Chapter 132: The Unexpected Amethystian
Do not assume that the Alien Queen was a heartless reproductive machine devoid of combat prowess. One only needed to look at the ferocious bone armor plating her body to grasp her terrifying fighting strength.
However, using her purely for battle was undeniably a waste of her true potential. The armor covering Li Yu retracted layer by layer, morphing back into ordinary clothing.
"Go," Li Yu commanded, waving a hand dismissively at her. A low, guttural roar echoed throughout the entire camp. The Black Lizards seemed to sense something, and for a fleeting moment, they recoiled in genuine fear.
The newly born Alien Queen needed a blood-soaked slaughter to announce her arrival to the world!
The nearby Elite Squad followed closely behind, methodically dispatching any stragglers that managed to slip through.
The soldiers of Morcasa were visibly terrified of the sudden appearance of the Alien Queen. Yet, after Mole offered an explanation, they reluctantly accepted this monstrous creature as an ally.
Under Li Yu's strict command, the Alien Queen refrained from attacking the insignificant human ants scurrying around her. Instead, she ruthlessly tore into the Black Lizards without an ounce of mercy.
As an apex killing machine, her lethal efficiency far outpaced that of any single Elite Squad. More importantly, she consumed her prey as she slaughtered them, causing her massive frame to continuously and rapidly expand.
By the time the sky grew light and the battle drew to a close, she stood nearly eight meters tall when reared up, her overall bulk having grown significantly larger.
Li Yu estimated that the Black Lizards themselves only possessed combat strength somewhere between the E-Rank and D-Rank. They relied entirely on their overwhelming numbers to besiege Morcasa.
The fact that the Alien Queen could reach the C-Tier standard just by devouring a few corpses proved that she was blessed with unparalleled genetic advantages.
However, Li Yu had no intention of relying on her as a primary combatant. After all, her true role was that of a queen.
"Please prepare a large warehouse and bring all the captured Black Lizards over," Li Yu requested in high spirits as Mole approached.
Mole stared at the massive Alien Queen crouching behind Li Yu, his eyes filled with deep apprehension. "What exactly is this species?"
"Xenomorphs," Li Yu replied smoothly. Despite Mole's vast interstellar experience, he racked his brain and still failed to recall a single shred of data regarding such a race.
"A Bio-Engineered Creature?" Mole asked tentatively. There was no natural species in existence that could spurt to three meters tall mere moments after birth. Even the most Ferocious Beasts had to adhere to the basic laws of the Universe.
Furthermore, this terrifying creature bore a faint resemblance to the Black Lizards.
"You could say that," Li Yu replied, pondering the origins of the Xenomorphs. They were indeed bio-engineered creatures. However, their genetic modification had been so overwhelmingly successful that they nearly wiped out their own creators.
"Then you must keep a tight leash on it. We finally survived the Star Beast Tide, and I certainly do not want to see a Xenomorph tide emerge in its wake," Mole warned, shaking his head.
Li Yu nodded and chuckled softly. "Relax. Nothing will go wrong."
As if to validate Li Yu's reassurance, the queen looming behind him let out a symbolic, rumbling hiss.
An ammunition warehouse was promptly cleared out, and the gargantuan Alien Queen assumed her duty as a reproductive machine. Twenty Black Lizards were hauled inside, where they watched helplessly as the distant queen continuously birthed her brood.
The round little Xenomorph Eggs were placed directly in front of the Black Lizards, whose maws were forced open. Under the horrified gazes of the observing guards, Facehuggers crawled out one by one.
"Are you absolutely certain this will not spiral out of control like in No Man's Land?" Hunter asked, trembling with fear. The horrifying image of endless Zombie swarms from No Man's Land still flashed vividly in his mind.
After all, this planet was his old friend's homeland. If it descended into a chaotic wasteland like No Man's Land, how could they ever face Mole?
"Relax," Li Yu said, his gaze fixed on the continuously snarling Alien Queen. "She is completely under my control."
