Chapter 108

Still Wrong

Nie Jinxuan screamed reflexively, which startled Yin Fengxiang. He could not help but turn his head, and then Yin Fengxiang asked, very puzzled:

"Fourth Sister... uh, Miss Nie, what is wrong with you? What happened?"

Yin Fengxiang was a bit worried, and at this moment, after her scream, Nie Jinxuan stood there blankly, dumbfounded.

Bi Chi?!

Wasn't that the place where the body of Concubine Tong Shu was discovered before?!

But why did no one tell her that Bi Chi was actually a hot spring?! And if Bi Chi was a hot spring, wouldn't that mean...

In an instant, Nie Jinxuan felt her heart shake violently, and then she could not help but turn her eyes to ask Yin Fengxiang:

"Prince Rui, are you sure that was Bi Chi just now?"

At this moment, Nie Jinxuan's face was serious, and her tightly furrowed brows revealed a hint of tension and gravity. Seeing this, Yin Fengxiang was stunned for a moment, but then he nodded directly.

"It should be correct. Although I haven't been here before, I heard Lan Ping say before that among the Zi Feng Lin, Bi Chi is the most remote and quiet, and the surrounding birds are scarce... So, according to my deduction, that should be Bi Chi."

"Who is Lan Ping?"

"Oh, he is the attendant who has been by my side since childhood."

"Then did he say that Bi Chi is a hot spring?"

"Uh... he didn't say that..."

Answering Nie Jinxuan's question, Yin Fengxiang could not help but frown slightly, then asked in a low voice:

"Miss Nie, what is wrong with you? Is there... a problem with that Bi Chi?"

Yin Fengxiang really could not understand Nie Jinxuan's sudden change. Hearing this, Nie Jinxuan bit her lip and explained:

"Has Prince Rui heard about the murder of Concubine Tong Shu a few days ago?"

"Concubine Tong Shu?! Oh~, I heard Lan Ping tell me a little about it. I heard that Concubine Tong Shu died miserably, and the Emperor was very furious... But wasn't it said that the murderer had already been found? Besides, what does it have to do with Bi Chi?"

"Of course it has to do with it! Because the body of Concubine Tong Shu was discovered in Bi Chi!"

"What? Discovered in Bi Chi?"

Clearly, Prince Rui Yin Fengxiang did not know much about the previous matter of Concubine Tong Shu. And his attendant Lan Ping, presumably fearing that saying too much would startle Yin Fengxiang, had only told him the general idea without going into specifics. Therefore, upon hearing that Concubine Tong Shu had actually been discovered in Bi Chi, he was stunned dumbfounded.

But after the shock, Yin Fengxiang immediately regained his composure, tidied up his slightly uncomposed expression, and then asked:

"Then even if it was discovered in Bi Chi, didn't Miss Nie know that before? Why are you so panicked? Could it be that there is a problem somewhere?"

"Of course there is a problem!"

As she spoke, Nie Jinxuan paced a few steps, then lowered her eyes and said:

"To tell you the truth, I personally examined the body of Concubine Tong Shu. And at that time, I only thought that Bi Chi was an ordinary mountain pool, which is why I deduced that Concubine Tong Shu died three days before!"

"But if Bi Chi is a hot spring, then the result would be vastly different! Because ordinary mountain streams and pools have lower water temperatures. But Bi Chi is a hot spring, so the water temperature is naturally high. And this difference between high and low temperatures causes differences in the changes of the body at different temperatures... So, I made the most fatal mistake!"

The more she spoke, the more annoyed Nie Jinxuan felt, and at the same time, she blamed herself for why she didn't ask about the situation of Bi Chi at the time, or go to the mountain to take a look herself! Otherwise, such a big mistake would not have happened!

But at this moment, hearing Nie Jinxuan say that she was the one who examined Concubine Tong Shu's body, he was once again stunned dumbfounded, and it was only after a long while that he regained his composure, then collected himself and asked:

"Uh... then if that is the case? Does it mean that Concubine Tong Shu's time of death was not three days before the body was discovered?"

"Correct! If it is a hot spring, then in a situation with a higher water temperature, it will accelerate the speed of the body's decomposition! Therefore, calculated this way, Concubine Tong Shu was not discovered three days after her death, but was already discovered only one day later!"

Nie Jinxuan said it decisively, and after her words, she said to Yin Fengxiang:

"I am sorry, Prince Rui, for talking to you about these things. But the matter is urgent, and I need to re-investigate immediately, because if Concubine Tong Shu's time of death has changed, then the murderer is very likely not that palace maid named Bi Yao! So, the situation is urgent, I will send Prince Rui back first."

The new discovery left Nie Jinxuan with no mood to consider anything else. So, as soon as her words fell, Nie Jinxuan pushed the wheelchair, intending to send Yin Fengxiang back... But just at this moment, just as Nie Jinxuan was about to push the wheelchair and looked up, she could not help but be stunned!

It turned out that Yin Fengzhan, who should have left with the Shuncheng Emperor and the others, was standing not far ahead, looking at her!

Nie Jinxuan stopped involuntarily. At this moment, Yin Fengxiang also discovered Yin Fengzhan in front and then said aloud:

"Fourth Imperial Brother, you are back? Are you here to pick up Fourth Sister-in-law?"

The initial surprise turned into a smile, and Yin Fengxiang spoke naturally. And it must be said that Yin Fengxiang truly reacted quickly, even changing his form of address for Nie Jinxuan invisibly.

