Chapter 91: Mavi, Your Crimes Are Unforgivable!
"I ask, you answer... Nod if you understand, and take your hands off your face..." Li Yu's tone was indifferent as he spoke to Li Ping.
Li Ping nodded profusely, his eyes trembling as he slowly lowered the hands covering his mouth.
The Hunter stepped forward to search him with a resentful expression. This kind of grunt work had now fallen on his shoulders, especially since Mo Duo was currently suspected to be the matriarch.
Meanwhile, Li Yu's current gaze looked like it could kill. How could he stoop to a trivial task like a body search? Therefore, the Hunter had no choice but to do it himself.
Stripped of his Smart Terminal and various metal items, Li Ping was forced to squat on the ground while Li Yu toyed with the pale gold Smart Terminal.
The device resembled a wristwatch. Although the functions were mostly identical to standard models, thanks to the interstellar Capitalists, it had been developed into a luxury version of a Smart Terminal.
"Tell me about that Spaceship..." Li Yu kept his head down as Data Streams flowed from his Smart Terminal to Li Ping's.
"That... that is the Mavi... It is... a custom Spaceship that Mavi spent one billion Star Coins to build. It is equipped with the Dawnlight Warp Engine, a Leviathan nano-hull, a Super Psionic Main Cannon, and Banshee Mayfly Cannons..."
Li Ping spoke with a trembling voice. Clients who customized such Spaceships were all major figures. He already had a vague sense of what Li Yu was planning, and the realization filled him with despair.
Claptrap was currently hacking into the other party's Smart Terminal. Having the Authority password would be like having the master key...
"" Li Ping hastily replied. Even if he was despairing over the future, if he didn't survive the present, he wouldn't even have the right to despair.
"Continue..." Li Yu didn't even look up, his voice flat and emotionless.
"That is all..." Li Ping shook his head in fear. "I don't know the exact specifications too well... I am just a salesman..."
"How is it activated?" Li Yu asked.
"It requires Mavi's vital sign verification..." The so-called vital signs included, but were not limited to, fingerprints, iris scans, genes, and voiceprints...
"Is there no other way?" the Hunter frowned. Needing Mavi's vital signs was truly a thorny issue.
"No... It was already configured when the Spaceship left the factory... Without those, it is absolutely impossible to start it..." Li Ping gritted his teeth. He genuinely had no alternatives to offer.
"How about..." The Hunter pondered for a moment before probing, "We secure a different Spaceship and leave this place first. Since that Old Six already spoke, he will definitely give us an explanation."
"The explanation he provides and my revenge are two completely different things." Li Yu's expression was indifferent. It was exactly this kind of apathy that occasionally sent chills down the Hunter's spine.
Immediately after, under Li Ping's terrified gaze, Li Yu's body began to shift. His nose, ears, and mouth morphed... as if forming a mirror that perfectly reflected Li Ping's own appearance.
However, the reflection in this mirror was wearing entirely different clothes.
"You... you... you..." Li Ping's eyes widened in shock. Even Optical Mimicry shouldn't be this incredible, right? It could even alter the color of one's pupils?
"You... you... you..." Li Yu mimicked Li Ping's mannerisms flawlessly, though the depths of his eyes remained icy and aloof. His expression abruptly changed as he commanded:
"Take off your clothes..."
Filled with an inexplicable sense of grief and indignation, Li Ping began to strip.
There was a slight height difference between them, but it wasn't overly noticeable.
Li Yu assessed their heights. He had now perfectly assumed Li Ping's form, while the real Li Ping squatted in the corner, curling his body and shivering incessantly.
"You are planning to make a move on Mavi!?" The Hunter finally grasped Li Yu's true intention.
This kid's objective was never the Spaceship to begin with; his target had been Mavi all along.
"He is a core figure for the Black Skull here, heavily protected by multiple layers of security. Plus, there is that Troll. None of them are easy to deal with..." The Hunter grew anxious and tried to advise against it.
He highly discouraged such a reckless course of action...
"No..." Li Yu shook his head. "Letting him live for even one more minute makes me feel like ants are crawling all over my body."
That flat tone gave the Hunter a creeping sense of dread. This guy... was simply too terrifying.
"You try talking him out of it... I give up..." The Hunter sat on the floor, utterly speechless. From Li Yu's angle, all he could see was a completely bald head.
"Be careful..." Mo Duo merely offered those two words. Her complexion was still somewhat pale, her brows slightly furrowed, and her amber pupils darted away the moment they met Li Yu's gaze.
