Chapter 5: Demonic Pill? Reversal! Establishing the Supreme Foundation!

You really aren't planning to go back with your senior sister?

Or maybe not, senior sister.

Hearing Lu Chen refuse, Mei Qianxue seemed to have already anticipated it.

She gave a meaningful smile, and after taking the token Lu Chen handed over, she again took out a pill from her storage bag.

This pill will help you build your foundation; after taking it, refine it well..." She said, her voice pausing, but she quickly continued, "If you break through, come find me tomorrow morning."

She didn't care how Lu Chen answered; after speaking, she threw the pill over and left.

Thank you, senior sister, for the treasure!

Lu Chen put on a forced look as if he had gained a priceless treasure, and only after seeing her leave did he let out a relieved sigh.

Another day of just scraping by...

Being in the Demonic Sect is truly not easy.

After she had completely vanished, he lowered his eyes to look at the pill in his hand.

Pitch black...... It's likely not some poison pill.

Before he could finish speaking, the system suddenly popped up a reminder.

【Detected pill, Blood-Erosion Foundation Setting Pill!】

【Original effect: A Qi Refining Ninth Layer cultivator who takes it has a small chance to break through to Foundation Establishment. The pill contains a large amount of medicinal toxin, which will severely affect the foundation; even if breakthrough succeeds, only a low-grade foundation can be established. Moreover, cultivation will thereafter stagnate forever, making further progress impossible!】

【Reversal effect: After taking it, breakthrough to Foundation Establishment is certain. The pill contains a large amount of peerless heavenly medicinal ingredients; after a successful breakthrough, only a supreme foundation can be established. Moreover, cultivation will thereafter have no bottlenecks, from now on a smooth path!】

Indeed!!

Lu Chen revealed an expression that confirmed it; although the other party seemed kind-hearted on the surface, he knew that in the Demonic Sect, every benefit comes with a price.

The sect's grand competition is imminent; he had long been fought over by countless senior sisters. If he could break through to Foundation Establishment at this critical juncture, even the most ordinary foundation would greatly enhance the other party's dual cultivation efficiency.

I'm using her for gain, but she wants my life!

Thinking of this, he felt a sudden headache.

However, he soon turned his gaze to the reversal effect shown by the system.

Peerless heavenly medicinal ingredients?!

And only a supreme foundation can be established?!

When he first joined the sect, Lu Chen had heard an elder say that establishing an initial-grade foundation allows entry into the inner door, while establishing a medium-grade foundation makes one a core disciple.

Even sect elders and the sect leader possess at most a high-grade foundation.

Recalling the scene from his memory, a hint of strange color flashed in his eyes.

Afterward, he turned his gaze to the final line of text.

【Moreover, cultivation will thereafter have no bottlenecks, from now on a smooth path!】

The chasm that all cultivators spend their lifetimes trying to cross does not exist here at all!

What a heaven-defying reversal!

Seeing this text, his originally despondent mood vanished instantly, and his steps home unconsciously quickened.

Just as he reached his doorstep, a figure suddenly appeared in his mind.

The Female Yama King seemed to have said that excessive soul consumption would cause her to fall into a sleep, or something like that.

Because today had been busy, he momentarily forgot that a Demonic Race Empress resided within his body.

Normally at this hour, she would directly contact Lu Chen via soul link to have him go to sleep early.

Looking at the situation now, she must have fallen into a sleep.

Estimated, she might not wake up for three to five days.

Thinking of the empress's sleep, Lu Chen felt both happy and sad.

The happy part is that he doesn't have to spend the whole night being dragged into dual cultivation by her.

The sad part is that the newly awakened Reversal System had no chance to take effect.

The empress's dual cultivation technique is very strong, and the system's reversal effect grows stronger with it; he had originally looked forward to tonight's dual cultivation, but since she's asleep, we'll talk about it later.

Hmm......

After some thought, he decided not to sleep tonight and to devote his time to making a full breakthrough.

Only a few days remain until the deadline for breaking through to Foundation Establishment, and he has no time to waste.

He sat cross-legged on the bed and took out the Blood-Erosion Foundation Setting Pill that Mei Qianxue had given him.

Without further hesitation, he immediately put the pill into his mouth.

In an instant, a warm, pure medicinal power dissolved and quickly spread throughout his body.

He felt as if an incomparably mighty force was surging wildly within him, his meridians, flesh, and bones being thoroughly cleansed at this moment.

Hum!

With the explosion of medicinal power, a humming sound came from within Lu Chen's body.

This power even affected the slumbering Qi Luo Empress.

Afterward, his aura began to rise, and the surrounding spiritual and lethal energies began to pour into his body at an extremely terrifying speed.

At his dantian, a vague foundation began to gradually coalesce into form.

What terrifying power! Is this the terror of establishing a supreme foundation?

Lu Chen was utterly shocked; he felt like he was no longer himself, and after such cleansing, at this moment he seemed to have exchanged his body for a supreme one.

Casually circulating spiritual power was now ten times stronger, even dozens of times stronger than before.

Moreover, his perception and such were completely overturned.

I thought this power would stop here, but the next moment an even purer power surged skyward, causing tremors that even covered the entire Nine Abyss Gate.

At this moment, the slumbering Qi Luo Empress instantly awakened.

"This is......?"

The Empress was puzzled; how had Lu Chen's sea of consciousness suddenly expanded dozens of times, and his soul had become much stronger all at once?

"This guy, as soon as I fell asleep he gave me trouble......"

She knew something must have happened, and immediately expended what little soul power she had, forcibly projecting her soul out of her body.

The instant her soul's apparition appeared, she saw Lu Chen sitting cross-legged inside the room, in the midst of a breakthrough.

"Is he trying to establish his foundation?! This......"

"This......"

"What grade of Dao Foundation is this?!!!"

Noticing the Dao Foundation slowly condensing within Lu Chen's body, she was greatly astonished.

Even she had never seen a Dao Foundation of this level before.

Dao Foundations are graded by the number of Dao lines they contain, from one line to eight lines as follows:

Low, Medium, High, Spiritual, Extreme, Royal, Immortal, Imperial...

When she first ascended to the Ask Emperor Realm, she had only condensed an eight-line Imperial-grade Dao Foundation.

"Could it be a supreme Dao Foundation?!"

"I thought such a Dao Foundation existed only in legend, but I never expected......"

Although she was greatly shocked, the Empress quickly realized what problem Lu Chen would face at this moment.

If the disturbance from establishing the foundation is too great, it will surely draw the scrutiny of all powerful beings from every direction.

Within a radius of thousands of miles, demon sects are everywhere, demon cultivators' hearts are unfathomable; although he has determined the supreme Dao Foundation, at its core he is merely at the foundation-establishment stage, and if he were to attract attention because of it, one need not fear ten thousand but fear the one chance.

"This move is indeed a defiance of heaven...... my soul power is already scarce......"

Although the Empress's soul power is extremely weak, she still possesses tremendous strength.

Forcibly using this power can indeed directly conceal the phenomenon caused by Lu Chen's foundation establishment.

But the cost is also enormous.

"Well, anyway, his foundation establishment upon me is also a good thing."

"At worst, after I wake up, I'll just ruthlessly reap the benefits again!"
