Chapter 1754: Awakening the Power

~3 min read 426 words

He gripped the massive flame sword and strode toward the dragon; with every step he took, the earth trembled, the ground beneath his feet cracked open, and thick steam billowed from the fissures.

Zhao Yang swung the massive flame sword, striking at the dragon.

The dragon glanced at Zhao Yang with contempt and raised a claw to strike the massive flame sword. The two collided, triggering a violent explosion. Fierce gusts of wind snapped countless trees around them; even the distant forest was affected, with trees crashing to the ground in a rustling heap.

The explosion lasted a long time; when the dust settled, both sides had retreated three meters.

Zhao Yang panted heavily, his chest heaving violently. That single collision had required his utmost strength; he nearly collapsed from exhaustion.

In contrast, the dragon remained steady, as if it had expended no effort at all.

The dragon surveyed Zhao Yang contemptuously and said, "You humans are weak, foolish, and greedy. Your minds hold nothing but internal strife."

Zhao Yang frowned. "Your assessment is too high; I cannot bear such praise."

Hilda quickly urged, "Zhao Yang, you need not argue with him. Right now, we need its power."

Hilda pointed to the dragon egg beside them. The dragon looked at Hilda, then at Zhao Yang, and finally at the dragon egg held in Hilda's arms. The dragon nodded and said, "I can cooperate with you. As members of the dragon race, we should help one another."

Hilda said gratefully, "Excellent. With your assistance, we are certain to achieve victory."

The dragon asked, "What is your plan?"

Hilda said excitedly, "Once we locate that secret realm and break the seal, we will enter it to seek the legacy left by our ancestors."

Zhao Yang could not help but ask, "What exactly were your ancestors? Were they divine beasts?"

Hilda said, "They were not divine beasts; they were legendary heroes—Odin."

Hilda's words left Zhao Yang utterly stunned. He never expected that the dragon's ancestors were Odin! This far exceeded his expectations.

The name Odin was very familiar to Zhao Yang. He knew that Odin was the king of the Greek gods, governing the four elements of water, electricity, lightning, and metal, and wind; he was the master of the sky. It was said that he understood ten thousand languages and possessed extremely powerful strength; some even suspected Odin was a deity reincarnated.

Such an existence was absolutely beyond the reach of mortals.

The dragon said proudly, "Odin? Heh heh... I have never seen such a weak life form."
