Chapter 17

Among the netizens, there actually exists such an expert.

They can even cite records from ancient classics to ask questions.

And it is clear that the other party is not maliciously arguing.

They truly have such doubts.

Facing this doubt, if one remains silent, then one truly confirms one's incompetence.

This would have a very bad impact on the National Astronomy Institute.

After all, at this moment, the number of viewers online in this live stream...

The appearance of the meteor shower has caused the trend of rising viewers in Brother Shiguang's live stream to never stop.

And now, because of a fire meteor passing across the sky.

It directly caused the number of viewers in the live stream to explode on the spot!

Almost every second, several thousand viewers flood in!

Currently, the number of online viewers has reached nearly five hundred thousand!

In the broadcasting circle, those top streamers often have millions of viewers online during their broadcasts; that is not unheard of.

But five hundred thousand online viewers is truly not a small number.

This happened without any promotion for this live stream, exploding on the spot solely by relying on the broadcast itself.

At this moment, nearly five hundred thousand viewers.

Are all staring intently at that fire meteor in the night sky of the live broadcast.

Waiting for the National Astronomy Institute to provide an explanation regarding the netizen's question just now that can reassure them.

But the National Astronomy Institute is after all not an ordinary private institution.

It belongs to a state department; speaking and acting must be rigorous.

Especially when this involves speculation about great disasters, it must be even more rigorous.

Otherwise, a single careless word triggering social panic would be a major incident.

One would be held accountable.

In the conference hall of the Astronomy Institute.

The old expert Li Jiaoshou looked at the others.

Then, everyone's gaze turned to an old man with white hair in the crowd.

This old man with white hair leaned on a cane.

He was respectfully called Chen Lao.

He is one of the core experts of the National Astronomy Institute, holding a pivotal position in the national astronomy circle of the Eastern Kingdom, and enjoying great prestige.

Chen Lao is famous for researching astronomical history.

Through years of cultivation and research, he is not only proficient in knowledge of astronomical history but also has profound insights.

And now, a netizen pasted records of astronomical chronicles from ancient classics to ask questions.

Naturally, the Astronomy Institute side must rely on Chen Lao to provide an answer.

Chen Lao leaned on his cane and walked slowly forward, stepping onto the front stage.

His gaze never left the live broadcast image on the large screen.

Then, he let out a sigh.

"Remarkable, remarkable. This young streamer has a promising future."

"He absolutely does not rely on luck."

"He must have his own method to precisely locate this observation site tonight; all of this naturally cannot be just for a meteor shower."

"The fire meteor is also one of his targets."

"This indeed contains an element of his prediction."

"We need to know his method; this experience is extremely precious."

Chen Lao spoke thus.

The others nodded one after another.

Li Jiaoshou said, "Chen Lao, regarding the netizen's question..."

Chen Lao nodded, but then smiled.

"What is recorded in the classics, the passage this netizen pasted, indeed happened."

"But there is no need for panic; over-interpreting it is pointless."

"Do you all know that to grasp the meaning of words often leads to the error of taking things out of context, and to take the words of ancients, especially records involving science, one must understand the broader background of that time to form a clear understanding."

"What does this mean?" Everyone was confused.

"The passage the netizen copied comes from the Book of Jin. In our Eastern Kingdom's history, later dynasties always record the history of previous dynasties. The Book of Jin was written by Fang Xuanling and others of the Tang Dynasty; naturally, it served their own court to form the so-called lesson of the past as a warning for the future."

"This netizen pasting this passage seems shocking and terrifying, but in reality, it merely implies the lack of virtue in the previous dynasty. By forcing a mysterious explanation, it establishes the legitimacy of the current dynasty, critiques the previous dynasty, and forms a lesson for the future; this achieves three goals with one stroke. This Spring and Autumn brushwork is nothing unusual in historical books."

"But non-professionals often believe it to be true, even citing it as evidence."

"The so-called appearance of a fire meteor followed by eight stars aligning in the book, if it truly happened, was merely a coincidence of celestial phenomena. As for whether the world had virtue or lacked virtue, it has absolutely nothing to do with this."

"Examples in historical books using Spring and Autumn brushwork to serve the current court are countless."

Chen Lao, with a smile on his face, explained this calmly and peacefully.

Instantly, the doubts in everyone's hearts were dispelled.

Thus, the staff operating the official account of the National Astronomy Institute.

Responded in Brother Shiguang's live stream to that netizen's words, following what Chen Lao said:

【Ancient books contain the suspicion of Spring and Autumn brushwork, serving the legitimacy of the current court; they can be referenced but cannot be cited as scientific evidence. A scientific attitude must seek truth from facts.】

Once these words were spoken.

In the live stream, some viewers bought it, deeming the explanation reasonable.

Others did not buy it, finding any ambiguity unacceptable.

However, this matter was about to be brushed aside.

It was at this very moment.

In the live broadcast feed.

A voice suddenly rang out:

"The Nine Stars Aligning, which appeared once nine hundred years ago? It will arrive in three months?"

That voice was crystal clear.

It emanated from the live stream, entering everyone's eardrums.

It was that streamer, Brother Shiguang, who suddenly spoke, uttering a single sentence.

Nine?

Nine Stars?

Nine Stars Aligning?

The Nine Stars Aligning that appeared nine hundred years ago?

It will arrive in three months?!!

The entire live stream instantly fell silent again.

Over at the National Astronomical Observatory, they too heard the sentence the streamer suddenly spoke.

Including Chen Lao just now, everyone was stunned.

15. Mobilize all connections! You must find him!

(Dear Master Readers, let me tell you another secret: I heard that those who cast evaluation votes will not only have men become handsome and women become beautiful, but will also experience the celestial phenomenon of sudden windfall wealth the moment they step outside. Dear Masters, being so outstanding, you naturally deserve this... Don't tell others; I'm only whispering this to you...)

On the motorhome.

The words just spoken were Ning Chen's muttering to himself.

The reason he muttered to himself was.

Because, just now, while watching the fire meteor appearing in the sky.

The System, as if sensing his interest and attention toward it.

Some information related to this also surged into his mind:

【Now explaining the information of the celestial phenomenon before you to the Host as follows】

【The Perseid Meteor Shower, under current technological means, cannot be predicted with precision.】
