Chapter 158: Information Transfer Technology

~14 min read 2,661 words

A faint glimmer finally returned to Peyton's exceptionally hollow eyes. His gaze remained firmly fixed on Li Yu, tracking his every movement like an obsessed stalker.

Mangu had gone to clean up the loose ends, checking if his subordinates had left behind any obvious clues. Under normal circumstances, it might not have mattered, but in the current situation, any minor issue could be magnified.

Li Yu felt somewhat unnerved by Peyton's persistent staring. He discreetly pulled the man into a corner and asked suspiciously, "You don't have any weird hobbies, do you? I have heard that Nobles have rather peculiar fetishes."

Peyton ignored the teasing in Li Yu's words and asked with a hint of seriousness, "Are you certain that Xia En's Imperial Gene has been extracted?"

This somewhat familiar question left Li Yu slightly stunned. He recalled that the Mithril Church had asked the exact same thing.

He did not answer immediately, allowing numerous speculations to flash through his mind. Peyton did not rush him either, quietly waiting for a response.

After a moment of silence, Li Yu finally spoke up. "You are not the first person to ask me this. What is the significance of this question?"

Peyton felt that he had experienced more surprises over the past few days than in his entire life combined. Piqued with curiosity, he asked, "Who else inquired about this?"

"The Mithril Church." Li Yu thought back to that mysterious organization. There was very little information about them on the Interstellar Network, or even the Black Hole Network.

Helpless, Li Yu could only ask, "What about them?"

'What is wrong with this guy? He never explains anything unless prompted,' he thought to himself.

Peyton returned to his usual calm demeanor. "It is nothing much. Just an experiment of The Empire. However, more and more people have lost interest in it, so they should have been left to their own devices by now."

He paused and repeated his earlier question. "Has that guy Xia En's Imperial Gene really been extracted?"

Li Yu frowned. "When the Mithril Church asked me, I firmly told them it was extracted. But with you asking about it again, I am no longer so sure."

Whether Xia En's Gene Chain had been stripped away seemed to be of utmost importance. The Mithril Church was keeping an eye on it, and even Peyton was deeply curious.

Li Yu then showed Peyton the video he had saved. It was blackmail material of Xia En, showing him being posed in all sorts of compromising positions.

"Interesting." Peyton's expression shifted slightly. He cast a subtle glance at Li Yu before commenting, "To not put up any resistance while being manipulated like this, it should be true."

"I have interacted with Xia En before. In my understanding, he is a qualified Imperial Noble. Allowing emotions to override rationality is something that should not happen to him," he continued, his gaze deepening as if recalling a distant memory.

"Imperial Nobles are the aristocrats among aristocrats. Everything they do has a purpose. For something to make Xia En willingly give up his Imperial Gene... it must be a massive scheme."

Hearing this, Li Yu fell into deep thought. 'Could Xia En have done it on purpose?'

He found it hard to believe, but looking at Peyton, the man seemed completely convinced of his own deduction.

Li Yu had only ever interacted with two Nobles: one was Xia En, and the other was Peyton.

Although Peyton was rather eccentric, he did embody the characteristics of a Noble in certain aspects—he was composed and elegant.

Now, Li Yu was also beginning to suspect whether Xia En was truly as he appeared to be.

Being seduced by Hel and committing an act that betrayed the Imperial Nobles—Xia En had originally used the excuse of love to cover it up. But if that layer of romance was peeled away, there seemed to be many glaring inconsistencies.

However... after a moment of thought, he decided that Xia En's ultimate Destination had very little to do with him. Who cared what the prince was plotting?

...

The dazzling Dark Night Sanctuary stood tall in the Void. Although its primary theme was pitch black, a color completely unrelated to radiance, it bizarrely exuded a feeling of absolute brilliance.

Eight pitch-black stars orbited the black temple in specific trajectories, radiating a faint starlight while a pristine, silver-white lunar ring enveloped the surrounding area.

Pillars resembling black jade supported the massive hall. Believers dressed in black robes hurried back and forth, their heads bowed low, making it impossible to tell what Interstellar Race they belonged to.

Hair-thin black threads extended from the Void, drawn into the eight surrounding stars. If one leaned close to those threads, faint sounds of prayer could be heard emanating from within.

Inside one of the black stars, an optical computer shimmering with intertwined black and white light was rapidly processing the threads of Faith.

"E-1234-2564-3468-... Believer No. 22 requests a bag of food to suppress their hunger. Faith level: Weak. Request denied."

"A-2244-1136-8856-... Believer No. 778 wishes for his son to be cured of a disease. Faith level: Strong. Verifying... The descendant suffers from Green-Core Froth Syndrome. Difficult to cure. Request denied."

"Y-3321-1112-6689-... Believer No. 55 prays for absolution for their crimes. Faith level: Fanatical! Request approved!"

