and melting it. The last zombie lunged at the side of the car, clawing at the door and making a harsh, grating sound.

Lin Chen leaned out and fired at the zombie's head; the bullet pierced its skull, and the zombie fell to the ground, quickly freezing solid.

A Kai parked the car not far from the laboratory, and the three of them got out and walked toward the entrance.

"Be careful, follow me." Lin Chen turned on his phone's flashlight and led the way toward the core control room.

The corridor was terrifyingly quiet, with only their footsteps echoing. Suddenly,

a "clanging" sound came from the rooms on both sides of the corridor, as if something was moving inside.
