Chapter 84: What Kind of Interstellar Joke Is This
The expressions of the two Red Fox-people instantly turned completely foul. That Gus-person glanced at Li Yu, then looked at the two Red Fox-people, blinking his eyes in confusion.
"Roar!"
With a furious bellow, the Gus-person charged at the red foxes. His massive corporeal form stomped across the metal floor, producing heavy, echoing thuds!
"Damn it, Idiot!" the two red foxes cursed aloud, nimbly dodging the charging Gus-person. Seeing their boss make a move, the remaining two Gus-people stopped watching from the sidelines. With a deafening roar, they lunged forward as well.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The Red Fox Brothers drew the Dual Pistols from their waists. As they leaped and tumbled around the space, their Tacit Understanding was utterly flawless, weaving four lines of fire to create an intersecting blockade in mid-air.
However, the three Gus-people possessed incredibly thick skin and tough flesh, allowing them to barrel straight through the barrage of gunfire. Although they looked like monkeys being toyed with, the Red Fox Brothers felt absolutely no satisfaction of holding the upper hand.
The One-Eyed Fox whipped out a Purple Bomb. Seeing this, the other fox immediately understood the strategy. It lightly pushed off a Gus-person's head with its foot, vaulting up while firing its guns at the other two Gus-people.
Instantly, the other two Gus-people charged madly in its direction. Just as the three Gus-people clumped together, the fox executed a backward somersault, swiftly bounding away from the danger zone.
Simultaneously... thick purple Electric Arcs surged wildly. The three Gus-people howled in agony as their bodies convulsed until their eyes rolled to the back of their heads, completely passing out.
"Clean and efficient!" Li Yu praised, clapping his hands together. The Red Fox Brothers strode over with extremely hostile expressions.
"We two brothers did not Provoke Trouble with you, did we..." the One-Eyed Fox glared at him viciously, its missing eye concealed by a black eyepatch—an edgy aesthetic that would absolutely thrill any furry enthusiast.
"I did not Provoke Trouble with those three either..." Li Yu casually shrugged his shoulders.
The One-Eyed Fox paused in surprise, then hissed coldly, "So you decided to drag us into this?"
"Do people really need a reason to do things around here? Who exactly is the Newcomer... you or me?" Li Yu sounded somewhat exasperated.
"Haha... Red Fox Brothers, does a Marauder need a reason to act?"
"Getting lectured by a Newcomer, haha..."
The surrounding Marauders immediately erupted into a chorus of mocking laughter.
The expressions of the two foxes fluctuated wildly. Suddenly, the One-Eyed Fox's figure blurred, appearing right in front of Li Yu's face. Li Yu simply narrowed his eyes, showing zero reaction.
"In that case, let me give you a taste of what a real Marauder is!" It tilted its head up and swung a vicious punch directly at Li Yu's temple, sharp Knuckle Dusters already glinting on its hand.
It let out a sadistic laugh, acting as if it could already envision the sight of Li Yu's head bursting open.
Bullet Time activated. In Li Yu's vision, the opponent's movements slowed down to an agonizing crawl.
He took a casual half-step back, causing the strike to completely hit empty air. At the exact same moment, he raised his leg and delivered a brutal kick, sending the fox soaring backward through the air.
Intense agony forced the creature to curl its body into a tight ball as fresh blood spilled from its mouth... A heavy sense of Apprehension finally crept into its single eye.
These two foxes were most likely D-Class Lifeforms as well, but their Gene Chains appeared to be quite subpar, leaving them relatively weak.
"Brother!" the other fox roared ferociously, whipping out its Dual Pistols and unloading a frenzied spray of bullets at Li Yu.
A faint layer of purple electricity coated the surface of Li Yu's corporeal form. His figure blurred completely, and in the blink of an eye, he closed the distance to his attacker.
The bullets struck the Purple Sniper, echoing with a series of sharp, metallic clinking sounds.
Spreading his left hand open, the muscles in his arm violently bulged as he slammed his palm ruthlessly against the left side of the opponent's head, crushing it heavily into the solid floor.
Crack!
