Chapter 180: The Monster Card That Best Represents the World (Requesting Monthly Tickets)

"Incredible, you guy—now I'm even more determined to beat you!" Yu Wu excitedly screeched like a monkey.

"Activate the effect of OMK gum as a Synchro material!"

"This card can only be activated when sent to the graveyard as a Synchro material! Send one card from the top of your deck to the graveyard; if it's a Rush Synchro monster card, the ATK of the Synchro monster using this card as material increases by 1000 points!"

"Another gamble on luck?"

"Hahaha, this guy's awesome!"

"Not luck—it's destiny. I trust my deck; it will deliver exactly what I need!" Yu Wu swiftly flipped the top card of his deck, glanced at it, and immediately grinned, "The card sent to the graveyard is Rush Synchro Boomerang!"

"Thus, the ATK of Synchro Wing Dragon increases by 1000 points!"

"Aaaooo!!" Synchro Wing Dragon let out a deafening roar, boosting its own ATK.

Synchro Wing Dragon ATK: 2500 → 3500.

"Next, activate the spell card, Hidden Shot!"

He pulled two cards from the graveyard: "This card can banish up to two 【Rush Synchro】 monsters from the graveyard, and can only be activated targeting an equal number of cards on the field. Destroy those cards!"

"I banish OMK gum and Boomerang from the graveyard to destroy your Continuous Spell card, Flame Sword Domain, and your trap card!"

Flame Sword Domain instantly tore apart; the Flame Sword Warrior, watching his longtime companion and eternal spell destroyed, could only shrug. On the other side, the other card had already been revealed.

"Trap card: Recollection of the Destroying Blade!"

"Huh?" Wu Teng You let out a soft exclamation.

"This is a Fusion Trap Card that can be activated from the graveyard—but what I'm activating now is its first effect." He revealed a card in his hand, "Discard one 【Destroying Blade】 card from your hand to activate: Special Summon one 【Destroying Blade Warrior】 monster from your deck!"

"I discard Destroying Blade Fusion from my hand to Special Summon—Destroying Blade Warrior!"

A mighty armored warrior swung a massive greatsword, appearing on Tiancheng Guang's field.

"Whoa! Destroying Blade Warrior—so that card has a Fusion version too?"

"Wasn't that the prize you got when you started school? Seems like today's the first time you've used it. What's he planning?" A few of Shi Dai's buddies were confused.

Destroying Blade Warrior, Level 7, Earth Attribute, Warrior Type, ATK 2600 → 3100

"Destroying Blade Warrior gains 500 ATK for each Dragon-type monster on either field or graveyard!"

"Phew… that was close," Yu Wu exhaled in relief.

Luckily, he didn't directly destroy the front-row monster; otherwise, he could've still summoned a 2600 ATK wall with this card, then wait until next turn to summon a new Flame Sword Warrior with Flame Sword Dance—and he'd lose.

Thank goodness he listened to Lin and destroyed the back row early.

"Will that monster gain ATK based on Dragon-type monsters?" Yu Wu pondered.

One was a 1800 ATK Warrior, the other a seemingly inert Fusion Tuner—compared to that, Destroying Blade Warrior was clearly the greater threat—

"Battle! Synchro Wing Dragon, attack Destroying Blade Warrior!"

"Cyclone Dive Slash!"

Synchro Wing Dragon shook its arms, two blade-like wind slashes materializing from its hands. Then, in a flash, it appeared before Destroying Blade Warrior and tore it apart instantly.

Tiancheng Guang LP: 3500 → 3100.

"Precise judgment," Tiancheng Guang glanced at his hand.

Unfortunately, his hand had no Divine Yingyi series cards—if it had, he'd have already crushed his opponent.

But—

That didn't mean he had no counters for his opponent.

"Still, you look a bit young."

"What?! Are you saying I can't win just because I'm young?!"

"Ah, no such thing. It's just that you still have a lot of room to grow—my turn, draw!"

Tiancheng Guang sharply drew a card.

Ye La, who had been leaning close, watching the duel, finally burst into laughter: "Perfect, Tiancheng Guang! Show the whole world this card right now!"

She chuckled, "Going to the Magic Clan's Village this month wasn't wasted—those magic scientists really know how to get things!"

Tiancheng Guang nodded.

During this month's preparation phase, after arranging the spirits in his workshop, Tiancheng Guang visited the Magic Clan's Village—and unexpectedly obtained a brand-new Fusion monster. And this one? It was the card that best represented their world.

That magic scientist was truly incredible—he could get cards like the Old Gods and "Wave Long Qishi," yet somehow even managed to acquire this Fusion monster.

But clearly, there was no chance to use Wave Long Qishi now—yet this card? Perfect.

"Activate the effect of Destroying Blade Fusion in the graveyard! When this card is in the graveyard, discard one card to activate: Add this card from the graveyard to your hand."

Tiancheng Guang sent the card he just drawn to the graveyard, then automatically retrieved the card from the graveyard into his hand.

"Next, activate the Continuous Spell Card, Super Future Fusion! This card lets you reveal one Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, then send from your deck to the graveyard any card whose name is listed as a Fusion material for that monster!"

"I reveal—Yin Liuxing Black Dragon!"

