Chapter 166: Kansa, the Chosen One
"Gelo's crimes have nothing to do with the Prismatic Yellow-Eye Remnants. I will hand Gelo over to you, and you will let us go." Gebu stated his conditions.
"You shouldn't be a match for Gelo..." Boiling Blood was no fool and shook his head.
"I certainly am not, but you are..." Gebu made a decision that went against his older brother. "I will give you his location, and you can ambush him."
Boiling Blood did not respond, simply staring quietly at Gebu. Panic gripped Gebu for a moment, but for the sake of his own life, he forced himself to remain calm.
Boiling Blood finally spoke up. "How do I know you aren't turning this around to ambush us instead?"
Gebu did not feel flustered upon hearing this question. Li Yu had already rehearsed various scenarios with him beforehand.
"You are completely free to judge for yourselves. I can track Gelo's coordinates and share them with you at any time."
"He is extremely cautious and changes his location frequently. It's impossible for there to be an ambush waiting at every single spot."
Although Boiling Blood had a massive frame, his IQ was not low. Even though there was nothing to fault with Gebu's reasoning and motives, he still refused to believe him easily.
"You haven't agreed to our conditions yet..." Gebu shook his head.
"I can promise you that we will only deal with Gelo." Boiling Blood stopped hesitating.
But how much value did a mere verbal promise hold?
Gebu acted hesitant, expressing his own lack of trust. However, Boiling Blood's attitude was unyielding; if he didn't hand over the tracking method, there would be no need to continue negotiations.
In the end, Gebu surrendered the tracking method.
"You will not regret your choice today." Boiling Blood nodded in satisfaction. In reality, the so-called tracking method was simply a backdoor software.
The explanation Gebu provided was that when the three brothers previously sold biological materials, they were terrified of being scammed by others, so they used this method to pinpoint the other party's location in case things went south.
"Captain, the coordinates are currently moving in the West Five District." A Sun-Hunter Squad member quickly completed the coordinate surveillance.
"Very good..." Boiling Blood nodded, then immediately disconnected the communication link.
On the other side, Gebu trembled as he addressed Li Yu, who stood before him. "Do you think this is acceptable?"
"Not bad acting..." Li Yu patted Gebu on the shoulder, then locked him up again.
"We agreed you would let me go..." Gebu paled in shock.
"I will definitely let you go, but the time isn't right yet." Li Yu waved his hand dismissively before leaving the area.
The coordinates from just now merely belonged to one of Mangu's released subordinates, which could easily be exposed, so he needed to go and patch up the plan.
With the help of the Inuit Hub surveillance system, Boiling Blood quickly located the so-called "Gelo."
"Isn't this an interstellar human?" a Sun-Hunter Squad member asked in confusion, staring at the shifty-eyed man on the screen wearing dark glasses.
Another member explained, "That doesn't matter. Optical Mimicry skin can alter skin color at will. The physical differences between Prismatic Yellow-Eye Remnants and interstellar humans aren't that significant."
"Moreover, he's wearing glasses, hiding his eyes. This only increases his suspicion."
Boiling Blood remained noncommittal. Sanchez leaned in and asked, "Captain, should we go take a look? If it's really him... we can make our move."
"Idiot!" Upon hearing the news about Gelo, Nobus stopped punching his sandbag, his massive figure squeezing over.
Although he was gnashing his teeth in hatred toward the guy who slashed him, Nobus was much smarter than Sanchez.
"Is our target Gelo? Our target is Kansa!"
Having been thoroughly scolded, Sanchez naturally didn't dare to talk back, retreating meekly to the side.
"Nobus is right..." Boiling Blood finally nodded. "Gelo is just an unexpected variable. Our ultimate goal is still to capture Kansa."
"Right now, we only have a trail on Gelo. There's no rush; let's see where he goes first..."
"Gelo" wandered aimlessly under everyone's surveillance, seemingly without any destination in mind, leaving the Sun-Hunter Squad members somewhat puzzled.
'What is he doing? Could he have noticed our tracking?'
"Captain, those black-armored figures have been spotted near the East One District. I'll go take a look..." Sanchez reported. Through the surveillance system of the Inuit Hub, he had also found the people he was looking for.
Boiling Blood waved his hand, completely unfazed. His attention was entirely focused on the "Gelo" on the screen.
"Stay safe, Sanchez."
"Waiting for you to earn some merit!"
The other squad members spoke in a teasing tone. Sanchez scoffed coldly, wanting to snap back directly, but fearing a scolding from Boiling Blood and Nobus, he could only leave in a huff.
Although Gebu's sudden appearance had abruptly clarified the previously confusing sequence of events and brought the clues out into the open, Sanchez just had a baffling feeling that those black-armored figures were the true key.
"Hogg, enlarge the screen!" Just as Sanchez walked out, something happened on their end, and Boiling Blood's tone grew urgent.
