Chapter 193: Riding Duel, Accelerate!

~6 min read 1,082 words

After the police woke up, Tiancheng Guang briefly negotiated with them, returned to the alternate dimension base, and then studied his deck for a while.

First and foremost, obtaining the "Yōuhé" was undoubtedly the most joyful event for Tiancheng Guang.

Tiancheng Guang's spare cards actually included "Yōuhé – Yōugui Fusion," but this card is the OCG version of Yōugui Fusion, requiring the user's Life Points to be lower than the opponent's to banish monsters from the deck for fusion.

Although this card would likely activate successfully in most cases, it certainly didn't bring him the same delight as the original version of "Yōuhé" gifted by the Skull Knight—just as, despite owning various types of Future Fusion, what excited him most was still the original version as an Equip Spell Card.

After concluding this matter, the Friendship Cup with the S-Dimension proceeded smoothly.

Fifteen days may not seem short, but in truth, it passed in the blink of an eye.

Since the opponents were either randomly recruited by City or duelists from the Satellite Zone, their side achieved an unexpectedly overwhelming victory; anyone who participated in the duel gained immense fame, becoming a hot topic among duelists and audiences across the world—even John, despite losing, attracted widespread attention due to the uniqueness of his Jade Beast deck.

Naturally, the victorious duelists received even greater attention.

Under these circumstances, the agreed-upon "fifteenth day" arrived.

According to discussions between City and their side, today the "King" of the S-Dimension's duelists would showcase his prowess and demonstrate this dimension's unique form of dueling.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the thrilling moment we've all been waiting for—our 【King】's duel—is finally here!" MC shouted into the microphone, standing atop an aircraft, "Riding Duel! The soul of City!"

Hum—

Accompanied by his shout.

Amidst the gaze of countless duelists and audiences from two worlds, a powerful engine roar suddenly erupted as a white, ring-shaped motorcycle sped toward them.

The white, ring-shaped motorcycle came to a stop before the temporary base of Kaiba Corporation, then sharply leaned sideways with a hissing sound, halting in place.

A blond-haired man wearing white goggles stood on one foot, one hand gripping the bike, the other pointing to the sky, shouting: "There's only one King—and that's me!"

"Jack Atlas!"

"The King—Jack Atlas!! The absolute monarch of City!!" MC screamed hoarsely.

Meanwhile, the students of Kaiba Corporation were stunned by Jack's grand entrance.

Forget about his strength—just tell me, isn't he cool?

Jack Atlas was already a textbook handsome blond guy; combined with this pose and line, his looks alone could easily fool three women into fighting over him.

Then Jack said nothing, simply gazing straight at Kaiba Corporation's side—more precisely, at Seto Kaiba.

"Hmph↑↓…" Seto Kaiba regarded the man with interest.

This guy is different from the previous crowd-pullers.

In Seto Kaiba's view, the duelists previously chosen by the S-Dimension—except for Yusei—were all just spectators or nuisances.

But this "King" was different—he genuinely had something to him.

"Then—the King's opponent is from the alternate dimension, South American Branch, Angarma!"

Angarma?

Tiancheng Guang looked toward the Fusion Army.

He was one of the Fusion Army's competitors; before this, Tiancheng Guang didn't even know his name until his debut match.

How to describe his dueling…? He won, yes, but not in a "pleasant" way—he drew criticism from Kaiba Corporation staff and was considered one of the more unpleasant duelists.

Tiancheng Guang thought for a moment.

It seemed this Jack was most likely the original version—not the manga or A5 version.

Though it sounds absurd, it's true—the opponent Jack chooses reveals just how strong he is.

The manga version of Jack brutally crushed Yusei upon debut; the A5 version crushed Yuya; both were unstoppable powerhouses who dominated the protagonists. But the original version of Jack was different: though Yusei remembered being crushed by him once, Jack's status as "King" in the original version was inflated—he was nowhere near as invincible as the other two versions.

Often, Godwin used various methods to arrange opponents for Jack—or even pressure or bribe them into letting him win.

Though he might still win, he certainly wasn't invincible.

Likewise—it seemed the S-Dimension's Public Security Bureau had carefully selected Jack's opponent.

Someone who won but performed poorly and was widely disliked—perfect for facing Jack in a never-before-seen Riding Duel as his debut opponent in another dimension.

Angarma was also bewildered; with Kaiba Corporation's help, he managed to sit on his D-Wheel, then nervously asked how he was supposed to duel—only to learn he had to duel while riding, and he immediately shook his head, saying no.

Though he was a Fusion Army duelist, he couldn't drive!

"Don't worry—since this is a demonstration match, the bike is fully automated and won't go too fast," Kaiba Corporation staff explained, finally putting his mind at ease.

If that's the case, then it's fine—

Ha ha! Then let the world witness the power of our Fusion Army!

"Then, let me introduce to the alternate dimension's audience a new form of duel—the evolved duel!" MC, somehow now standing on a stage, lifted his leg high as he walked past a motorcycle.

"Riding Duel—the new form of dueling promoted by our world! Duelists race on D-Wheels, empowered by the wind, with only one goal: to overtake your opponent! Overtake your opponent!"

"Overtake your opponent!"

The rules are simple—two additional rules beyond standard dueling!

First: the first duelist to complete the entire course wins!

Second: if the bike stops moving for an extended period during the Riding Duel, you lose!"

"Each turn, the high-speed world of Riding Duel adds one Speed Counter to the duelist; the more Speed Counters, the faster the D-Wheel becomes.

Conversely! When taking heavy damage, you lose Speed Counters!"

Tiancheng Guang listened to the rules and nodded—he recognized most of them.

But the rules about completing the course and stopping the bike might as well be ignored—Tiancheng Guang had never seen anyone finish the full course; as for stopping, during later World Championships, Jack even pushed his bike on foot without penalty.

In reality, the duel itself remained the most important part.

Moreover, it seemed magic cards could be used normally in this world's Riding Duel—making the problem even smaller.

Though he likely wouldn't participate in Riding Duels himself, it was still good news.

At least, if he ever had to duel in the future, he wouldn't have to worry about being unable to use Fusion.