The Hunter remained speechless.
"Keep an eye on him... If he tries anything funny, kill him immediately..." Li Yu instructed.
............
Inside Mavi's Black Market Warehouse, in the second-floor office, Baal was furious. His eyes were bloodshot, and he panted like an ox, looking as though he wanted to tear everything in sight to shreds.
"My brothers are dead! All of them slaughtered! Mavi, what the hell is going on here!"
Mavi was also feeling agitated. Although Baal acted like a furiously stupid ox, Mavi wasn't afraid. "I have no idea!"
"Who exactly were those people!? Why did you kill them!" Baal wanted nothing more than to smash this Goblin's head open, but his last shred of rationality held him back.
"Calm down!" Mavi's brow twitched violently. Baal's voice was booming in his ears like claps of thunder.
"Let me tell you, just wait for The Lord's wrath. I have absolutely nothing to do with this matter; these were your orders!" Baal squeezed the words out through gritted teeth.
Mavi was briefly taken aback... Damn it, this Troll was trying to Shift Blame, acting as devastated as if his own father had died.
"Heh..." Mavi sneered coldly. "The Lord won't blame me. Do you even know who gave that command..."
He suddenly stopped mid-sentence, too lazy to explain further to this Troll. His superior IQ naturally gave him a sense of superiority over Baal.
Seeing him speak in half-truths, Baal grew even more infuriated. However, he wasn't about to beg for an explanation and simply spun around to leave.
Boom!
Baal ruthlessly smashed through the Mechanical Door, not even bothering to wait for it to fully open.
"Baal!" Mavi shouted, his face twisting in rage!
He fumed with anger, but ultimately just let out a cold sneer. 'An absolute Idiot! You will get yourself killed sooner or later!'
Right at that moment, a Fossas attendant walked in somewhat timidly and whispered, "Your Excellency Mavi, a man named Li Ping wishes to see you..."
"Li Ping?" Mavi was slightly stunned. 'Isn't that the salesman? What is he doing here?'
"Let him in..." Since it concerned his one-billion Star Coins Spaceship, he actually cared quite a bit.
"Wait..." He stopped the Fossas attendant as she was about to leave. "Take him for a stroll around the place first... Bring him to see me in a little while."
"Yes, sir..."
Li Yu stood at the entrance of the Warehouse. Without the password, he couldn't get in, so he just quietly observed his surroundings.
"Filthy Goblin!"
"Idiot Goblin!"
"I will blow your head off sooner or later!" Baal strode out, Muttering Curses, and led his men straight away from the premises.
He didn't even cast a glance at the suit-wearing Interstellar Human standing by the door.
"Come in..." the guard grunted in a muffled voice. A Fossas attendant was waiting for him. Her posture was elegant, making it clear at a glance that she had undergone specialized training.
"Your Excellency Mavi has important matters to attend to. You will need to wait for a brief moment..." she said in a soft, gentle voice.
The atmosphere here was no different from his last visit. Within the massive Warehouse, hundreds of Marauders were currently haggling and trading, with a constant stream of people coming and going.
"It is too noisy out here. Could we... find a quieter spot..." Li Yu requested, pretending to be slightly inconvenienced.
"Of course..." The attendant gave a slight nod and led Li Yu to the second floor, heading in the opposite direction of Mavi's office.
There was a reception room here that isolated the outside noise, making it quite peaceful. Li Yu glanced at the security camera in the corner, his eyes flickering.
"Please wait here for a moment... Do you require anything else?" The attendant nodded, turning to close the door and leave.
Li Yu pondered for a moment before answering, "I want liquor, cigars, and a good meal. Better yet, find a few beautiful women to keep me company..."
Hearing Li Yu's brazen demands, she paused for a moment... before lowering her voice, "Please wait a moment, I will go make the preparations..."
After she left, Li Yu didn't hesitate for a second. He pushed the door open and also slipped out. Glancing around, he noted that the second floor featured a circular Metal Corridor that offered a clear view of the bustling scene below.
"Master, the firewall here is quite sophisticated. I am having a hard time breaching it..." Claptrap's voice rang out, but Li Yu was not surprised in the slightest.
"Scan the nearby security cameras and locate their blind spots..."
This was child's play for Claptrap. Several camera blind spots were immediately highlighted. Li Yu strolled down the Metal Corridor as if he were walking around his own home.
