Chapter 173: The Invitation of the Tuning Dimension
"OK, done! Went very smoothly."
Bai Jing stood unsteadily on Jupiter, and at this moment, its appearance had changed dramatically.
With Ye La's assistance and Bai Jing's own endurance, its transformation proceeded very smoothly.
Though overall it still resembled a knight, its gems had grown duller; beyond its knightly form, behind its back, countless red puppet threads continuously twisted and wound, like angelic wings.
Shadow-Dependent God — Divine Child Jing — meaning: God's Guardian Angel.
But as the name suggests, Ye La clearly hadn't thought it through carefully — because "grigori" in Divine Child Jing also carries the connotation of fallen angel… hmm, looking back at what happened later, everything made sense.
"Oh oh! This look is so much better—look, Tiancheng Guang, I told you we should've upgraded it to Fire attribute, right?" Ye La stared at Bai Jing's new form, tilting its head and chattering nonstop.
"It's just a bit too big," Tiancheng Guang looked up, tilting his head.
To let Bai Jing endure more "pain and hatred," it had to be expanded and enlarged, so it could gradually and normally adapt to this new power.
But for Bai Jing, this wasn't a problem at all — because it could still simulate its previous form.
Though its core had already transformed into another card, the spirit could move freely between its different cards, just like Judai's Winged Kuriboh, which outwardly appeared as Winged Kuriboh but was actually Big Tornado Hero, yet could still manifest as Winged Kuriboh using its card.
Previously, Bai Jing had already used Light Prism Crystal and simulated diamonds.
Now, Tiancheng Guang even had two more cards in hand: Orange Crystal and Gem Knight King — though both cards were still in the "shattered and restructured" phase and needed to be shrunk to an appropriate size, but there was plenty of "body" available for it to use.
After attempting to move slightly, it dissolved into light, flowing into Tiancheng Guang's deck, then reappeared beside him — but now it wore a different armor, transformed into Light Prism Crystal.
It still preferred this size.
Tiancheng Guang checked the time.
He turned to look at Wan Rong Alchemist and Golden Heresy God — the two spirits in his faction representing the "scientific" and "rational" factions — and entrusted them without hesitation: "I'm counting on you to awaken the other spirits."
"Rest assured, Master," Wan Rong Alchemist grinned confidently, "I've got this!"
It had been studying under Master Professor Dadesi's alchemy ever since following Tiancheng Guang, and though not a formal disciple, it had fully adopted Professor Dadesi's system — the alchemy of armor enhancement had long been abandoned.
With the alchemy of a legendary alchemist to learn, it would surely succeed in creating gold!
Tiancheng Guang watched its determined expression, ready to test its newly acquired knowledge on the spirits, and chuckled helplessly twice.
At least it wouldn't turn living beings into alchemical materials.
Golden Heresy God gently patted its own body, signaling Tiancheng Guang to relax — though it had little presence and was often harassed by the alchemist, precisely because it was constantly bothered, it was the one who could best control Wan Rong.
"Um… Lord Midrash…" Bai Jing needed to stay behind to assist in awakening Gem Knight Xiao Liu, so it wanted to ask Ye La to protect Tiancheng Guang.
"Enough, enough, go take care of that little knight. Do you think I can't handle it?" Ye La didn't even let Bai Jing finish, "And you two swordsmen — stay inside the workshop, don't wander out unless necessary, train hard, got it?"
The two swordsmen glanced at Tiancheng Guang. Though they had witnessed Ye La's "divine authority," and though many spirits in Tiancheng Guang's faction now obeyed Ye La to some degree, the two brothers still followed only Tiancheng Guang's orders — without his permission, even Ye La couldn't command them.
Tiancheng Guang nodded. The swordsmen bowed to him, then Flame Sword grinned and slapped Bai Jing's arm playfully before heading off to the "training room" — the core of the workshop, where the Philosopher's Stone resided.
After arranging matters within the workshop, Tiancheng Guang returned to the human world. He stretched his body, picked up his phone, and checked whether anyone had tried to contact him during his absence.
Though school was on break, someone occasionally still reached out to him.
For example, Judai might have wanted to invite him to play cards in the activity room.
But even with preparations made, Tiancheng Guang hadn't expected so many missed calls and voicemails.
What happened?
I was only gone one day.
What major event occurred?
Tiancheng Guang first checked to confirm the company hadn't contacted him, then proceeded to listen to the voicemails.
Wan Wan Zhangmu, San Ze, and Judai had all left messages — what happened?
He played the messages.
"Oh!?" Hearing the messages, Ye La beside him perked up.
"This sounds pretty interesting, Tiancheng Guang."
Tiancheng Guang didn't rush to reply; instead, he quickly played through the other friends' messages, confirmed the general situation, then hastily packed his things and ran toward the Fusion Department's activity room.
Upon bursting into the activity room, the crowd was startled by his entrance; once they recognized Tiancheng Guang, scattered voices arose.
"Ah Guang!" "Guang Ge!" "Master —"
"Tiancheng, where did you go yesterday!" Wan Wan Zhangmu noticed Tiancheng Guang rushing in and immediately waved him over, "Quick, come here!"
"So the S-Dimension humans have decided to make their first contact with us? Really?!" Tiancheng Guang asked offhandedly.
"Ah, yes," he nodded, then immediately added, "This is a great opportunity!"
This was precisely what Ye La meant by "interesting."
Tiancheng Guang sat down with his friends.
This was an internal Seagull Corp. rumor — at this point, even Wan Wan Zhangmu showed no hesitation in sharing "exclusive intelligence," and had no thought of being Katsuya Jonouchi's disciple and refraining from leveraging Seagull Corp.'s resources.
If not now, when?
According to Seagull Corp.'s internal information, an official from S-Dimension had decided to initiate first contact with their dimension — a "trial" from S-Dimension, which had previously been extremely hostile toward parallel-world humans. Earlier, after Seagull Corp.'s expedition team accidentally entered S-Dimension and was discovered by its police, progress in communication between the two worlds had repeatedly stalled; their world had always deeply distrusted this one.
After more than half a year, S-Dimension finally decided to ease tensions and initiate first contact.
Of course — through duels.
"If this first contact succeeds, it's another entirely new blue ocean!" Wan Wan Zhangmu calculated wildly.
For him, this was a golden chance to undermine his older brothers and gain greater prestige within the corporation.
"So how will the contact happen?" Tiancheng Guang asked curiously.
"Master has decided to hold tournaments in different regions, selecting duelists according to S-Dimension's requirements across various tiers."
"So there'll be categories like students, right!" Tiancheng Guang rubbed his hands together.
"No, you don't need to participate," Wan Wan Zhangmu chuckled.
"?" Tiancheng Guang frowned in confusion.
"Your performance in your duel with X-Dimension was exceptional — Master has already internally selected you to join — as long as you want to go," Wan Wan Zhangmu couldn't help laughing, "The Absolute Fusionist… lately, people online have been calling you that, especially after the video of your duel with Dragon Long Qi went viral."
Wow.
Tiancheng Guang grinned.
This is the advantage of fame!
So awesome —
