"I am just cooperating with her, doing some things together," Chen Kaijun explained. "Nothing really happened between us."

"Nothing happened? Then why won't you be with me anymore?" Lin Yiyi asked. "Do you not love me anymore?"

"No, I have always loved you," Chen Kaijun said urgently. "I just feel we should put our relationship aside for now and get things done first."

"Get what done?!" Lin Yiyi's voice was filled with confusion and incomprehension. "Do you know that by doing this you will lose me!"

"I know, I know," Chen Kaijun's voice was also filled with helplessness. "I only did this because I want us to live better."

"Live better?!" Lin Yiyi's tears flowed down. "Being together is living well! I don't want to lose you!"

Their argument grew more and more intense, gradually evolving into an irreconcilable dispute. "We also know you love each other very much, but reality is just this cruel," Chen Guofu also advised. "If you insist on going your own way, it is very likely to bring threats to your safety."