Whenever Staff Members occasionally cast scrutinizing glances his way, he confidently stared them down with an equally sharp gaze.
Roughly five minutes later, he located his target—the security control room.
For a Warehouse this massive that hosted countless Marauders daily, it was impossible not to have robust security measures in place.
The room was sealed behind a heavy metal door. Li Yu shot it a quick glance from a distance. As he passed through a camera's blind spot, his appearance morphed entirely into that of the Fossas attendant from earlier.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
The sudden knocking startled the Marauders inside, who were currently Shooting The Breeze. The room was illuminated by flashing warning lights, and a massive Holographic Screen was divided into countless smaller feeds.
"Who is it!?" one Marauder instinctively called out.
"You absolute Idiot, check the cameras!" another Marauder laughed and scolded.
"Huh... It is actually Yisi!" he exclaimed in surprise.
Yisi was one of Mavi's personal aides. Why would she suddenly come here?
"Why is she dressed in a sharp suit..." someone muttered in confusion, before letting out a sleazy chuckle. "Gotta admit, it actually gives her a pretty unique flavor."
"Haha... Maybe she came down here to reward the boys..."
They brazenly tossed around dirty jokes until their laughter gradually subsided. Only then did someone finally speak through the intercom, "Miss Yisi, how can we help you?"
"Your Excellency Mavi sent me to deliver some orders..." Her voice sounded inexplicably strange.
"Deliver orders?" One of the Marauders felt something was off. "Doesn't he normally just send them over the network?"
"These orders shouldn't leave a digital trail..." she explained. "After all... His Excellency Baal just nearly... injured Your Excellency Mavi..."
The Marauders' expressions shifted. They had naturally seen Baal smash through Mavi's door with absolute clarity on the monitors.
The power struggle between these big shots was not something low-level grunts like them could afford to get involved in...
Someone subconsciously gulped. "Well..."
"Never mind, I will just have Your Excellency Mavi come down here himself..." Li Yu made a show of turning to leave.
"Wait!" A Marauder hurriedly slammed the door release button. He had zero desire to personally experience Mavi's ruthless methods.
A few others blanched, but it was already too late to stop him.
Hum!
As the heavy Mechanical Door slid open, Li Yu stared down the group of anxious Marauders and commanded, "Stop!"
Their bodies instantly went rigid, paralyzing them entirely. Li Yu stepped into the security room and reverted to Li Ping's appearance.
"The Authority password..." Li Yu lifted the control over a single person and asked with utter indifference.
"No... No..." the man shook his head in terror, still unable to comprehend what was happening.
Snap!
His eyes rolled into the back of his head, and he collapsed dead onto the floor...
"The Authority password..."
"I... You... The highest Authority is held by Your Excellency Mavi..." the second man explained at breakneck speed.
Snap!
"The Authority password..."
", this is for the Secondary Authority!"
The third man finally skipped the nonsense and gave Li Yu the answer he wanted.
"Claptrap, tap into the security controls... Locate the ventilation system, disable the external circulation, and maximize the internal circulation..." Li Yu instructed.
With Secondary Authority... taking control of a mere ventilation system was no problem at all.
He forcibly ripped open the overhead ventilation duct. The vent was small, barely the size of an infant's head, but it was more than enough to accommodate The Fallen - Revelry.
This was Nerve Gas sourced from Dark Star. It had been potent enough to neutralize Hel's subordinates without an issue, so dealing with a bunch of common Marauders would be child's play.
After a quick setup, Li Yu looked at the remaining paralyzed Marauders and shook his head. "Kill yourselves!"
Checking the perimeter to ensure no one was around, he opened the door... Having reverted back to Li Ping's disguise, Li Yu calmly walked out.
He went down the stairs and walked out the door. Everything went flawlessly without the slightest hitch. A massive crowd of Marauders was still locked in fierce arguments over the Buy-back Prices.
Upstairs, Mavi was pinching the bridge of his nose while on a comms call... He appeared extremely distressed.
"Why is there some guy dressed like a corporate dog standing by the door..." A group of boisterous Marauders approached from a distance, lugging a heavy Metal Box between them.
People wearing sharp suits were an exceptionally rare sight in this place.
Li Yu shot them a fleeting glance and ignored them, keeping his head down as he checked the time.
"We are talking to you, didn't you hear?" one of them, a Manatee-Person, barked angrily. He was incredibly massive, sporting heavily muscled pectorals.