The Gelo on the screen suddenly made contact with another interstellar traveler. That interstellar traveler looked entirely different from Kansa, with no purple crystal on his forehead.
However, none of them cared. After all, such physical traits could be disguised through various methods.
The screen zoomed in rapidly. The two exchanged a few brief words, though it was impossible to tell what they were discussing. "Gelo" appeared to behave rather respectfully.
Afterward, the two headed off in a certain direction, gradually disappearing from everyone's line of sight.
"What's going on? Why has the surveillance stopped?" Boiling Blood demanded coldly.
"Captain, that's near the Tyron Tower. The surveillance authority there is independent; we can't access it," a squad member immediately explained.
"Tyron Tower..." Boiling Blood's expression became moody. Tyron Tower was indeed an excellent sanctuary; very few people dared to cause trouble on their turf.
He opened his Smart Terminal and sent a message to a specific contact. He soon received a reply: 'Go scout out the situation first; His Royal Highness the Prince has already gone to negotiate.'
Boiling Blood narrowed his eyes slightly and ordered in a deep voice, "Ready your weapons. Prepare to move out."
Hearing this, the Sun-Hunter Squad members immediately began gearing up with sharp efficiency.
......
Li Yu sent off Mangu's subordinate, who had already assumed a new appearance. Staring at the Tyron Tower in front of him, he wondered if the Sun-Hunter Squad had any way to monitor them.
However, out of caution, he waited until they arrived at the Tyron Tower before letting the subordinate leave. It was common knowledge that the Tyron Tower possessed independent armed surveillance authority.
His ties with the Tyron Chamber of Commerce were undeniably deep. He had dealt with them shortly after transmigrating, and now he even shared a close relationship with a descendant of a major shareholder.
"Kansa... I hope your luck is good enough, otherwise, we can only say our goodbyes," Li Yu muttered under his breath.
His goal was simple: make Saster's men and that group of black-armored men engage in a dog eat dog fight, while he sat back and reaped the old fisherman profits.
But the crux of the issue was that neither faction was stupid. Why would they fight each other for no reason?
Li Yu had also started to figure things out. The reason Kansa was suddenly placed under a Thought Seal was because the Amethyst Civilization's network was trying to protect him.
However, the people from the Star Glory Empire clearly didn't want to go to war with Saster's backers just for Kansa, so they found a compromise.
As long as they searched Kansa's memories, the demands of both parties could be satisfied.
The Amethyst Civilization likely never expected such a workaround. And Li Yu could also be absolutely certain that the Amethyst Civilization had definitely not informed the people of the Star Glory Empire about the Amethyst Core.
Because Saster's goal was also the Amethyst Core, the objectives of the Amethyst Civilization and Saster were fundamentally in conflict.
Yet, the people from the Star Glory Empire simply thought the Amethyst Civilization merely wanted to protect Kansa, which was why they used the mental control method to avoid combat.
Everyone had their own agendas. Li Yu couldn't help but feel a slight headache coming on. To make the two factions fight, simply scheming a few steps behind the scenes wasn't enough.
He had to create a sense of urgency for one of the parties, making them feel that if they didn't act immediately, it would be too late.
And for this point, he could only rely on luck. From the corner of his eye, he spotted the members of the Sun-Hunter Squad. They moved quite fast, draped in long robes to conceal their conspicuous armor features and avoid causing panic among the crowd.
The uproar from the battle they caused earlier hadn't completely subsided yet.
Weighing the Smart Terminal in his hand, Li Yu took the elevator straight up to the 75th floor.
"You again?" Card Master's face instantly fell when he saw Li Yu, who had completed a new optical mimicry and altered his appearance.
He clearly remembered that this guy had designs on his wife... No, his laboratory.
"Your Excellency Card Master, I came to apologize this time. I misspoke last time..." Li Yu said sincerely, claiming that he had been unable to sleep at night and had deeply realized his mistakes.
Card Master's eyelid twitched. Although he felt these words were a bit too exaggerated, his expression still softened. He waved his hand and said, "Alright, I get it."
"If you want to modulate a normal Gene Chain, I can let bygones be bygones. But if you're asking for dual attributes, you'd better leave."
Though his expression had softened, his attitude remained lukewarm.
"I came exclusively to apologize to you. Now that I've said my piece, it's time for me to go." Li Yu stood up and walked right out without waiting for Card Master to reply.
"Crazy person..." Card Master shook his head, only to suddenly notice a Smart Terminal left behind on the sofa where Li Yu had just been sitting.
"Hmm?" He frowned slightly, sensing that something was amiss. Smart Terminals were normally worn on the wrist; nobody shoved them in their pockets.
This was clearly not left behind by accident; it seemed intentionally placed here.
He held the Smart Terminal and walked out the door. Li Yu's figure had long vanished, and the tightly locked stairwell door nearby had been forced open.
The bad premonition in Card Master's heart grew stronger.
