Chapter 6: Plan

Upon learning that Guo Jing had arrested two assassins, Dog-Head Old Gao immediately contacted the Tai'an police to take the two assassins into custody, and he himself rushed to Tai'an at the first opportunity.

After seeing Guo Jing safe and sound, Dog-Head Old Gao breathed a sigh of relief—as long as the kid was fine, that was all that mattered.

Guo Jing, happy to see Dog-Head Old Gao arrive, eagerly introduced the three to him:

"Gao Shu, this is Nie Huaishang, this is Zhang Xiaofan, this is Zhang Chu'an—they're all my good buddies, and we're all going to take the entrance exam for the National University of Defense Technology."

Dog-Head Old Gao shook hands with each of them one by one and said politely, "Hello to you all, the PLA welcomes your joining."

Capturing two professional assassins alive—on the strength of that courage alone, Dog-Head Old Gao looked at him with new respect.

"Captain Gao, I've always been a total coward since I was little. When I fought with others I never hit back, and I never took the initiative to clash with them either—so why would assassins follow me?"

Zhang Chu'an complained helplessly to Dog-Head.

"There really wasn't any clash at all."

Dog-Head Old Gao was unwilling to give up any lead; clearly there had to be a motive for the crime.

Zhang Chu'an pretended to ponder and said, "I remember there was a person named Ye Cunxin who beat me up, and I reported it to the police right away. Her mother, to settle the matter quietly and avoid affecting her daughter's future, chose to handle it privately and paid me some money."

Dog-Head Old Gao nodded and said, "I understand."

Then he went off to interrogate the two assassins.

Zhang Chu'an: "Phew, that Captain Gao is way too oppressive."

Nie Huaishang: "It's fine, it's all worth it. After all, we can steer Captain Gao into investigating Zhang Haiyan, and then find a chance to leak Zhang Haiyan's identity as a secretary to this Captain Gao—that'll definitely give Black Cat a real headache."

"And the one going up against Black Cat next will be this Captain Gao; Black Cat won't have the energy to go after your family anymore."

Zhang Chu'an: "So does that mean I've shaken off Black Cat's attention?"

Nie Huaishang: "Given Black Cat's vengeful, tit-for-tat personality, once he gets a breather, for your family it will absolutely be a disaster."

Zhang Chu'an: "True, but Black Cat is still overseas—how do we deal with him?"

Nie Huaishang: "Don't forget, Zhang Haiyan holds too many of Black Cat's secrets. Black Cat doesn't trust her and even planted a watcher by her side. Suppose the watcher Black Cat has tailing Zhang Haiyan gets arrested by the military—do you think Black Cat will come over to deal with Zhang Haiyan?"

Zhang Xiaofan: "Once Black Cat comes looking for Zhang Haiyan, with the four of us we can absolutely make sure he comes but never leaves."

Zhang Chu'an: "With Black Cat, this K2 boss, gone, the organization will probably fall into a power struggle right away, and soon enough it'll be wiped out by local armed forces or other factions."

Nie Huaishang: "Of course, the main one doing all this will be Captain Gao—we're just helping out a little."

After a while, Dog-Head Old Gao finished interrogating the two assassins and came out of the interrogation room. The assassins' mouths were tight, and Dog-Head Old Gao couldn't get answers in a short time—but when he mentioned that Zhang Haiyan was their contact, the look of shock in their eyes vanished in an instant.

After all, Zhang Haiyan was their boss's woman, and she was one of the very few people in the K2 organization who could wash her hands of the business. If she were exposed by the police, the K2 organization could even face annihilation.

Such a huge matter—even though the two of them controlled the shock on their faces, the terror in their eyes couldn't be hidden. Dog-Head Old Gao could confirm that this batch of assassins had ties to Zhang Haiyan.

Coming out of the interrogation room, Dog-Head Old Gao cautioned the four of them: "You four need to be careful lately—guard against retaliation from those terrorists."

"Got it, Gao Shu, we'll be mindful of safety during this period."

Guo Jing agreed readily.

After cautioning the four, Dog-Head Old Gao began his investigation into Zhang Haiyan. Those two people's psychological resilience and overall capabilities were extremely strong—they must have undergone systematic training. Zhang Haiyan was definitely no simple case.

At that moment atop Mount Taishan, the four sat in quiet meditation. After a while they all slowly opened their eyes, and Nie Huaishang couldn't help but sigh regretfully: "Still can't sense the existence of spiritual Qi—looks like in this world we can only use Qi-refining methods."

Guo Jing said breezily: "It doesn't matter—even relying solely on Qi-refining methods, the four of us are still not something ordinary people can compare to."

In his bout with Dog-Head Old Gao, he had never used Qi. If he had used Qi, Dog-Head Old Gao would have surely lost within two moves.

After listing out the villains, their expressions grew solemn—after all, these people were true desperadoes. If they couldn't be dealt with cleanly and decisively, it would surely devolve into a fight to the death.

Guo Jing said without a trace of fear: "Drug lords, mercenaries, terrorist organizations—every one of these people is guilty of the worst crimes. Zhang Xiaofan: "Right now, we already have an initial plan for dealing with Black Cat. Do you have any plans for dealing with Ma Yunfei and Scorpion Ruan Wenxiong?"

The four all turned to look at Nie Huaishang. Nie Huaishang coughed, then said thoughtfully: "These three have a huge disadvantage—their identities. One drug lord, one mercenary, one terrorist. In a place like China, once their identities are exposed, they'll be encircled and suppressed by large forces. By then, with them on the run as lone wolves, the four of us can definitely take them down easily."

"So the best time to kill them is while they're in China. Once they get abroad, with guns and manpower, they definitely won't be opponents we can handle—opportunities will be very few."

The other three nodded one after another. The four kept discussing battle plans atop Mount Taishan, while on the other side, Black Cat, upon receiving news that the assassins had been arrested and taken to the police station, was so angry he was jumping with rage:

"Two useless pieces of trash—trained for over a dozen years and they can't even handle a student who just finished the college entrance exam, and they got caught and taken to the police station!"