Following a muffled thud, the fox's eyes rolled to the back of its head. It lay paralyzed on the ground, twitching uncontrollably as purple electricity coursed through it. Gradually, the fox completely lost all Vital Signs.
An instant kill with a single strike!
This was the absolute disparity in power. The immense suppression caused by the gap in various skills and Gene Chains meant that even though they were both D-Class Lifeforms, the opponent was instantly obliterated by Li Yu.
"Brother!" A shrill, heart-wrenching scream transported Li Yu's memories right back to the Blue Sky Building. He immediately raised his guard, thinking this opponent was about to abruptly mutate as well.
The One-Eyed Fox stared at Li Yu with an incredibly chilling gaze, yet in the very next second, it turned on its heel and desperately tried to flee.
"Stop!" Li Yu uttered in a bizarre, commanding tone. The One-Eyed Fox's body instantly locked up. Under the utterly dumbfounded gazes of the surrounding crowd, it froze completely in place.
Li Yu casually retrieved the dropped gun from the ground and slowly approached the One-Eyed Fox, murmuring softly,
"I am a Newcomer, so being looked down upon and maliciously targeted... I can understand that..."
"Therefore, using you to establish my dominance and save myself future trouble... you should be able to understand that too, right?"
"After all... since you chose the life of a Marauder, you should have already foreseen your own ending."
Li Yu pressed the barrel of the gun directly against the back of the One-Eyed Fox's head. With a deafening blast, a bullet exploded straight out from the center of its forehead.
The somewhat famous Red Fox Brothers perished just like that...
"Everyone... I suppose I do not count as a Newcomer anymore, right?" Li Yu turned to face the room, flashing an incredibly friendly smile.
Looking at the center of the hall... at the interstellar human beaming radiantly, the vast majority of the crowd actually did not dare to meet his gaze. Bear in mind, these were all infamous Marauders!
"Damn, I am seriously starting to feel like this kid is terrifying," Hunter mumbled quietly under his breath.
Li Yu skillfully stripped the gear off the two foxes. They did not have anything particularly valuable; the best loot consisted of their four guns, which merely qualified as E-rank items.
This was more than enough to prove that most bottom-tier Marauders were genuinely impoverished and led rather miserable lives.
"Their most valuable possessions are all stashed on their spaceship..." Hunter explained.
"A spaceship!?" Li Yu's eyes lit up with predatory greed. A spaceship capable of interstellar navigation cost at least hundreds of millions of Star Coins for the absolute cheapest model. Granted... that was for one fresh out of the factory...
The majority of vessels flown by Marauders were battered scrap buckets that had changed hands an unknown number of times.
"Brother... all ownerless spaceships default to the Pale Land. Do not even think about claiming it..." someone thoughtfully reminded him. It served as proof that his violent display of dominance had worked perfectly; nobody was willing to cross a Ruthless and remarkably powerful Marauder.
And they certainly did not mind offering him a small favor to get on his good side...
"Fuck..." Li Yu was completely Speechless. As expected, running the platform itself was always the most profitable business model.
"Thanks for the heads-up... Let us exchange contact information... I go by... the God Slayer." Li Yu casually added the person's contact details.
The other party introduced himself as the Star King. His level of Eighth-Grade Syndrome easily gave the God Slayer a run for his money.
The Star King was an Enville, somewhat resembling an elf... He was extraordinarily handsome, classifying him as what the Interstellar Society commonly dubbed the Flower Vase People. Because of their incredibly outstanding physical appearances, they were predominantly employed in the service industry.
The Tyron Chamber of Commerce extensively hired this exact race, much in the same way the Sacred Heart Hospital primarily employed the Fossas.
The fact that an infamous Marauder could actually emerge from the delicate Flower Vase People was truly an absurd notion.
It was exactly like that exceptionally famous Interstellar Joke...
When a Marauder shows up to rob you... a Four-Armed Titan will smash him to an absolute pulp.
A Fossa will faint on the spot from sheer terror...
And an Enville will politely ask the Marauder if he prefers a small portion of his Star Coins, a large portion, or an extra-large portion.
Naturally, this joke inflicted a considerable amount of insult upon the Envilles.
In fact, the Interstellar Species Rights Protection Organization had once severely condemned this precise joke.
