Chapter 1109: A Great Dream, All in Vain
Hearing these familiar words, Ning Chen could not help but feel his eyes moisten.
So it was that he had a fever; then, was everything he experienced before truly just a dream?
Hugging the person before him, Ning Chen, like a child, felt the warmth of the person in front of him.
Si Shiya smiled somewhat amusedly: "You, being sick, why are you still like a child?"
"Mm." Relying on his current weakness, Ning Chen spoiled himself without any burden.
"Get up quickly, you've sweated, and haven't bathed in two days. Get up, I'll run hot water for you to soak properly."
Pushing Ning Chen away, Si Shiya turned and went to the bathroom.
Listening to the sounds coming from inside, Ning Chen looked at his own hands; he drew talismans in the empty air, but there was nothing.
Afterwards, Ning Chen once again followed his usual method to mobilize his ability.
And this time, the response to him was still empty air.
Could it be that this place is truly just a dream? A dream, an immersive experience.
Ning Chen's thoughts did not last long; Si Shiya came out of the bathroom and called him to wash up.
Getting off the bed, Ning Chen looked at the various scenes before him and sighed.
Perhaps, he really had a nightmare.
Thinking of this, Ning Chen entered the bathtub filled with water, letting the water soak his body.
And he did not see that just now, Si Shiya's eyes were filled with words she wanted to say but held back.
These past few days, Ning Chen had already readjusted to normal life; besides normal life, Ning Chen relied on Si Shiya even more exceptionally.
Whether it was because of that dream or not, Ning Chen always wanted to embrace the person before him; he felt that if he didn't cling, all of this would be another dream, shattering at a touch.
Although somewhat amusing, Si Shiya had also grown used to Ning Chen's constant presence by her side, and agreed to Ning Chen's request for her to leave her current job.
Ning Chen did not want to experience the pain of losing Si Shiya again; even though now it is called a dream, that does not mean such a possibility will not exist.
Sitting on the sofa, Ning Chen looked at the television before him, but his gaze was somewhat dazed, not focused on the television in front of him.
For some reason, the longer he stayed here, the more Ning Chen felt a sense of incongruity.
Why was this world so similar to his original, native world, as if two worlds had merged?
Not only that, here there actually was Lin Yi, there was Facing Huo Jinglin, only the other party did not know him.
According to normal circumstances, he should not know those two people; then how did those two people appear in his dream back then?
All of this revealed a trace of eeriness.
"Chen, what do you want to eat today?" Si Shiya's voice came from the kitchen.
Ning Chen snapped out of it, shaking his head which ached slightly from thinking; was he going mad?
Those were just things in a dream, weren't they? As for Lin Yi and Facing Huo Jinglin, those two were celebrities; he probably saw them accidentally at some point and they entered his dream.
Out of a protective mechanism, Ning Chen's brain unconsciously supplemented many things that could not be explained for him.
Getting up, Ning Chen came to the kitchen; looking at the person busy in the kitchen, he showed a smile; isn't this life good now? Why should he be so hung up on so many things?
After dinner, Ning Chen embraced Si Shiya and sat on the sofa, discussing whether to travel these two days; they seemed to have never gone traveling together.
Si Shiya thought for a moment, then spoke: "Anywhere is fine, as long as I'm with you, I'll like it very much!"
Hearing this answer, Ning Chen felt a wave of sweetness in his heart; this was his lover, the one who loved him most.
"However, before we travel, we'd better go see Mom and Dad first; we haven't gone to see them in a long time; yesterday they even called me asking if we didn't want to see them."
Mom and Dad? Ning Chen frowned slightly; he remembered, didn't Si Shiya have no parents?
And indeed, there was no impression of Si Shiya's parents in his mind.
But seeing Si Shiya's excited gaze, Ning Chen swallowed his questioning words and replied "Okay."
To not delay the trip, and also to resolve the doubts in his heart, Ning Chen immediately decided to go to Si Shiya's parents' home tomorrow to check the situation.
As night approached, Ning Chen looked at the brilliant stars outside the window, his heart unable to calm.
Since learning that Si Shiya had parents, his mood had been somewhat unsettled.
What exactly was going on? He had no impression at all; in fact, in his memory, Si Shiya simply had no parents.
Could it be that the fever made his brain muddled, forgetting some things?
Ning Chen sighed.
A hand suddenly reached up; Ning Chen turned his head and saw Si Shiya looking at him seriously.
Ning Chen's heart softened; he took Si Shiya's hand and looked at her, saying: "What's wrong? Can't sleep?"
Si Shiya shook her head; she looked at Ning Chen seriously: "I just want to look at you properly, to imprint you in my heart. Chen, I really, really love you, no matter what happens."
