Chapter 1744
The identities of that group have not yet been clarified, and they possess no evidence capable of proving that young man's identity.
If they were to leave rashly, they might be hunted down by others.
Therefore, they can only stay here temporarily and wait for an opportunity.
That night, Zhao Yang was cultivating in his room.
Suddenly, someone knocked on his door.
Zhao Yang frowned slightly, rose, and walked to the door. "Who is it?" A voice came from outside: "Zhao Yang, it's me, Wang Peng."
Zhao Yang opened the door and found Wang Peng standing outside with a face full of anxiety. "What's wrong, Wang Peng? What happened?"
Wang Peng took a deep breath and said urgently, "I found some clues about that group."
Zhao Yang was stunned. "What clues?"
"Follow me." Wang Peng said no more, turned, and walked toward the other end of the corridor.
Zhao Yang followed closely behind Wang Peng and arrived at the entrance of a room.
"This is the clue I found." Wang Peng pulled a slip of paper from his pocket and handed it to Zhao Yang.
Zhao Yang took the paper, glanced at it, and saw several addresses and times written on it. "What is this?"
"This is where that group meets." Wang Peng explained. "I discovered they often gather here to discuss certain matters."
"Do you know who they are?" Zhao Yang pressed.
Wang Peng shook his head. "I don't know, but I found they seem to have some connection with that young man."
Zhao Yang frowned slightly. "Are you saying this place is related to that young man?"
Wang Peng nodded. "I think it's very likely."
Zhao Yang pondered for a moment. "Who do you think they might be?"
"I don't know." Wang Peng shook his head. "But I think if we can find this place, we might uncover some clues."
Zhao Yang nodded lightly. "Very well, then let us go to this place and see."
After settling their plan, the two began preparing to act. The next night, Zhao Yang and Wang Peng secretly left the hotel and headed for that address.
Night fell, starlight reflecting off the dilapidated houses, while the mottled walls appeared especially eerie under the moonlight.
Zhao Yang and Wang Peng arrived at the gate of that address, pushed open the slightly ajar door, and found a dim room inside.
The moment they entered the room, they smelled a nauseating scent of blood, then saw a group of people gathered around a table in the center of the house, doing something unknown.
Zhao Yang and Wang Peng hid in a corner observing these people, discovering that each wore an expressionless face, as if they had lost their own consciousness.
They examined these people closely and suddenly noticed that each had the same pattern on their necks, which looked somewhat eerie.
"These people do not seem like normal humans," Zhao Yang said in a low voice. "They appear to be controlled."
Wang Peng nodded. "I feel the same."
Just then, a man appeared before them. He wore black clothing and a mask on his face, looking very mysterious.
The man glanced at Zhao Yang and Wang Peng and said coldly, "Who are you?"
Zhao Yang spoke without changing his expression. "We are here to find someone."
The man looked at them suspiciously. "What are you doing here?"
Zhao Yang pointed at those people. "Who are those people?"
The man did not answer his question; instead, he sneered. "You had best mind your own business, or there will be unfavorable consequences."
Zhao Yang said fearlessly, "I have never feared consequences. You had best answer my question."
The man suddenly drew a handgun, aimed it at Zhao Yang's head, and said, "If you babble on any longer, I will shoot you dead!"
Zhao Yang stared fearlessly into the man's eyes; he was not at all worried that this man could harm him.
Seeing this, the man suddenly sneered. "Who do you think you are? Able to withstand my attack?"
"You can try." Zhao Yang said calmly.
Before the man could act, he suddenly felt a powerful force fling him away, then saw a black shadow flash to his side.
Next, intense pain surged through his entire body; he cried out in agony and fell to the ground.
Zhao Yang and Wang Peng walked to his side. The man showed a look of fear. "You... who are you?"
"You need not know." Zhao Yang said coldly. "Speak everything you know."
The man took a deep breath. "I will say everything; spare me."
Zhao Yang said calmly, "That depends on your performance."
In the following half hour, the man, like beans pouring from a bamboo tube, spoke out all the information he knew.
It turned out that this group was all controlled by this man. This man was a very famous hypnotist who used his hypnosis to control everyone's thoughts and actions, using them to achieve his own purposes.
And this purpose was to locate the whereabouts of the Outer Realm Heavenly Demon and kill it, create social chaos, and obtain his own benefits.
After hearing the man's account, Zhao Yang frowned tightly. "Why did you tell us these things?"
The man spoke in a low voice. "I am afraid. I am truly afraid."
Zhao Yang and Wang Peng left that house and walked down the street, deep in thought.
The current situation is very unfavorable to them; they must act quickly to stop this hypnotist's conspiracy.
They returned to the hotel, preparing to report to the local police station and inform them of this situation.