"Send Yin Liuxing Dragon from my deck to the graveyard!"

"Wait, what's Guang doing?" Several people familiar with Tiancheng Guang exchanged glances, puzzled by his strange move.

Today, Guang's strategy was truly unlike his usual style.

"All preparations are complete!"

"Oh! Is Tiancheng Guang declaring victory?!" MC timely began commentary, "But Yu Wu still has a monster with 3500 ATK on the field!"

There's simply no card on the field capable of stopping it now!"

Could Tiancheng Guang possibly have a powerful monster in his hand capable of reversing this situation?!"

"It's not that easy!" Yu Wu shouted at MC's words, "My Synchro Wing Dragon can negate and destroy the effects of any monster Level 5 or higher, and even gain its ATK! Even if you have something strong—"

"No," Tiancheng Guang raised his hand and gently shook his head, "I currently have only—Fusion Spell Cards—in my hand!"

"Huh?"

"Only Fusion Spell Cards?" MC muttered blankly, "Can a deck like that even win?"

Even someone as experienced as him couldn't help asking.

But upon closer thought—he was right. Tiancheng Guang had been using only Fusion-related cards all along; every single one carried Fusion effects.

"You're dueling with a deck like that?" Yu Wu asked in astonishment.

"Of course! Because—I believe Fusion is the noblest summoning method. I seek the ultimate Fusion, so I only need Fusion!"

"Activate the Fusion Spell Card—"

"Harmonious Magic!"

He snapped his fingers, pinching the card between his thumb and forefinger, flipping it to reveal its true face.

"Harmonious Magic is a Fusion Spell Card exclusive to the Spellcaster Type. By banishing Fusion materials from the graveyard, you can Fusion Summon one Spellcaster monster!"

"Huh? Spellcaster monster? But Guang's graveyard only has… oh!"

"What did Tiancheng Guang discard with Destroying Blade Fusion?!"

Tiancheng Guang didn't turn around—he swiftly pulled two cards from the graveyard and displayed them to all spectators.

At this moment—

Not just those present, but everyone watching this duel could clearly see what card it was—

Kaima Rensei shot to his feet; Wu Teng You couldn't help smiling faintly and nodding.

In this instant, in Tiancheng Guang's world, every duelist watching this scene could see what he was about to do—

【FUSION】!

"Fusion materials are—

Dark Magician and Destroying Blade Warrior!!"

He raised both hands, then clasped them together.

"The greatest magician of all generations, the warrior who hunts the Destroying Dragon!"

"Witness this moment!"

"The legendary magician now descends—"

"Fusion Summon!!"

"Super Magical Swordsman—Dark Magician Swordsman!"

Riiip—

A strange ripple tore open space; a robed magician stepped forth from the air and landed firmly on the ground.

Super Magical Swordsman—Dark Magician Swordsman.

Level 8, Dark Attribute, Spellcaster Type, ATK 2900

"Eh? Whoa, what?"

"Huh… whaaat?!"

"Super Magical Swordsman inherits Destroying Blade Warrior's effect: For each Dragon-type monster on either field or graveyard, his ATK increases by 500 points!" Tiancheng Guang pointed at his opponent. "This is a continuous effect, so even your Dragon can't negate it!"

"Ugh—" Yu Wu slumped his head.

That was true.

Super Magical Swordsman ATK: 2900 → 3900

Normally, duelists from different worlds didn't know each other's decks, so Yu Wu didn't need to worry about being countered.

But unfortunately—

Tiancheng Guang saw him and knew he'd definitely have a "Summoned Dragon."

Not countering him with Divine Yingyi or Destroying Blade would've been an insult to himself.

Even though he didn't draw Divine Yingyi, using this counter? Even more impressive!

"Battle! Super Magical Swordsman, attack!"

"Ultra Magic Slash Wave!"

The Ultra Magic Swordsman swung his massive magic sword, leaped into the air, and slashed down upon the Synchro Dragon of Illusory Wings.

"Waaah—" You Wu bounced around wildly, trying to support the Synchro Dragon, but was ultimately crushed beneath it, losing life points.

You Wu LP: 2200 → 1800.

"And then..." Tiancheng Guang smiled faintly, gesturing to the Flame Swordsman. The Flame Swordsman noticed Tiancheng Guang's smile, immediately understood, and joyfully raised his weapon, "Flame Swordsman's direct attack!"

You Wu LP: 1800 → 0

"Aaaah!!!" You Wu was struck on the forehead by the Flame Swordsman's great sword, rolled over clutching his head, crying out in pain.

The duel ended, the image vanished, but both City and Kaiba Corporation remained deathly silent.

"Ooooh—The Friendship Cup Duel Opening Match! Winner: the Dimensional Duelist—Absolute Fusion Master, Tiancheng Guang!" MC, utterly unconcerned with the gravity of the moment, excitedly announced the result, "Brilliantly crafted, perfect direct strike, and absolute fusion—"

"All cards activated were Fusion cards! That is the Dimensional Duelist—Tiancheng Guang!!"

He joyfully proclaimed the outcome, as if he and the others existed in two separate worlds.

The duel was over.

But the upheaval sparked by this first duel was merely the "beginning"!
