Chapter 60: None of My Business
Mo Duo was confused, unable to understand the meaning of that statement. Although she could not detect Li Yu's emotions, she could sense Hunter's surprise.
'What is he so surprised about?'
Naturally, Li Yu did not offer an explanation. Doctor Yuan felt mentally exhausted and quietly took off his mask, hoping to dispel the other party's suspicions.
Who could have known that the other party was already absolutely certain he was an Imperial Noble...
"I do not know who told you this information, but they harbor absolutely no good intentions. The current situation is volatile. Why must you involve yourselves in this?"
Doctor Yuan's words carried a pointed implication. He meant that even if he was an Imperial Noble, it was not a matter they could interfere with, and they should just find somewhere else to play.
Li Yu naturally understood, but he also felt somewhat helpless. "To be honest, I really didn't want to get involved, but I was forced into this situation."
"I really just don't want to die..."
Doctor Yuan looked a bit puzzled. "Why would you die? Aren't there many people in the Capital just obediently staying in their homes? If you just find a random sewer to hide in, who would bother with you?"
Doctor Yuan closed his eyes and took a deep breath, his perfectly long eyelashes trembling slightly. Was there even a difference between the two?
"You are a scandal to the Star Glory Empire. Although I do not know why the Star Glory Empire hasn't blown this planet to pieces yet, it is definitely not because of you."
Although Li Yu was merely guessing, he spoke with absolute certainty. How long had the Imperial Nobles ruled the Star Glory Empire?
Indecisive? Sentimental? Such traits absolutely did not exist among them!
"That is correct..." Doctor Yuan looked slightly dazed, his voice carrying a mix of hesitation and longing. "It is because there is someone else here..."
"A woman?" Li Yu recalled the information he received from Widow. The reason this Imperial Noble was exiled seemed to be because of a woman.
"The seventy-sixth daughter of the Lady of the Night..." Doctor Yuan's eyes brightened slightly as if recalling something; it was a beautiful period in his life.
"The Lady of the Night?" Li Yu was somewhat confused upon hearing the name.
"One of the twelve councilors of the Radiant Federation, the Color of Eternal Silence—the Lady of the Night," Hunter explained at the perfect moment.
"Your strength is quite weak, but you sure know a lot," Mo Duo remarked coldly.
Hunter found this completely baffling. Why was she snapping at him? Had he offended her?
However, considering the bizarre relationship between Li Yu and Mo Duo, he held his tongue.
"A foreign princess, huh? Don't tell me it's one of those cliché stories..." Li Yu realized, looking at Doctor Yuan, who was lost in his memories.
This esteemed Imperial Noble clearly had no psychological desire to pour his heart out to others. His eyes gradually dimmed as he let out a sigh.
"That's right... With her here, the Star Glory Empire cannot make a move unless they wish to provoke a diplomatic dispute and affect their political interests..."
Although his Imperial Gene had been stripped away, the education and systematic, structured upbringing he had received since childhood still revealed themselves effortlessly.
Li Yu threw his hands up. "So, who knows if that esteemed princess might leave one day? Then the Star Glory Empire will just blast Heavenly Desolation Star to pieces with a single shot and pin the blame on Dark Star. Where am I supposed to go to complain about that?"
Then, with a hint of a rogue's grin, he added, "Therefore, if I want to stay alive, I have to rely on you..."
"How are you so familiar with this routine?" Doctor Yuan asked, somewhat surprised. Based on his understanding of the Star Glory Empire's High Echelon, the final outcome would most likely be exactly that.
"I've seen it all before..."
Whether it was ruling the Starry Sky or ruling half a planet, while technology advanced by leaps and bounds, political tactics rarely saw any qualitative leaps.
"So what can you even do if you find that Imperial Noble?" Although Doctor Yuan had hinted at it several times, he still refused to personally admit that he was the Imperial Noble.
Perhaps it was due to some lingering resentment... After all, he had been exiled.
Li Yu smiled, revealing his pristine white teeth. However, this smile sent a shiver down Doctor Yuan's spine.
"Originally, I really didn't know what I could do upon finding you..." Li Yu muttered as if talking to himself.
"Hand you straight over to the Star Glory Empire? I highly doubt they'd think anything of a Scavenger like me, much less give me a reasonable reward."
"Turn you over to the Tyron Chamber of Commerce? Sorry, but I trust them even less..."
"My plan was that, no matter what happens, I'd keep you firmly in my grasp first. At least that way, I wouldn't die a meaningless death."
Doctor Yuan looked at this softly speaking young man and suddenly felt a surge of cold dread.
This was a feeling he had never experienced even from his dazzling older brothers.
"But now, I have a new plan..." Li Yu finally concluded. Doctor Yuan had already raised the Silver Holy Spear in his hand again, aiming it squarely at Li Yu.
When facing an enemy, he never lacked decisiveness!
"Too late, my esteemed Royal Highness..."
Li Yu shook his head, completely unbothered. In that split second, Doctor Yuan pulled the trigger, but a piece of metal abruptly wedged itself in, blocking the mechanism.
At the same time, his limbs and torso were covered by a purple metal. It was Purple Sniper, who had stealthily crept up behind Doctor Yuan at some unknown moment.
"You simply do not have the ability to negotiate terms with anyone..." Doctor Yuan said with a trace of anger. Veins bulged on his forehead, yet he maintained his grace, keeping his expressions perfectly managed.
"I know..." Li Yu casually strolled around the Clinic, picked out a Latex Mouthguard, and shoved it into Doctor Yuan's mouth to prevent him from trying anything foolish.
"That's why I'm planning to use you as a gift..." Li Yu shrugged, speaking with complete nonchalance.
He rummaged around for a bit and pulled out a Mechanical Box. He inspected it for a moment and nodded in satisfaction.
"Are there any pink ribbons or something around here? How can I give a gift without tying a bow..." Li Yu muttered to himself.
Words like 'bunny ears' and 'turtle-shell bondage' reached Doctor Yuan's ears, leaving him trembling with fear as some shocking speculations formed in his mind.
He suddenly realized that he seemed to have run into a complete lunatic.
"You cannot give me... give me to her!" Doctor Yuan's voice rose a pitch, still struggling to suppress his immense anger. This restraint was already the result of years of excellent upbringing within the Star Glory Empire.
Indeed, he had figured out Li Yu's intentions. He was going to give him as a gift to her—the daughter of the Lady of the Night!
"Why can't I..." Li Yu did not even look back. Out of nowhere, he produced a pile of pink ribbons. Doctor Yuan himself did not even know the Clinic had such things.
"Because her goal is to research and crack the Imperial Gene," Doctor Yuan explained.
"Crack the Imperial Gene? Wasn't the Imperial Gene in your body already stripped away?" Li Yu asked, a bit puzzled.
"It was stripped away, but it did exist once. There are still residual traces left behind. With their methods, it's more than enough for them to research many things." Doctor Yuan no longer cared about anything else, desperately hoping to completely dispel Li Yu's dangerous idea.
"Oh..." Li Yu's reaction was extremely flat.
"If they manage to research anything, it will cause immense harm to the Star Glory Empire."
Li Yu paused, turned his head, and met Doctor Yuan's expectant gaze before declaring, "None of my business."
