Chapter 253: Leave No One Behind!

~7 min read 1,285 words

Upon hearing the other's words, Jiang Cheng felt little anger.

He could roughly guess that as soon as he laid down his weapon, the other side would fire, eliminating any future trouble.

But these people were completely unaware that they had already entered the attack range of a Sixth-level Spirit Mind Master.

"So, does that mean there's nothing left to discuss?"

Jiang Cheng let out a light sigh.

To be honest, he didn't want to kill anyone.

Otherwise he wouldn't have traveled so far to negotiate with them, and would have simply sniped from a distance.

"Hmph, if you do as I say, there's still something to discuss," Chen Jun sneered.

They were not afraid of a frontal firefight.

After all, these days anyone hunting Exotic Beasts carries at least one or two Vajra Talismans. Some who seek safety even carry several High-grade Diamond Talismans.

Of course, they also guessed that Jiang Cheng and his companion were also carrying Vajra Talismans.

However, with the firepower gap laid out here, the outcome of the battle was decided from the start.

"Let me handle it."

Ye Ying spoke up proactively.

She hadn't acted at all along the way, constantly taking advantage of Jiang Cheng, and was already feeling embarrassed.

Her words hung in the air.

The other side also reacted.

"Open fire!"

Chen Jun let out a roar, pulled the trigger, and his Heavy Machine Gun spewed a tongue of fire.

Those nearby, as well as the machine gunners on the two pickup trucks, all pulled the triggers.

"Bang bang bang!!!"

"Rat-a-tat-tat-tat…"

The firing of the sniper rifle and the machine gun intertwined.

Dense bullets, like a torrential downpour, came at the two, pounding them headfirst.

Yet the two didn't move a muscle.

Ten Steel Needles whirled, forming an invisible barrier that blocked all incoming bullets, while the air rang with continuous clinks and clangs.

At the same time, six or seven Steel Needles, faster than the eye could catch, shot toward the people on the pickup trucks.

A few of them were seen flashing white light on their bodies.

But in less than a second, the Vajra Talismans on two or three of them shattered.

Then several cries of agony rang out.

The two machine gunners on the pickup and the man wielding a sniper rifle both clutched their necks, blood gushing, and collapsed.

All their attention was on Jiang Cheng, since Ye Ying had no gun in her hand.

Seeing Jiang Cheng not even lift a weapon, they naturally felt safe, so they activated only one Vajra Talisman and immersed themselves in the thrill of firing.

When the Steel Needles pierced their throats, the three were filled with confusion.

"Why? Why are they being attacked?"

The opponent hadn't even had a chance to fire! In the next instant, six or seven Steel Needles flew toward the fourth gunner.

In almost an instant, the Vajra Talisman on the latter was destroyed, and the brow, eyes, throat, and heart were all pierced.

Another gunner fell.

At this point, even the most foolish person would realize something was wrong.

"Spiritual Thought Master! That woman is a Spiritual Thought Master!"

Chen Jun shouted, "Focus fire on her! Focus fire on that woman!"

Hearing this, the remaining two or three gunmen quickly aimed their barrels at Ye Ying.

At this moment they finally understood why the other side dared to come forward.

Unfortunately, it was already a little too late.

These two, in the next instant, two had their hearts pierced by Steel Needles, and one had his brow pierced.

Jiang Cheng saw the scene and inhaled a sharp gasp.

The Steel Needles were so fast that he couldn't even see them clearly; even with Spiritual Power he couldn't capture them. This reminded him of what Hong Cha had said when they first met: a Force Warrior of equal rank facing a Spiritual Thought Master of equal rank was nothing but a lamb awaiting slaughter.

Unless one carries a large number of defensive talismans, or possesses astonishing defensive power capable of withstanding that attack range.

But achieving that at this level is probably not possible for equals, unless they have some special Secret Martial Arts that boost bodily defense.

The problem is, Spiritual Thought Masters also have defensive methods; for example, the Gold Bell Visualization Method he saw on the Black Market—once a Force Warrior gets close, the Spiritual Thought Master can summon a Golden Bell to shield the body while attacking with a Psychic Weapon.

Perhaps only those Force Warriors who cultivate energy can stand a fight with an equal-level Spiritual Thought Master, since both rely on ranged attacks.

At this point, only Chen Jun remained on the opposite side.

With no other firepower, Ye Ying only needed to control two or three Steel Needles to block the bullets; the remaining ten-plus Steel Needles continuously launched attacks toward the latter.

"What to do? What to do?"

Chen Jun was burning with anxiety.

In just a second or two, he had already used several Vajra Talismans.

If this continued, he would fall behind his companions.

Should he run? Or charge toward the enemy?

But he was only a Fifth-level Force Warrior; his cultivated Secret Martial Arts focused on fists and feet, with no exposure to weapon-based Secret Martial Arts, and his fists were far less powerful than the Heavy Sniper Rifle in his hands.

In the next instant, he gritted his teeth and made a decision.

"I surrender!"

He puts down the gun in his hand and raises both hands.

"Please, don't kill me, I know I was wrong!"

As he says, tears stream down his face.

To say he regrets, that indeed he does regret.

But it isn't regret over seizing these prey on the ground; if it happened again, he would still choose the same, after all three million lies before him, who could stay unmoved? What he regrets is that he was careless, thinking the opponent was only two people, the advantage was on him, and foolishly let a Spiritual Thought Master come forward.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have been wiped out by several people in an instant; if the distance could be kept beyond one hundred meters, those two would have long been shredded by bullets.

Yet Ye Ying, as if she hadn't heard, continues the relentless attack with Steel Needle.

"Stop! Stop!"

Chen Jun lets out a hysterical cry.

"Spare me, I'll agree to anything you want! Anything you want, ah!"

A scream.

Several Steel Needles pierced his chest.

"You, you all!"

His eyes brim with endless hatred as he looks at the two people before him.

Why? He has already put down his gun, already begged for mercy, yet they still won't let him go! "Pfft!"

Again several Steel Needles pierce his heart, even the hands clutching his chest are riddled with holes.

Chen Jun's face shows extreme pain, and unwillingly he collapses.

Yet Ye Ying, still uneasy, strikes again with Steel Needle one by one, then finally withdraws.

"It's okay, right?"

Jiang Cheng sees her looking a bit weary, and quickly asks with concern.

"It's fine, just rest a while."

Ye Ying shakes her head, glances around.

"We shouldn't delay; let's quickly pack up and leave, otherwise another wave will be hard to handle."

"Mm."

Jiang Cheng nods heavily.

These Black Mane Pigs on the ground must be taken without leaving a single one behind.

He was originally worried the pickup's cargo space wouldn't fit them, but the other side sent a truck, now it's more than enough.

Besides that, the guns in their hands, when added up, probably total over eleven million, enough to match the haul from two hunts.
