface.
Soon they reached the coconut crab island; turning past it and going a bit further brought them to their destination.
Thinking of that gluttonous giant sea turtle that abandoned him here, Ye Cheng felt a bit annoyed— damn, if you're leaving, at least say goodbye.
Suddenly, a small dot appeared on the distant sea surface, slowly paddling along.
"Holy shit!"
Ye Cheng shouted, pointing over there and saying, "Brother, let's get closer and take a look— looks like that giant sea turtle."
Ye Guowei glanced over and sure enough it was a sea turtle; he nodded and steered the boat toward it.
Xiao Hu crawled onto the boat's rail and said, "Brother, all sea turtles look alike— how can you tell from this distance that it's yours?"
"Mine's got spirit; this guy's swimming so casually, you can tell at a glance it's him."
Although far away, Ye Cheng really felt it— it was indeed that turtle.
It's him!
It's him!
Our little Nezha!
The boat slowly approached, and finally they could see the turtle's appearance clearly.
Ye Cheng took a close look and instantly fell silent.
Damn, its size and color are completely different.
"Hell, if it's not him, why are you so leisurely?"
Since they'd already pulled up, Ye Cheng casually grabbed a small fish from the cabin and fed it to the leisurely creature, then they pressed on and soon arrived at their destination.
From afar, two islands could be seen.
Ye Guowei slowly reduced speed and casually pulled up to one of them.
Just then, a head suddenly popped up from the front of the bow, and a sea turtle swam up from the seabed.
Ye Cheng's face darkened— "No way, another sea turtle?"
"You're just messing with me, right?"
But when this sea turtle emerged, it didn't swim forward; it just waited in place and turned its head toward them.
This strange behavior made Ye Cheng unable to help but feel a glimmer of hope.
He had Ye Guowei slowly approach, and he thought, "Damn, it really is him."
"Brother, it really is you." Ye Cheng scooped the giant sea turtle out of the water in one go, overjoyed.
Ye Guowei and Xiao Hu also looked astonished— "This is too miraculous; we actually managed to run into it."
"This is the open sea, not a bathhouse."
Ye Cheng fed the giant sea turtle two small fish; it devoured them in a couple of bites, then nibbled at Ye Cheng's pant leg and crawled toward the bow.
"That shameless demeanor feels familiar."
Ye Cheng followed it, and the turtle stretched its head leftward, pointing toward another island.
"Brother, are you telling us to go to that island?"
The turtle didn't respond— it can't speak anyway— but its head is pointed that way.
Ye Guowei also saw it and said, "If we can't, let's just go check that island out— after all, we're just casually looking around."
Unexpectedly, there was a divine turtle showing the way, so Ye Guowei turned the boat and headed toward that island.
Before even getting close, they could already see the scenery on the island.
The island had many rocks and few trees; following the divine turtle's guide, Ye Cheng and the others found a spot to pull up.
Before even docking, they saw a stretch of dark reefs on the beach.
"Brother, what kind of road is this you're leading? Could there be anything here?" Ye Cheng gently stroked the big sea turtle.
This creature bumped Ye Cheng with its head, as if telling him it was dissatisfied.
The boat slowly approached; Ye Cheng stood up and looked, thinking the beach was too dark.
"Brother, it looks like they're all oysters." Xiao Hu said on the beach.
"They really are oysters... this is quite a lot." Ye Guowei was also shocked.
It's not that they've never seen oysters before, nor that they've never seen sheets of oysters.
But seeing them laid out on the ground, layer upon layer, piled up like a mountain, they had never seen such a sight.
The three of them docked, jumped off the boat, and walked over.
Ye Cheng casually pulled an oyster from the ground.
No way, they were packed together in clumps; you couldn't pull one out without shaking them a bit.
This oyster was bigger than Ye Cheng's palm; he took a small knife, pried it open, and inside was prime oyster meat.
"Live oysters." Ye Cheng exclaimed excitedly.
Although some oysters look piled up, many are dead, so Ye Cheng had worried earlier that this was a pile of dead oysters, which would have been boring.
Now, picking one up at random yields a live one; it seems this oyster field should be good.