"That is good, then." Hunter sighed in relief, though he could not shake the feeling that there was a hidden meaning behind Li Yu's words. Still, he could not quite put his finger on it.
What Li Yu conveniently left out was that the newly hatched eggs were not directly under his control.
It was the classic dilemma: the vassal of my vassal is not my vassal.
Fortunately, the Alien Queen exerted absolute dominance over her offspring. Since he could issue commands to the hatchlings through her, the end result was essentially the same.
Interestingly enough, perhaps because this Alien Queen was hatched from a Xenomorph Egg generated by the System, her massive form could actually be stored within the System Space.
It was similar to the Sand Worm. However, time inside the System Space was completely frozen, meaning she could not undergo any further growth while stored inside.
Perhaps due to the terrifying emergence of the Alien Queen, the usual gazes the Morcasa soldiers directed at Li Yu were now tinged with a complex mix of awe and dread.
Li Yu paid no mind to their stares. He simply remained in the warehouse, closely observing his Alien Queen. All twenty Black Lizards had been successfully parasitized, and it would still be some time before the Xenomorphs burst forth from their hosts.
Meanwhile, inside the command center, Mole was in the middle of a meeting with the rest of the Morcasa Councilors. His expression, however, was exceptionally grim.
"What do you mean we no longer need to hire the God Slayer? Are you going to deal with the B-Tier Lifeform yourselves?"
The councilors projected on the screen wore enigmatic smiles. One of them replied, "We have already hired a B-Tier Mechanical Cyborg from the interstellar market. He will arrive shortly to help us deal with that B-Tier Lifeform."
"A B-Tier Mechanical Cyborg?!" Mole's immediate reaction was not joy, but rather shock and suspicion. "Where did you get the Star Coins for that?"
Hiring a B-Tier Lifeform required hundreds of millions of Star Coins just as a starting price. To hire one to fight an enemy of the exact same tier would easily cost upwards of a billion Star Coins.
The current financial reserves of the entire Morcasa civilization were far from sufficient to cover such a staggering interstellar expenditure.
"You do not need to worry about that... We have our ways," the councilors said, their eyes shifting evasively. They clearly had no intention of revealing the truth to Mole.
"I hope you are not courting death. The Universe is not as simple as you naive fools think it is!" Mole warned coldly.
"Mole!" one of the councilors barked sharply. "Do not assume that wandering the galaxy for a few years gives you the right to look down on us."
"You better remember the enormous risks Morcasa took when we accepted you back!!"
Furious, Mole forcefully terminated the transmission. His face was flushed red, looking every bit like an enraged bull. It took him a long time to calm down before he finally stepped out of the command center.
.........
"A B-Tier Mechanical Cyborg?" Hunter's expression darkened as he looked at the utterly incensed Mole.
Mole tightly clenched his fists. "Exactly. Those bastards. Who knows what vital intelligence they leaked to the outside world? They are completely short-sighted!"
"You all need to lay low for a while. The soldiers here have no idea about your origins, but a B-Tier Lifeform will undoubtedly sense something is off."
Mole spoke with a hint of genuine apology. "I will issue a strict gag order. No one will leak your information."
"Hunter, stay out of sight for now. As for me, I am not wearing my original face anyway," Li Yu said, shaking his head. He was not overly concerned about the situation.
"Just what exactly are those councilors of yours plotting?" Hunter mused, clearly puzzled.
"The best-case scenario... is that those councilors dipped into their own illicit slush funds to hire a B-Tier Lifeform to solve your problems," Li Yu analyzed, his gaze never once straying from the Alien Queen.
"The worst-case scenario... is that the news of the Amethyst Core has leaked, and that guy is actually here to wipe you all out."
"I lean towards the latter..."
Mole's expression flickered with uncertainty before he let out a defeated sigh. He had dedicated his entire heart to the rise of their civilization, but others clearly did not share his noble vision.
The true rise of a civilization would take hundreds of years. By then, those councilors would have long returned to dust and ashes. They were far more interested in indulging in worldly pleasures now.