A vast number of Believers were busy processing the Prayer Requests that had been approved by the optical computer.

Deep within the Palace of this planet, Hel stepped down from a massive bed adorned with golden patterns. Her long legs were faintly visible through her black gauze dress.

At the foot of the bed, Xia En was blindfolded and forced to kneel before her. Hel walked over, gently lifted his chin, and slightly parted her cherry lips.

"My darling, the Mother Goddess says that your Bloodline is completely clean. There is no trace of the Imperial Gene left within you."

"I told you a long time ago. I no longer hold any value," Xia En replied in a calm voice.

Hel exhaled softly by his ear. "The Mother Goddess reprimanded me severely for this. I thought you would be my greatest trump card, but it turns out you are nothing more than a toy."

Slap!

Hel delivered a harsh slap across Xia En's face. Lacking any ability to resist, Xia En was knocked sideways, a faint red handprint rapidly forming on his cheek.

"Useless trash!" Hel scolded. Seeing his total lack of reaction, she furrowed her brow, her bare feet stepping softly against the black floor as she walked straight past him.

Her figure disappeared from the Palace. A long time passed before a few figures dressed in black robes emerged from the corners of the room to help Xia En to his feet.

"Your Excellency, to think she dared to..." one of them whispered indignantly. Xia En's previously calm eyes suddenly turned fierce as he growled in a low voice, "Shut up!"

"There is no equipment to Monitor us here, you can rest assured," the man hurriedly explained.

A faint golden radiance surfaced in Xia En's eyes. Two complex Rings intertwined within his pupils, with countless symbols floating and sinking within them.

The man's body began to convulse violently. Before long, he ceased all movement, completely losing his Vital Signs.

"I do not want to see any more fanatical Believers appearing here," Xia En ordered coldly. The remaining black-robed figures kept their heads bowed, showing no reaction whatsoever.

If one were to look closely from below, they would clearly see the exact same mysterious faint golden rings surfacing in their eyes.

At that exact moment, roughly a third of the Believers across the entire planet seemed to sense something, simultaneously lowering their heads.

...

Li Yu was not particularly interested in Xia En's affairs; he found his own System much more fascinating.

The Second Clone's journey in the Marvel World had made new progress. Following his previous clash with Captain Bubble Butt, S.H.I.E.L.D. finally seemed to lower their guard and began dispatching him on field missions.

[Marvel World - Day Eleven: You have been assigned a field mission by S.H.I.E.L.D. to recover Chitauri Technology...]

This happened on the second day after acquiring the Super Soldier Serum. The subsequent days were spent on preliminary preparations.

During this period, he also obtained the title of "S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent." Its effect had a high probability of backstabbing teammates. Li Yu heavily suspected this was a deliberate mockery.

And today, the Second Clone's first official mission had finally concluded.

[Marvel World - Day Fifteen: After a series of intense battles, you successfully destroyed a Gang's hideout and recovered the Chitauri Battleship Head they had secretly hidden away.]

[Obtained Special Item: Information Transfer Technology. Do you wish to extract it?]

Naturally, Li Yu chose to extract it.

[Obtained Special Item: Information Transfer Technology. The control tech for the Chitauri army. Integrating this into the Titan Colonization Armor will produce unexpected results.

PS: To think the method to defeat such a massive army was simply to turn off their Wi-Fi?]

Li Yu gripped the thumb-sized Crystal. Since the item description explicitly stated it should be integrated into the Titan Colonization Armor, he directly pressed it against his chest without hesitation.

"Master, what did you just shove inside?" Claptrap's voice sounded somewhat urgent, a reaction that clearly fell outside the parameters of a normal Artificial Intelligence.

The Titan Colonization Armor extended automatically. Blue intricate patterns began to surface on its exterior, covering the entirety of the suit like an intricate spiderweb.

Then, under Li Yu's astonished gaze, the liquid-like Titan Colonization Armor began stretching outwards, miraculously cloning an identical copy of itself right beside him.

'It greatly enhanced Claptrap's processing capabilities, to the point where it can control the Titan Colonization Armor and execute a complete biological split?' he marveled inwardly.

Li Yu pondered it over. This was certainly an incredible asset, even though it could not replicate the Ship-breaking Blade or the purple barrier, as those constructs relied on more than just Energy.

Nevertheless, in certain situations, this ability would prove to be unimaginably useful.

Meanwhile, standing not too far away and constantly contemplating how to embrace the sweet release of death, Peyton's pupils abruptly contracted. He stared at the Titan Colonization Armor enveloping Li Yu in sheer shock.

He had been slightly surprised when he saw the Ghost God Orb, and similarly mildly taken aback when he learned of Li Yu's true Identity. But now, he was utterly astounded.

"The Titan Colonization Armor?" Peyton muttered to himself. Everyone else assumed it was some sort of advanced Nano-Armor. He was the only one who recognized it for what it truly was—the unmistakable Titan Colonization Armor!

