Chapter 41: The Game
Tu Rui stared at Li Yu. He did not look down, simply letting his Smart Terminal ring.
This area had been completely cleared. No one was allowed near, and in the empty Arena Passage, only a continuous ring echoed through the air.
"Aren't you going to take a look?" Li Yu asked, his eyes fixed on the device that was noticeably larger than a standard Smart Terminal.
Li Yu could not see the specific display. It was a blurry mess, evidently equipped with a long-distance privacy screen.
Tu Rui frowned. The ringing persisted, and eventually, he raised his hand. With just a single glance, his pupils instantly contracted.
A white icy mist erupted from his body, instantly freezing the nearby walls and covering them in a layer of white frost.
He did not answer the call immediately. Instead, he looked up at Li Yu, squeezing a sentence through his teeth, "If you dare touch my son, I will skin you alive and rip out your tendons."
The Cigar dropped to the floor, its embers gradually dying out as wisps of smoke curled upward.
"Aren't you going to answer?" Li Yu asked again, completely ignoring the threat.
The fangs protruding from his mouth were very short, having barely begun to develop. The blue hue of his skin was so faint it was almost invisible, looking more like a sickly pale white.
"Dad..." he grinned, his voice full of joy.
"Son, what is it? Did something happen?" Tu Rui forced a smile.
"A few Aunties came to see me today, and they brought me so many things. One of them is especially pretty..." the Little Demon Giant said with a sly giggle.
Tu Rui's face suddenly sank, and his mouth twitched before he wrung out another smile. "What about those Bodyguard uncles? Did they not stop them?"
"Why would they stop them? Those Aunties all came to see me," the Little Demon Giant asked in confusion.
"Have they left yet?" Tu Rui asked.
"They just left... Dad, one of them is really pretty, and she is extremely gentle..." The Little Demon Giant clearly had ulterior motives, trying to play matchmaker for Tu Rui.
"Son, I know. Dad still has things to do. I will call you back later tonight," Tu Rui interrupted.
"Oh... alright..." Ignoring the Little Demon Giant's reluctant expression, Tu Rui hung up the call.
"Wow... what an adorable child. Always worrying about his blood-soaked father," Li Yu sighed in admiration.
Tu Rui's expression settled into a deathly calm. "You win. My son is my weakness, and he is also your only chance of survival."
"You were right to use him to threaten me."
Li Yu scoffed. "Manager Tu, do not make me sound like the Villain here."
"You know exactly what you are planning. Honestly, I am just a bit curious. Why are you so obsessed with respect?"
Tu Rui narrowed his eyes. "I will personally go to the Hospital to pick up my son. You have three days left."
"These are your final three days."
Tu Rui was very smart. He knew that Li Yu's people had absolutely no means of taking the Little Demon Giant away, nor did they even have the capability to face those Bodyguards head-on.
They could only use this ambiguous method to make Tu Rui feel Apprehension.
Tu Rui's solution to break this deadlock was extremely simple. He would personally guard the Little Demon Giant until he managed to kill Li Yu.
"Thank you, Manager Tu, for granting me three days..." Li Yu shrugged, walking straight toward Tu Rui.
The distance between the two closed. Suddenly, Li Yu stopped when he was less than ten meters away from Tu Rui. As if he had just remembered something, he said in realization, "Oh, right, there is one more thing..."
"Ding-dong!"
Tu Rui's Smart Terminal chimed once more. This time it was a message notification. It was a message sent from Li Yu, containing an audio clip.
"...My Lord, the infant Troll Heart has arrived. It has been placed in..."
"I know. You may step down..."
It was Taotie's voice, causing Tu Rui's recently calmed emotions to churn wildly once again.
The specific location information that followed had been specially altered, making it impossible to decipher.
"This message is from five days ago..." Li Yu continued. "Taotie has been holding onto the Troll Heart this whole time."
"The poor Little Demon Giant. The opportunity was right in front of him, yet he could not obtain it."
Tu Rui's expression shifted unpredictably, making it impossible to tell exactly what he was thinking.
Li Yu raised his hand, pinching his thumb and index finger together to indicate something tiny.
"I can give you the location information, but I hope Manager Tu can agree to a tiny little condition."
"Why would I not just go directly to Taotie?"
Li Yu shook his head, his tone filled with exasperation. "Manager Tu, what kind of person is Taotie? He is a Bastard with no sense of loyalty. Has he not been hiding this from you the entire time?"
"And most importantly, this location is from five days ago. No one can guarantee that it is still there now."
Widow's connections were still quite formidable. After Li Yu paid the price of owing her a favor, plus one million Star Coins, she brilliantly helped him achieve his goal.
That was right, there was also a favor involved. Otherwise, it would have cost another million. Li Yu never expected his favor to be so valuable. He even wanted to sell a few more to her, but unfortunately, Widow only wanted one.
"What condition?" Naturally, Tu Rui would not just blindly trust Li Yu's words, but there was no harm in listening to his terms.
"I want Citizenship..." Li Yu held up his fingers. "Three of them."
"Impossible!" Tu Rui rejected him outright. The price of three instances of Citizenship was far too high.
"Do not be in such a hurry to refuse. Are there not still many things left to verify?" Li Yu did not bother haggling, simply brushing past Tu Rui.
Heaven only knew how badly Tu Rui wanted to smash his fist into this human's face, but as the visage of the Little Demon Giant surfaced in his mind, he held himself back.
"Phew..." Li Yu let out a long sigh of relief. Even though he had been planning this for a long time, there were still some uncertain variables when facing Tu Rui directly.
His Lounge had already been completely surrounded by fully armed guards from Tyron Tower. Hunter was clutching his stomach, under close watch alongside Mo Duo, neither of them daring to move.
"Huh... Hunter, what happened to you?" Ignoring the Psionic Light Guns aimed at him, Li Yu looked at Hunter's ashen face in confusion.
"A few people were cursing you, and Hunter got into a fight with them," Mo Duo explained.
Hunter forced a smile and nodded, though he was deeply perplexed inside. Why did he have no memory of this happening?
"Not bad. It seems you have finally started acknowledging me as your master," Li Yu nodded in satisfaction.
Hunter's expression instantly stiffened, utterly losing any sense of tension from being held at gunpoint. He cursed Li Yu silently in his heart.
"Alright, guys, stop pointing those at us..." Li Yu pushed the gun barrels aside, shoved open the doors to the Lounge, and walked right in.
Hunter and Mo Duo hurried after him. The guards could only look at each other in dismay, ultimately deciding not to leave and continuing to tightly surround the Lounge.
"You actually didn't get beaten to death?" Hunter expressed his sheer amazement.
"Because I sold you to Tu Rui's son to be his Child Bride..."
Hunter blinked. There were so many things wrong with that sentence, he didn't even know where to begin retorting.
