Chapter 63: Princess of the Night
A black metal throne levitated in mid-air. A tall, graceful woman reclined upon it, one hand draped casually over the armrest while the other propped up her cheek.
Pitch-black hair cascaded down the sides of the throne. She wore a sheer, black gown adorned with ancient patterns outlined in gold thread.
Her fair, long legs were crossed, creating a striking visual contrast against the dark, diaphanous skirt. Her figure was captivatingly Alluring, and her beauty was simply breathtaking.
Her eyes sparkled with intelligence. Between her brows rested a complex, symmetrical black mark shaped like a crescent moon, radiating an exotic and striking beauty.
This was the Princess of the Night!
Several warriors clad in pitch-black armor lined both sides. It was ancient armor, not mechanical suits, and they wielded Black Long Spears that exuded a chilling aura of death.
Not far away, holographic projections arrayed in the air displayed scenes from all over Heavenly Desolation Star. Silvery-white data transmission lines tangled together, disappearing beneath a massive, black-robed shadow.
"Ten-Eyed... is there still no trace?" the Princess of the Night asked with a hint of languor.
The massive black-robed shadow stood a full three meters tall. It trembled slightly and raised its head. As the black hood slipped back, it revealed a bald giant.
The most striking feature was his ten pale eyes, each swirling with countless, complex Data Streams.
"Apologies, Your Royal Highness... I have cross-referenced the entire Database of Heavenly Desolation Star, but I cannot find a single trace," he replied, his voice somewhat hollow and hoarse.
"The flawless plan from back then has actually become the key to his concealment... My prince, why must you hide?"
She tapped against the metal throne, her beautiful face filled with doubt and confusion.
Back in the Clinic, Moduo frowned as she looked at Li Yu, who had suddenly fallen into a stupor with his hand still stretched open.
Hunter glanced at Moduo, pulled down the brim of his hat, and remained silent.
"You brought this upon yourself, do not blame me," Moduo gritted her teeth. She took the green bead from her pocket and placed it into Li Yu's hand.
Doctor Yuan stared at the green bead, his pupils slightly dilating. 'This thing... I think I have seen it somewhere before...'
Aboard the Spaceship, feeling his vision gradually blurring, he knew his Mental Power was nearly depleted.
However, this time was much better than the previous two attempts. At the very least, he had clearly heard a few lines of conversation.
Yet, in the very next moment, he distinctly felt the Spice begin to burn intensely. It had originally only been half consumed, but now the remaining half ignited as well.
A terrifying surge of Mental Power rushed forth. Inside the cabin, a golden thread suddenly appeared, beginning to outline something in the Void.
"Your Royal Highness!"
The Ten-Eyed Giant realized something was wrong immediately. He let out a muffled growl as the pale whiteness in his ten eyes slowly faded, revealing normal pupils.
The armored warriors on both sides also stepped forward and drew their Black Long Spears. A silvery-white power slowly rose from them, glowing like pristine moonlight.
"Wait," the Princess of the Night waved her hand and descended from the throne. Her bare feet stepped onto the Obsidian-like floor. The intertwining of black and white created a dazzling, beautiful aesthetic.
'It is a pity that brain-damaged Imperial Noble might have gone inside...'
The golden threads continued to sketch, forming a hazy silhouette constructed entirely of luminous strands without any physical flesh and blood. It looked like a wireframe stepped straight out of a painting, barely recognizable as human.
Li Yu was also somewhat surprised. He had not expected the Spice to possess such an effect when supplied with ample Mental Power. 'Is this a Mental Power projection?'
"Excuse me," she paused a short distance from the golden wireframe figure, leaving a comfortable buffer zone. "Who are you?"
She asked with apparent politeness.
"Greetings, Your Royal Highness," Li Yu returned the polite greeting. His voice was ethereal and distant, as if echoing from another dimension.
"You are too polite," a smile blossomed on the Princess of the Night's face.
'Oh... she seems to think I have an extraordinary background or incredible Strength, all because of this Mental Power projection...' Observing her attitude, Li Yu formed a guess and, simultaneously, an idea.
"When asking for a favor, it is only natural to be courteous," Li Yu said in a placid tone. He paced around the cabin, drawing wary looks from the Guard Corps.
"Please, speak your mind," her smile grew even more Alluring, her gaze following Li Yu's movements.
"On this planet, there is someone with whom I share a very close relationship. I would like to ask you to rescue him." He did not elaborate too much, fearing he might slip up.
"When a master makes a request, it stands to reason that I should offer my full support." The Princess of the Night wore a thoughtful expression before her tone shifted. "However..."
'A master?' Li Yu remained outwardly impassive, quietly waiting for her to continue.
"Although Heavenly Desolation Star appears calm on the surface, turbulent undercurrents surge beneath. Who knows how many people are watching me? If I..." She frowned deeply, looking somewhat troubled.
'To put it bluntly, you just want some benefits,' Li Yu was rendered Speechless.
"Rest assured, the person closely associated with me has already prepared a gift for you." Li Yu had anticipated this.
"Oh?" Her interest was piqued, and her eyes lit up slightly.
"A person. Someone you have been eagerly expecting..." Li Yu hinted.
The Princess of the Night's heart constricted sharply. 'Did someone find him?'
She calmed her emotions and probed carefully, "Are you certain you are the one asking me for a favor?"
No matter how she looked at it, the other party seemed to be coming to the table with bargaining chips to negotiate terms.
Li Yu wanted exactly that. With an Imperial Noble in hand, how could he not squeeze out some benefits?
But the problem was... he was just Putting On Airs. He did not have any actual backing. If he overplayed his hand, he would be in deep trouble.
"I do not care much about the person you need. I only care about... my person," Li Yu shook his head.
"I understand," the Princess of the Night mused thoughtfully. 'Delivering him right to my door... is he trying to build a connection with the Radiant Council?'
Everyone knew the value of an Imperial Noble. The other party's actions seemed more like a gesture of goodwill.
'Is it some master-level figure from the Star Glory Empire, or has some great noble started harboring ulterior motives?'
'What exactly did you understand?' Li Yu found this completely Baffling...
"This is my communication code. Simply have your person dial it." She listed a string of numbers, which Li Yu committed to memory.
"I look forward to cooperating with you again," the Princess of the Night gave a slight nod. Crossing her arms over her chest to form the shape of a full moon, she performed an ancient bow.
Li Yu followed her lead and mimicked a Christian prayer gesture.
The golden wireframe figure shattered instantly, dispersing into a sparse, fading glow.
"Collect that substance!" the Princess of the Night ordered.
Unfortunately, after the Spice was completely consumed, nothing remained but useless motes of light.
'Which faction's ancient etiquette was that...?' The Princess of the Night pondered his final gesture, but could not match it to any known power.