Li Yu watched with wide eyes as Peyton suddenly jogged over. The man did not utter a single word; he just stared blankly at the Titan Colonization Armor worn on Li Yu's body.

Li Yu immediately understood the situation. He once again dragged the scientist into a corner and asked in a hushed tone, "You recognize it?"

"The Titan Colonization Armor. One of the ultimate technological marvels of the Titan Civilization." Peyton naturally recognized it. His eyes lit up brilliantly as he inspected the Armor covering Li Yu.

This was the first time Li Yu had witnessed such a passionate emotional response from Peyton.

Li Yu instantly went on high alert. 'This guy... he knows way too much. Maybe I should just kill him right now to silence him...'

'Wait... could he be acting this way on purpose, hoping to provoke me into killing him?'

Li Yu stared at Peyton with intense suspicion. A Crazy Person was always difficult to deal with—they would drag you down to their level of insanity and then beat you with sheer experience.

Despite looking like a lovestruck fool, Peyton did not take any further physical action. He just reached out to occasionally stroke Li Yu's clothes, a behavior that caused Mo Duo to look at him quite differently.

Two days later...

Gelo stood at the entrance of the Villa with the Prismatic Yellow-Eye Remnants. He looked somewhat nervous. Clad in a sleek, platinum-colored set of Armor, he cut quite a dashing figure.

The rest of the Prismatic Yellow-Eye Remnants had already been implanted with the Thought Seal by Mangu. However, handling Gelo had proven a bit troublesome.

Although he still had an explosive energy bead sitting in his stomach, it would be extremely problematic if he snapped at the last minute and decided to blow himself up to take everyone down with him.

Thus, Li Yu directly forced him into the duplicate Titan Colonization Armor. If the man tried anything funny, Li Yu could immediately suppress him.

"You know what to say? Stop looking so tense, you are the Boss!" Li Yu patted Gelo heavily on the shoulder.

Gelo gulped hard, internally cursing Li Yu's ancestors. His two yellow pupils rapidly dilated and contracted, but outwardly, he had no choice but to nod vigorously.

Satisfied, Li Yu stood right beside him. His appearance had been altered once again, making him look like nothing more than an ordinary human from the Interstellar expanse.

Before long, a group arrived. It was a small squad consisting of merely seven people.

Leading them was a Four-Armed Titan. He possessed a towering, burly physique, clad in thick black armor, and carried an exaggeratedly large Mechanical Giant Bow strapped to his back.

There were almost no overlapping Interstellar Races within the group. The Vice-Captain was a Troll, his body covered in interlacing patches of red and blue, emanating an Aura that induced a palpable sense of dread.

'Two B-Tiers...' Li Yu's eyes narrowed slightly. Claptrap's scanners were unable to read their exact energy levels, which meant they were undeniably B-Tier Lifeforms.

The remaining four were C-Tier Lifeforms. This was undeniably an elite combat squad. If this team had shown up on Molcasar back then, the final outcome would likely have been vastly different.

"Gelo?" The leading Four-Armed Titan gazed down at him. The terrifying oppressive force radiated by the giant caused the already Guilty Conscience-stricken Gelo to lose his voice entirely.

Suddenly, a freezing chill seeped out from within the Titan Colonization Armor, forcibly shocking Gelo back into a state of calm. He knew all too well that this was a silent warning from Li Yu.

"That is me. Are you the Sun-Hunter?" Gelo hastily responded.

"Sun-Hunter is the name of our squad. I am Boiling Blood," the Four-Armed Titan replied coldly. He swept his gaze around the room, and not a single Prismatic Yellow-Eye Remnant dared to meet his eyes.

His eyes briefly settled on Li Yu, the sole human present. He asked coldly, "Weren't there three brothers in charge? Where are the other two? And who is this human? Why is there no record of him in the data?"

Gelo's heart violently trembled in terror. Li Yu's expression also shifted appropriately, looking as if he had been genuinely frightened by Boiling Blood's stern questioning.

"My two brothers went out to sell some biological materials. He is just a newly recruited Little Brother..." Gelo carefully answered, cold sweat soaking his entire body.

Gelo had provided a perfectly reasonable excuse, and Boiling Blood had merely been conducting a routine inquiry, so he did not press the matter any further.

After all, who could possibly imagine that this entire group of Prismatic Yellow-Eye Remnants had already been thoroughly subjugated and controlled?

He took out a Metal Box from his portable Compressed Space. "These are the Thunder Flame Fighting Ape biological materials you requested."

"Thank you, Sir..." Gelo hastily received the box.

After Boiling Blood and his team entered the Villa, he finally got to the main topic. "Have your men look into someone for me. I will send you their information."

The information provided was naturally regarding Kansa. Following Li Yu's prior instructions, Gelo immediately agreed to the task and dispatched his subordinates to gather intelligence.
