Chapter 76

The steel armored vehicle sped on the frozen road,

the temperature outside the window had dropped to -180℃, the glass covered in thick ice flowers,

Lin Chen could only rely on system navigation to judge the direction. 【5km from No. 127 Laboratory, reinforced white-eyed zombies have entered a state of alert, it is recommended that the host prepare for battle.】

As soon as the system prompt fell, a harsh metal friction sound suddenly came from outside the vehicle.

Lin Chen slammed on the brakes,

and the moment the steel armored vehicle stopped, he saw a figure glowing with cold white light appear in front of the convoy—it was a person wearing black armor, holding a long-handled scythe,

frost condensed on the blade of the scythe, and the chill radiating from its body was causing the surrounding snow to freeze rapidly.

"Ice Sickle General?"

Lin Chen's heart sank,

this was the first time he had seen this kind of enemy, and the system immediately popped up a prompt: 【Detected unknown high-tier enemy, codename "Ice Sickle General," containing a large amount of Ice Seal Factor in its body, combat power far exceeding Experiment Guardians, it is recommended to prioritize avoidance.】

The Ice Sickle General didn't talk nonsense, holding the scythe and rushing toward the off-road vehicle at the front of the convoy.

The 10 Dawn Squad members in the back seat of the vehicle had just raised their guns when they saw a flash of cold light from the scythe—with a "swish," the roof of the off-road vehicle was split in two directly,

and the 10 members didn't even scream before being frozen into ice sculptures by the chill brought by the scythe, then the ice sculptures shattered, scattering all over the ground.

"Act!" Zhao Qiang roared, and the members of the second team jumped out of the vehicles one after another,

holding M416s and Purple Lightning Purification Guns and shooting at the Ice Sickle General. The bullets hit the opponent's armor,

only leaving a white mark before being bounced off; the current from the Purple Lightning Purification Gun hit the target,

but only made the opponent's movements pause for a moment, unable to cause any substantial damage.

The Ice Sickle General turned around,

waved its scythe toward the crowd, and an arc-shaped ice blade instantly flew out. Lin Chen was quick-witted,

mobilized his Absolute Zero ability to condense an ice shield in front of the crowd—with a "bang," the ice blade hit the ice shield, and the ice shield instantly filled with cracks.

"This thing is too hard! We can't hit it at all!" A Kai held a Gatling gun,

firing frantically at the Ice Sickle General, but it was still to no avail.

Just then,

an urgent prompt from the system sounded in Lin Chen's mind: 【Emergency warning! No. 127 Laboratory "Final Ice Seal Program" activated ahead of schedule, expected to be completed in 5 minutes; detected space distortion in the core area of the laboratory, continuing to stay will be drawn into the ice-sealed area, it is recommended that all personnel evacuate immediately and return to Sky Dome Villa to take shelter.】

"Evacuate? But there are still team members behind..." Lin Chen looked at the Dawn Squad members still entangled with the Ice Sickle General,

his heart full of hesitation. Xia Nuan grabbed his arm and said urgently: "Lin Chen, the system is right,

if we don't leave, we will all be frozen here! Only by staying alive can we have a chance to come back for revenge!"

The Ice Sickle General seemed to notice they wanted to leave,

its offensive becoming more intense, the scythe waving again, and another 5 Dawn Squad members were frozen into ice sculptures.

Zhao Qiang also realized something was wrong and shouted into the walkie-talkie: "Everyone retreat! Get in the vehicles! Fast!" Everyone ran toward the vehicles, Lin Chen covered the rear, waved an ice cone at the Ice Sickle General, forced the opponent back temporarily, and jumped into the steel armored vehicle.

The convoy immediately turned around and sped toward the direction of Sky Dome Villa. The Ice Sickle General stood in place,

not chasing, just holding the scythe, watching the direction the convoy went, the chill around its body growing stronger.

Lin Chen saw this scene through the rearview mirror, his heart full of unwillingness—in just a few minutes, 15 Dawn Squad members had sacrificed themselves, and he must settle this score with He Shao.

On the way, the system kept updating the situation at the laboratory: 【No. 127 Laboratory core area has been completely frozen, forming an ice-sealed forbidden zone within a 20km radius, temperature dropped to -300℃; Ice Sickle General has returned to the forbidden zone, not continuing to pursue.】

Lin Chen leaned on the seat, closed his eyes, the faces of the sacrificed team members constantly appearing in his mind, his fists clenching until they clicked.

Xia Nuan handed him a bottle of water and comforted him softly: "Don't blame yourself too much, what we can do now,

is to protect the remaining people, and then find a way to find a solution to the Ice Seal Plan." Lin Chen took the water,

took a sip, his eyes becoming firm: "You're right, I can't fall.

He Shao activated the final ice seal program, there must be follow-up actions, we must find a solution as soon as possible."

The convoy soon returned to Sky Dome Villa, and after everyone got out of the vehicles, their faces carried exhaustion and sorrow.

Zhao Qiang counted the number of people and found that the original 74-member Dawn Squad now only had 59 people left,

and he said to Lin Chen with red eyes: "Brother Lin Chen, no matter what you do next,

we will all go with you! Even if it means death, we must drag He Shao down to accompany us!"

Other members also nodded one after another, their eyes full of determination. Lin Chen looked at everyone,

a warmth in his heart, and just as he wanted to speak, the system suddenly popped up a prompt: 【Detected energy fluctuations appearing under Sky Dome Villa, suspected of having an underground passage connecting to No. 127 Laboratory; detected weak vital signs in the passage, possibly laboratory survivors.】

"Underground passage?" Lin Chen's eyes lit up, this might be the only chance to enter the ice-sealed forbidden zone and find He Shao.

He immediately said to everyone: "There is an underground passage under the villa, it might lead to the laboratory. Let's rest for a while, check the equipment and supplies, and in half an hour, set off to explore the passage!"