"Ten... nine... eight... seven..." Li Yu whispered a countdown.
"What the fuck are you muttering about!?" The Manatee-Person stepped forward, ready to get physical.
"...Three... two... one... It begins..." Li Yu lifted his head. In the very next second, piercing alarm sirens blared throughout the entire Warehouse.
"Ultra-high level Energy Fluctuation detected... Please evacuate immediately... Beep... Beep... Initiating Full-Scale Lockdown..."
Armed with the Secondary Authority, there was a lot Claptrap could accomplish. Creating a Virtual Emergency State and bypassing the standard evacuation timer to instantly trigger a lockdown was one of them.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!
As the Manatee-Person stared in dumbfounded shock, thick metal barricades slammed down one after another, thoroughly sealing off the entire Warehouse.
"What... is going on?" He unconsciously took a few steps back.
Inside the Warehouse, everyone froze. The Marauders instinctively raised their Weapons, scanning their surroundings with heightened vigilance.
"Damn it, who is behind this!"
"Where are the Black Skull guards!"
"Get the hell out here and explain!"
In the face of unknown terror, even the fearsome reputation of the Black Skull wasn't enough to keep them cowed!
Yisi pushed open the door, holding a bottle of fine wine. Behind her, several gorgeous attendants carried platters of mouth-watering food.
However, she couldn't help but stand there in a daze as she stared into the completely empty reception room.
Mavi's expression changed drastically. He vaulted out of his chair and rushed to lean over the metal railing, staring down at the chaotic scene unfolding below.
Bloody skirmishes had already started breaking out. Restraint? Such a concept simply did not exist for Marauders!
Wisps of black smoke began blowing out from the ventilation grates all across the facility.
"Old Weil, I have been sick of the sight of you for a long time now! Are you the one playing tricks!?" Two elderly, missing-limbed Marauders were hurling furious insults at each other.
"You... Haha... Hahaha... Hahaha!" Old Weil suddenly burst into uproarious laughter.
"What the... what the hell are you laughing at... You... Haha... Hahaha!"
"Haha... Hahaha!"
More and more people began to roar with laughter. They laughed until they lost all their strength, unable to even fire their weapons. Clutching their stomachs, they laughed uncontrollably.
They probably hadn't laughed this wildly in years, rolling around on the floor in fits of absolute hysteria—yet their eyes were completely brimming with sheer, unadulterated terror.
Mavi's pupils shrank. His tiny frame exploded with terrifying speed as he darted back into his office, grabbed a Gas Mask, and shoved it onto his head. It looked just like a Fish Tank.
This was a fully enclosed Gas Mask. Ordinary gas masks only filtered the air, but advanced Nerve Gas could easily bypass such basic filtration systems.
This specific Gas Mask, however, came equipped with its own internal oxygen supply, eliminating the need to filter external air altogether.
Boisterous laughter echoed throughout the entire Warehouse, plunging Mavi into deep terror. He frantically fumbled with his Smart Terminal, only to find that there was absolutely no network connection; the signal had been entirely jammed.
Outside the Warehouse, the Manatee-Person was temporarily stunned by this sudden turn of events, not daring to make a rash move against Li Yu.
"Do you hear that?" Li Yu suddenly spoke up.
"Hear what?" the Manatee-Person asked cautiously.
"The laughter..."
The Manatee-Person's eyes went wide. His subordinate then curiously approached the heavy metal barricade, pressing his ear against the freezing surface.
A moment later, he flinched backward as if he had been badly burned, springing away with an expression of inexplicable horror. "Boss... Boss... Inside... they are laughing... the laughter is absolutely terrifying!"
"Laughing?" The Manatee-Person was bewildered. What could possibly be scary about laughter? He also leaned in to listen, and in the very next instant, his eyes bulged out.
The muffled, crazed laughter of countless people poured into his ears. It evoked an indescribable feeling that sent an icy chill straight into his bones.
Even though the people inside were laughing, to him, it sounded exactly as if they were wailing—wailing at the cost of their very lives!
Li Yu leaned his back against the metal barricade and gazed up at the dim Starry Sky. The stars shone brightly, and he could vividly make out the shattered asteroids floating in close proximity.
The Manatee-Person's body was trembling slightly, as if he were encased in a stream of freezing water. He didn't know exactly what had transpired inside, but his instincts screamed that it was inextricably linked to the young man standing right before him.
A few Marauders lingering outside also realized something was terribly wrong. They huddled together, whispering among themselves, yet no one dared to approach right away.