Previously, Mole and the councilors had maintained a fragile balance of power. However, with the ongoing excavation of the Amethyst Core, the councilors could no longer contain their boundless greed.
From then on, Hunter ceased swaggering openly through the camp, and the Morcasa guards were strictly forbidden from discussing Li Yu and his companions.
In an instant, the atmosphere throughout the entire camp grew palpably tense. The low-ranking Morcasa soldiers had no idea what was actually going on, sparking endless whispered speculations.
Two days later, a massive spaceship measuring several dozen meters in length descended upon the Morcasa Camp.
The spaceship was shaped remarkably like a bat. Its External Armor was covered in segmented black metallic structures, resembling heavy protective scales layering the vessel.
On the left and right sides of the ship's stern were claw-shaped metal fixtures fused directly into the hull. At the ends of both sides were glowing purple propulsion exhausts.
There were a total of eight adjustable Thrusters, granting the ship extreme flexibility. It was not only capable of long-distance Warp jumps but also excelled at close-range pursuit combat.
Mole personally led seven Elite Squads to welcome their arrival. Regardless of the visitors' true origins, their status as a B-Tier Lifeform was an undeniable reality, and they could not be treated casually.
The spaceship deployed a sleek black ramp. A party of six walked down the steps, instantly drawing the absolute attention of everyone present.
It was a standard interstellar Mercenary setup, featuring members of various different species. The leader was a towering Pamos clad in heavy armor. Only his narrow, elongated purple head was exposed, his two bulging eyes protruding outward.
His brown armor was rugged and menacing. The heavy alloy plating and interlocking mechanical components provided an incredibly strong visual impact.
It appeared geared heavily towards raw strength and defense. His mechanical limbs were exceptionally thick and heavily augmented with numerous power-enhancing structures.
"Governor General of Morcasa?" he asked as he stepped up to Mole. He towered over Mole by a full head, even with the latter wearing his own combat suit, a clear tone of inquiry in his deep voice.
"That is me," Mole nodded, carefully assessing the imposing alien.
"I am Yu Jin, hired to assist you." Yu Jin extended a hand. The metal gauntlet smoothly retracted, revealing a stark purple palm.
Mole also reached out, and the two shook hands in a formal display of mutual respect.
"We have already arranged your living quarters. Please follow me." As Mole turned to lead the group, his gaze swept over the rest of the crew, and his heart almost stopped.
Among the six-man squad was a figure wearing the Blue Bird armor. It was one of the portable suits produced by Opto-Electric Technology. It was not overly bulky, merely making the wearer look a size larger than a normal human.
However, what truly seized Mole's complete attention was not the armor, but the glowing purple, diamond-shaped Crystal embedded in the person's forehead.
An Amethystian!
That was the unmistakable mark of an Amethystian. The Amethyst Civilization possessed incredibly advanced Amethyst technology. Prolonged exposure to Amethyst radiation caused special physiological mutations in their people, resulting in the natural formation of that very crystal.
To think there was an Amethystian in this squad! Mole's strict facial control almost entirely collapsed, only snapping back when Yu Jin turned around with a look of confusion. "Your Excellency Mole, is something the matter?"
Mole abruptly snapped out of his daze, forcing a stiff smile. "It is nothing. Please, follow me."
The sudden appearance of someone from the Amethyst Civilization sent violent shockwaves through Mole's mind. Countless terrifying speculations surged within his thoughts, yet he had to suppress them all to maintain polite conversation with Yu Jin.
The living quarters assigned to Yu Jin's team were situated on the opposite side of the camp, positioned incredibly far from Li Yu's warehouse housing the Alien Queen. Mole had deliberately arranged it this way to avoid unnecessary complications.
Yu Jin himself was a B-Tier Mechanical Cyborg, and the Squad Members under his command were all C-Tier Lifeforms. A loadout like this was already considered to be at a relatively elite level among interstellar Mercenary squads.
Such an expensive, high-level Mercenary team was absolutely not something those greedy Morcasa Councilors could ever hope to afford on their own.