Hearing this, Yin Fengzhan, who was standing not far away, only glanced at Yin Fengxiang with a gloomy face, then instantly shifted his gaze and landed it back on Nie Jinxuan.

Yin Fengzhan did not speak, but just looked at Nie Jinxuan quietly. But at this moment, Nie Jinxuan, who was already anxious, had no time to quarrel with him! So, after a brief surprise, Nie Jinxuan hurriedly pushed Yin Fengxiang back...

Nie Jinxuan tried to keep her pace as steady as possible. But just as she passed Yin Fengzhan, she was stopped by him.

"Stop right there!"

Yin Fengzhan said this to Nie Jinxuan, but hearing this, Nie Jinxuan pushed him away.

"Move aside, I don't have time to argue with you right now!"

As she spoke, Nie Jinxuan turned her head and looked at Yin Fengzhan with a grave expression, then continued:

"However, it is good that you are back; I have something to tell you in a moment, come quickly!"

After these words, Nie Jinxuan did not wait for Yin Fengzhan to say anything and walked away directly pushing Yin Fengxiang. Watching her departing back, Yin Fengzhan wanted to call her back again, but after frowning slightly, he followed her directly...

Although Prince Rui Yin Fengxiang expressed that he wanted to help Nie Jinxuan, Nie Jinxuan politely refused him; after all, Yin Fengxiang's health was not very good yet, and if something happened, it would not be good!

So, after sending Yin Fengxiang back to his room, Nie Jinxuan hurried back to her own room. As soon as she entered, she saw Yin Fengzhan sitting in the room, and Nie Jinxuan did not waste words, saying directly:

"Bi Yao is not the murderer!"

Nie Jinxuan said it with certainty, but at this moment, Yin Fengzhan, who had intended to question her about something, was stunned.

"What do you mean?"

"It means exactly what it says, that the palace maid Bi Yao is not the murderer who killed Concubine Tong Shu!"

As she spoke, Nie Jinxuan walked to the seat next to Yin Fengzhan and sat down, then continued:

"This morning after you all left, I went to the Zi Feng Lin. I happened to meet Prince Rui, and we strolled in the forest for a while, but unexpectedly, as we walked, we saw a hot spring, but later I found out that the hot spring was actually the Bi Chi where Concubine Tong Shu's body was discovered before!"

"And at that time, when I examined Concubine Tong Shu's body, I didn't know that Bi Chi was a hot spring, so I deduced it based on the normal forest water temperature. Consequently, I deduced that Concubine Tong Shu's time of death was three days before the body was discovered."

,

"But if Bi Chi is a hot spring, then the result is different. Because the water temperature of a hot spring is higher than the normal water temperature, it will accelerate the time of the body's decomposition, so in this way, Concubine Tong Shu was very likely murdered only one day before the body was discovered! And in this way, Bi Yao's previous confession to the murder is a big mistake! Because the time of death itself was wrong, how could she have killed anyone?"

Having said everything she had just discovered and her thoughts in one breath, Nie Jinxuan stood up and said to Yin Fengzhan:

"So, now we must go to see the Emperor as soon as possible. Of course, I know that the relationship between you and me is quite awkward now, but human life is paramount, if by any chance..."

The more she thought about it, the more anxious she became, and in the end, Nie Jinxuan's voice even trembled! But before Nie Jinxuan could finish her words, she was pulled over by Yin Fengzhan, who interrupted her:

"Wait! What are you saying?!"

"Oh, I mean, the time of Concubine Tong Shu's death was wrong! Because Bi Chi is a hot spring..."

"Who said Bi Chi is a hot spring?"

"But I don't... uh, what did you say?"

"Who said Bi Chi is a hot spring?"

Looking at Nie Jinxuan in front of him, Yin Fengzhan asked again in a deep voice. At this moment, being questioned by Yin Fengzhan, Nie Jinxuan was stunned.

"Uh... it was, it was your Second Imperial Brother, Prince Rui who said it..."

"He said it? And you believe what he says?"

After saying this coldly to Nie Jinxuan, Yin Fengzhan stood up, pulled Nie Jinxuan out without a word, left the room, left the front courtyard, entered the Zi Feng Lin, headed north all the way, and finally stopped in front of a pool that looked almost the same as the Bi Chi she had seen before.

"The place you went to before was not Bi Chi, but the Warm Pool! And this is the real Bi Chi!"

Yin Fengzhan spoke coldly, his deep eyes revealing a coldness that made it impossible to tell if he was happy or angry. At this moment, hearing this, and looking at the real Bi Chi in front of her, she was speechless for a long time... At the same time, a flush instantly appeared on her cheeks.

But in front of Yin Fengzhan, Nie Jinxuan did not want to show weakness. Therefore, after a brief moment of embarrassment, Nie Jinxuan bent down and dipped her hand into the pool water as if naturally... But the moment she dipped her hand into the pool water, she screamed in shock.

"Ah—so cold!"

"The water of Bi Chi is bone-chillingly cold, which is why it is called Bi Chi. So, the one you mentioned just now is the Yang Pool, not Bi Chi!"

"Uh... so that is how it is..."

Facing Yin Fengzhan's explanation, Nie Jinxuan could not help but feel a bit ashamed, but after these words, Nie Jinxuan's expression changed again, and she bent down to dip her hand into the water of Bi Chi again, and after a moment, she could not help but say in a low voice:

"Wrong! It is still wrong!"