About five minutes later, Li Yu finally broke the silence. "That should be enough. Claptrap, switch the ventilation system to external circulation and vent the gas in the opposite direction..."
Behind the Warehouse, thick plumes of black smoke were rapidly vented into the air. Several Marauders hanging around the rear suffered an Undeserved misfortune before they could even react, falling to the ground and rolling around in fits of laughter.
Another three minutes passed. Accompanied by heavy, grinding rumbles, the metal barricades slowly retracted upward, and the Mechanical Doors swung open.
The Manatee-Person couldn't help but peek inside, and his heart instantly skipped a beat. Corpses... nothing but corpses... They were strewn across the floor with their mouths gaping wide, their faces grotesquely contorted, and their eyes blood-red...
Some Marauders had even clawed at and torn their own mouths open in a desperate bid to stop the laughter. Although there were no rivers of blood, the sheer visceral horror of the scene instilled a bone-deep, chilling terror in anyone who witnessed it.
It left all the onlookers completely frozen on the spot...
Li Yu strode straight inside, not bothering to look down at the bodies as he headed directly for the second floor.
Not far away, a shiny, bald head was peering through a pair of binoculars. It was the ever-worried Hunter. He lowered the newly purchased binoculars, looking somewhat dazed. "Just what kind of monster is this guy..."
He had been mind-controlled previously and didn't know that Li Yu possessed The Fallen - Revelry, but he could piece it together now. While surprised, he wasn't completely shocked by the method.
However, Li Yu's sheer apathy toward the mass of corpses... If he were a battle-hardened general, such unruffled calm would be understandable.
But this was Li Yu... He had practically watched him grow step by step. Just where did this bone-chilling indifference come from?
Li Yu paid zero attention to the bodies. The scene was indeed gruesome, but these were all Marauders, guilty of Heinous Crimes. Their deaths mattered little to him.
Suddenly, his footsteps paused as he spotted Yisi lying lifeless on the floor... He shook his head and let out a heavy sigh. "Damn that Mavi, this is all his fault... Pointlessly creating so much slaughter; his crimes are truly unforgivable!"
Was Yisi innocent? He didn't know. Regardless, all this carnage was entirely Mavi's fault. What did it have to do with him?
If Mavi hadn't hunted him down first, would any of this have happened?
Whoosh!
A gust of cold wind swept in from behind. Li Yu's pupils shrank, and Bullet Time instantly activated. He merely tilted his head slightly as an object whizzed right past him.
Electric Arcs flared as he sidestepped. Simultaneously, he raised his left leg, delivering a heavy, devastating back kick.
Thud!
With a muffled thud, the short figure was sent flying backward. It was Mavi.
Not far behind Li Yu, a harsh, screeching sound of friction echoed out. The space in that area began to severely distort. Nearby objects—the metal floor, the walls—started to twist and compress inward into a perfect sphere.
The terrifying phenomenon lasted for about ten seconds before stopping, leaving absolute devastation in its wake.
"A Distortion Field..." Li Yu's eyes turned icy. This was a lesser alternative to a Black Hole bomb; it would aggressively warp the Void, ruthlessly tearing apart any Corporeal Form trapped within it.
Mavi ripped off the Fish Tank-like Gas Mask, his sinister eyes locked dead onto Li Yu. "Who are you!"
Li Yu was still wearing Li Ping's face, but Mavi naturally knew that the person standing before him was definitely not the real Li Ping.
"Your strength is far inferior to that Baal guy..." Li Yu stared at him indifferently.
"Heh..." Mavi pulled a thumb-sized Black Sphere from behind his back. Just as he was about to throw it, a commanding voice exploded right next to his ear.
"Stop!"
His body seized up entirely. Massaging his own temples, Li Yu drove a vicious knee strike directly into Mavi's forehead, instantly blurring his consciousness and nearly sending him crumpling to the floor.
A series of sickening bone-cracking sounds quickly followed as Li Yu systematically shattered and disabled all four of Mavi's limbs.
"Ahhh!" Mavi let out a miserable, agonizing howl, tears and snot streaming down his face. Frowning in annoyance, Li Yu swiftly dislocated Mavi's jaw to silence him.
He pried the Black Sphere from the Goblin's paralyzed grip and unceremoniously pocketed it.
Lifting Mavi like a dead dog, Li Yu smashed a massive hole through the side of the Warehouse and calmly walked out.
