Chapter 1914
Li Hao felt a fear and helplessness he had never known before. He watched those burly men slowly approach him, and a sense of despair filled his heart. He knew he was trapped here and had to find a way to escape.
"Wait!" Li Hao suddenly shouted, "You can't do this!"
The middle-aged man smiled: "Why not? You have no way back."
Li Hao took a deep breath: "Because I am a police officer! I have a mission! You cannot treat me like this!"
Hearing this news, the middle-aged man's face showed an expression of surprise. After sizing Li Hao up, he said: "Impossible! You are just an ordinary person!"
Seeing this, Li Hao sneered: "You are wrong! I am an undercover police officer! I have been investigating Chen Long's criminal gang!"
As soon as his words fell, those burly men froze.
They exchanged a glance and immediately rushed at Li Hao.
An intense fight began.
Li Hao was skilled, but the opponents were numerous and extremely vicious.
He gradually felt unable to cope; as time passed, Li Hao felt his strength gradually draining. He understood he could not continue like this and had to quickly figure out a way to get away.
At that moment, he noticed the middle-aged man standing aside, observing his fight.
Li Hao's heart stirred; he suddenly struggled with all his might and charged toward the middle-aged man.
Seeing this, the middle-aged man panicked and retreated. Li Hao took the opportunity to rush into the factory.
He heard footsteps behind him and knew those burly men were chasing him.
He ran desperately, trying to find an exit. But the factory's interior was pitch black, and it was filled with discarded machines and debris.
Li Hao felt his steps gradually grow heavy, while the burly men behind him drew closer and closer. He knew he had to think of another way to shake them off.
Suddenly, an idea occurred to him. He quickly hid behind an abandoned truck, then cautiously poked his head out to observe the surroundings.
Not long after, those burly men also rushed into the factory. They searched everywhere for Li Hao's whereabouts.
Li Hao took the opportunity to quietly leave the factory and return to his car; he quickly started the engine and drove away, leaving only those burly men in the factory, bewildered, watching his silhouette disappear into the darkness. They immediately reported this news to the middle-aged man. After hearing it, the middle-aged man angrily swept everything off the table: "Useless! With so many of you, you let a police officer escape! I want you all dead!"
Then came his angry roar. After Li Hao returned to the city, he knew this conflict was not over. He knew he had to be more careful, or not only would his own life be at risk, but those around him as well.
He returned home and saw Wang Ting sitting on the sofa waiting for him. He walked over and hugged her: "I'm back."
Seeing Li Hao return safely, Wang Ting let out a long sigh of relief: "It's good you're okay; I was so worried."
Li Hao smiled slightly: "Don't worry, I will protect myself."
Wang Ting hugged Li Hao tightly: "I don't want you to leave me."
Li Hao stroked Wang Ting's hair: "I won't leave you; I will always stay by your side."
Just as the two were immersed in happiness, a knocking sound suddenly came from the door. Li Hao looked alertly toward the entrance and signaled Wang Ting not to move. He walked step by step toward the door and opened it.
There stood Chen Long and his henchmen at the door, their faces wearing cruel smiles.
Li Hao's heart tightened; he knew this conflict had escalated. He quickly closed the door and stood in front of Wang Ting.
Chen Long said coldly: "Do you think you can run away? I will make your life worse than death!"
Li Hao looked at Chen Long without fear: "What do you want?"
Chen Long laughed wildly: "I want you dead! Get him!" At his command, the henchmen charged at Li Hao. An intense fight began again.
Although Li Hao was skilled, facing a villain like Chen Long still left him somewhat struggling. He was kicked several times, the pain almost unbearable. Yet he persisted, knowing that if he slackened even slightly, he would lose his life.
Just as the crisis loomed, the sound of police sirens suddenly came. Several police cars stopped at the scene, and the officers quickly surrounded Chen Long and the others.
The officers shouted: "Everyone get down on the ground! Or don't blame us for shooting!"
Seeing this, Chen Long and the others immediately dropped to the ground. They were handcuffed by the police and then taken away.
Li Hao breathed a sigh of relief; he knew this danger had finally passed. He looked gratefully at the officers: "Thank you."
The officers smiled: "It's nothing; you are a good police officer. Be careful in the future."
Having said that, they continued on with their duties. After Li Hao returned home, he was physically and mentally exhausted. Looking at himself in the mirror, he found injuries in many places and knew he needed time to recover. He understood in his heart that this conflict was far from over; Chen Long's appearance was only the beginning.
He knew he had to take action, or both he and Wang Ting would fall into danger. He decided to report the matter to his superior and request protection.
Early the next morning, he arrived at the police station. After hearing his report, his superior's face turned solemn. They realized this case involved the interests of a gang and needed to be handled with greater caution.
"I will arrange some protective measures for you," the superior said. "At the same time, we will conduct a thorough investigation into Chen Long. This case must be resolved as soon as possible."
Li Hao looked gratefully at his superior: "Thank you."
However, after returning home, Li Hao found Chen Long's henchmen waiting for him.
They walked step by step toward Li Hao, their faces showing cruel smiles.
Li Hao's heart tightened; he knew this conflict had escalated. He quickly drew his pistol and aimed it at the heads of those henchmen.
Seeing this, those henchmen immediately stopped in their tracks; they were frightened by Li Hao's action.
They retreated a few steps, then turned and fled.
Li Hao breathed a sigh of relief; he knew this conflict had become even more dangerous.
He had to take more cautious action, or both he and Wang Ting would fall into danger.
He decided to request his superior to strengthen protective measures to ensure the safety of both him and Wang Ting.
He knew this conflict must be resolved as soon as possible, or both he and Wang Ting would face even greater danger.
