Chapter 233: Surrender
Three hours after the Starfire Group's clearing order was issued, twelve action squads had already dispersed to every corner of the safe zone,
their targets aimed directly at all remnant forces of the Iron Hand Group. Reports from the communicator came one after another,
each carrying a clear result: either the remaining members surrendered their weapons,
or those who resisted were cleared on the spot, with no accidents occurring.
Lin Chen stood on the command tower of the headquarters, holding a roster of the Iron Hand Group's members,
and every time he received a report, he would cross out a name; the names on the roster grew fewer, and the red crosses grew denser.
A squad leader in charge of the clearing ran up the command tower, panting,
holding an Iron Hand Group badge: "Team Leader Lin, the last hiding spot has been wiped out,
and all five people inside surrendered. This is the badge they handed over; all insignia of the Iron Hand Group have been collected."
Lin Chen took the badge, its surface still carrying a trace of warmth, the iron hand pattern on it already somewhat worn.
He glanced at it, threw it casually on the ground, and stepped down hard,
the badge making a crisp cracking sound and turning into a pile of scrap metal. The squad leader watched his actions,
not daring to speak, just standing to the side, waiting for his next instruction.
"Those who surrendered,
break them up and assign them to the logistics team, send them to work at the most remote supply points,
and without my order, they are not allowed to leave." Lin Chen's voice lacked a shred of warmth, "All supplies cleared out must be registered, part transported back to headquarters, and part distributed to the survivors of the safe zone."
"Understood." The squad leader nodded immediately and turned to leave.
Just then, Lin Chen's communicator suddenly rang, and a burst of chaotic gunfire and shouting came from it,
along with a team member's roar: "Team Leader Lin, we've been ambushed,
the other side are die-hards of the Iron Hand Group,
there are many of them,
request support,
request support!"
The sound in the communicator stopped abruptly, replaced by a burst of static.
Lin Chen's expression sank instantly; he grabbed the ice blade hanging to the side,
and shouted to the squad leader: "Notify all action squads to assemble at the South District supply point immediately, fast!"
Outside the warehouse of the South District supply point, it had already become a battlefield. Over a dozen Starfire Group members lay on the ground,
blood staining the surrounding snow, the remaining members hiding behind the warehouse wall,
firing wildly at the outside. Outside the warehouse, over a hundred remaining members of the Iron Hand Group formed a circle,
holding heavy weapons, their faces showing crazed expressions. The leader was a man with one arm missing, none other than the Iron Hand Group's former second-in-command, Broken-Arm Wolf.
Broken-Arm Wolf saw Lin Chen rushing over with his men and immediately laughed wildly,
"Lin Chen,
you finally came!
I knew you would come!
Do you think you won?
Do you think the Iron Hand Group is just finished like this? Let me tell you, we were prepared long ago;
today is your death day!"
Lin Chen didn't speak, just waved his hand, and the clone soldiers behind him immediately rushed up,
engaging in a chaotic battle with the remaining members of the Iron Hand Group. Gunfire, shouting,
and the sound of weapons colliding intertwined, echoing throughout the South District.
Lin Chen gripped his ice blade and rushed toward Broken-Arm Wolf, the ice blade flashing with cold light in the sun; wherever he passed, no one could block his path.
Broken-Arm Wolf watched Lin Chen rushing over, the smile on his face growing even more crazed,
and he suddenly pulled a remote control from his clothes: "Lin Chen, look at what this is?
Fifty kilograms of explosives are buried in this warehouse; as long as I press this button, all of us will die here!"
Lin Chen's steps stopped; he looked at the remote control in Broken-Arm Wolf's hand,
a flash of coldness in his eyes. He knew Broken-Arm Wolf was telling the truth;
the warehouse was piled high with supplies, and if the explosives detonated, the entire South District would be razed to the ground, and everyone he brought would be buried with them.
"You wouldn't dare."
Lin Chen looked at Broken-Arm Wolf, his voice calm, "If you press the remote,
you won't survive either."
"If I don't survive,
you won't survive either!"
Broken-Arm Wolf roared, his finger already placed on the remote's button,
"I haven't wanted to live for a long time;
the Iron Hand Group is gone,
what's the point of me living?
Today, I'll take you down with me!"
Lin Chen calculated quickly; he knew he had no time left.
Broken-Arm Wolf's finger was already starting to apply pressure, the remote's button sinking slightly.
He took a deep breath and suddenly accelerated, rushing toward Broken-Arm Wolf,
while simultaneously activating his Absolute Zero ability. An extreme chill instantly enveloped Broken-Arm Wolf,
his body covered by a thick layer of ice, his finger stopping in mid-air, unable to press the button.
Lin Chen rushed to Broken-Arm Wolf, swung his ice blade, and severed his arm,
the remote falling to the ground and being crushed by his foot. Broken-Arm Wolf let out a shrill scream, his body falling to the ground, and he quickly lost his breath.
The surrounding remaining members of the Iron Hand Group saw this scene and panicked instantly,
their fighting spirit completely disintegrating, and they threw down their weapons one after another, kneeling on the ground to beg for mercy.
The clone soldiers didn't stop, still rushing up to subdue them all.
Lin Chen looked at the people kneeling on the ground, his eyes devoid of any fluctuation.
He knew that from this moment on, the Iron Hand Group was completely destroyed, and there would never be any chance for a comeback.
He walked to the warehouse entrance, looked at the supplies piled like mountains inside, and said to the team members beside him: "Transport all these supplies away, and seal this place off completely."
The team members acted immediately, starting to move the supplies. Lin Chen stood where he was,
looking at the sky in the distance; the wind and snow had stopped, and sunlight filtered through the clouds,
shining on the earth. His communicator received the final report: all remaining forces of the Iron Hand Group had been cleared or incorporated, and the organization no longer existed.
A team member ran over and handed Lin Chen a new roster: "Team Leader Lin, this is the list of incorporated personnel, all registered."
Lin Chen took the roster and flipped a page, which was densely packed with everyone's names and information.
He nodded and handed the roster to the team member: "Watch them well; don't let any trouble arise."
The team member took the roster and turned to leave. Lin Chen looked at the snow outside the warehouse,
the blood on the snow already starting to congeal, turning dark red. He knew this battle was over, the Iron Hand Group had completely disappeared from this world, and no one would ever remember the name again. ===== CHAPTER 234 =====