Just then, the elevator stopped on the 75th floor. Card Master's expression turned slightly displeased. This entire floor was his territory. Without permission, absolutely no one should have been able to come up.
And he remembered that he had no additional appointments today... It was bad enough that his idiot beast slave had let a crazy person in, but now it had let in someone else entirely unknown. It was time to replace the beast slave...
Just as Card Master was contemplating what kind of beast slave to swap in, the elevator doors opened, and the Sun-Hunter Squad appeared before him...
One of the Sun-Hunter Squad members was still mid-sentence:
"...According to the location display, it should be on this..."
Before he could finish his sentence, he spotted the Smart Terminal cradled in Card Master's hands.
The group looked at each other in dismay. Card Master's face darkened slightly. How could he not realize that he had been set up?
"Are you gentlemen looking for the owner of this item?" Card Master probed. He felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity toward the people in front of him, though he couldn't recall where he had seen them.
Boiling Blood nodded, the atmosphere growing slightly stagnant. Just then, a beast slave walked out from the room. "Master, these people said they were with the gentleman from earlier..."
Her voice grew quieter and quieter. No matter how foolish she was, she could sense that something was wrong.
"Scram back inside!" Card Master shouted harshly, then said in a deep voice, "Gentlemen... there seems to be a misunderstanding between us."
"I seem to feel that way too..." Boiling Blood nodded. He also sensed that something was off.
Card Master really wanted to point at the broken stairwell door and say the guy had already gone down, but there was no way this group of people would believe him easily.
Card Master took a deep breath and led the group into the room...
......
Down in the lobby, Li Yu glanced up at the 75th floor. Card Master should be able to delay them for a while.
Li Yu looked around and muttered to himself, "I've already given you half a day. In half a day's time, can the people backing you really still not contact the Tyron Chamber of Commerce?"
About half an hour later, Li Yu sighed. 'Kansa, heaven wants you dead, so you can't blame me...'
He shook his head. He was waiting for the people from the Star Glory Empire. For them to undo the Thought Seal, they had to come to the Tyron Tower, and half a day should have been enough time for them to report and make arrangements.
It was no easy task getting both sides to meet in a suitable location. If the people from the Star Glory Empire didn't show up soon, they would just miss each other entirely.
He figured that the misunderstanding between Card Master and the Sun-Hunter Squad had just about been resolved by now.
"Master, they have arrived..." Claptrap's voice rang out in Li Yu's ear at exactly the right moment.
Three Black-Armored Men carrying a Metal Crate walked in through the main entrance of the Tyron Chamber of Commerce, tightly guarding a black-robed figure in the center.
"...Kansa, your time has not come yet..." Li Yu whispered, keeping his gaze mostly diverted to avoid drawing their attention.
However, a sneaky figure not far away suddenly caught Li Yu's eye.
"Kansa... Not only is it not your time to die, you are simply the chosen one!" Li Yu's eyes lit up.
After using the Inuit Hub's surveillance system to find the group of Black-Armored Men, Sanchez had secretly trailed behind them.
His eyes remained glued to that Metal Crate. He had tried to get closer several times on the way without success, and his long-range scanner couldn't penetrate the crate.
He even started to wonder if he was going crazy, as there was absolutely no evidence proving that Kansa was inside.
"Hey..."
A voice rang in his ear. Sanchez shuddered violently. Having been so hyper-focused on the Metal Crate, he hadn't even noticed someone approaching him.
Just as he opened his mouth to speak, a bizarre syllable exploded in his ear, and his eyes immediately glazed over.
Ding!
The elevator doors slid open, and Boiling Blood's group stepped out. One of the squad members asked doubtfully over the communication channel, "What was Gebu's goal anyway? Was it just to play us for fools and send us on a wild goose chase?"
"He's really courting death. Let's go back and slaughter every last one of those Prismatic Yellow-Eye Remnants!"
Boiling Blood remained completely silent, his brows furrowed tightly...
"Huh, aren't those the guys Sanchez was tracking?" a member suddenly noticed the Black-Armored Men in the crowd.
Upon hearing this, Boiling Blood's heart jolted slightly. His gaze pierced through the dense, noisy crowd of interstellar travelers, locking onto the Black-Armored Men carrying the Metal Crate.
Right at that moment, a massive commotion erupted nearby as a large number of terrified interstellar travelers began running and hiding in all directions.
Accompanied by a furious roar, Sanchez's figure charged out. The long robe on his body was torn to shreds, and his armor had already switched into combat mode. Several blinding laser beams blasted out, throwing the entire lobby into utter, boiling panic.
"Captain, Kansa is in the crate! They're about to put a Thought Seal on Kansa and steal His Royal Highness's property!!!"
The Black-Armored Men jolted in shock. 'Damn, who leaked the information?!'
Boiling Blood jolted in shock. 'Damn, who is trying to steal the Amethyst Core?!'
