Chapter 1962: Keep Hitting Him

~2 min read 274 words

At eight o'clock in the evening, the chairman's secretary, Xiao Wang, pushed open the door and entered the chairman's office.

She looked at the chairman and said, "Sir, the items we ordered are all ready; delivery will begin at 9:30 tomorrow morning."

The chairman nodded, picked up a pen on the desk, wrote a number on a piece of paper, handed it to Xiao Wang, and instructed, "Send the order to them at the address I've marked."

"Yes." Xiao Wang nodded.

The chairman glanced at Xiao Wang: "You may go back now."

Xiao Wang left the chairman's office and closed the door.

The chairman rubbed his head, then pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from the drawer.

He pulled out one, lit it, took a deep drag, and exhaled the smoke out the window.

After a long while, he slowly released a smoke ring. His gaze pierced through the glass window toward the distance.

"Zhang Zhiqiang, Zhang Zhiqiang, you really are lucky to have survived! You didn't die after all. Why did you choose to live? What are you even living for? Are you coming back to die?" he muttered to himself.

"Boss."

Suddenly, a man's voice came from behind the chairman.

The chairman turned around, looked at the man, frowned slightly, and said coldly, "What are you doing here?"

The man chuckled: "Boss, you say that? Do I need a reason to come see you? Our bond is as close as brothers—have you forgotten?"

The man's name is Zhou Weiqiang, the chairman's personal bodyguard and assistant. He had followed the chairman for many years and was his most trusted man.
