Chapter 219: Duel Against the Amazon Sisters

Tiancheng Guang returned to the duel arena; hearing there was another duel to watch, some students who had been leaving rushed back.

Having just seen Tiancheng Guang "pretend to one-shot" his opponent, and now hearing that a transfer student from America would face off against a member of Tiancheng Guang's Fusion Department in a tag duel, most students with no urgent business stayed, thinking, "With so much entertainment today, how could I possibly leave?"

After all, interesting and powerful duels don't come around often.

Moreover, duels between the Fusion Department and the Combination Department are a school tradition!

They'd never even done a tag duel before!

Tiancheng Guang stepped onto the stage; on the other side, Serena waved excitedly, and the Taylor sisters glanced at her, whispering briefly.

Serena, daughter of Professor Chi Ma, they had heard of. But the "task" associated with Serena was not their responsibility, and they had no interest in such matters.

They wanted to fight powerful duelists!

On the duel platform, Wan Wan Zhangmu crossed his arms, slightly bowed his head, and wore a smug smile—looking very self-satisfied.

But this was how he appeared to ordinary people.

To those who possessed spirit power, at this moment, three bizarre little monsters surrounded him, tugging at him incessantly, saying, "Big brother, cheer up!" "Big brother, the opponent is strong—be careful!" "Big brother, Big Brother Wan Wan Zhangmu, say something!"

"Shut up!" Wan Wan Zhangmu couldn't hold it anymore; his mid-tier persona cracked, and he roared at them, "Be quiet!"

"But big brother, those two women are terrifying!"

"Yeah, yeah! Back in the S Dimension, those two women were terrifying!"

The three Chaos Monsters continued pestering Wan Wan Zhangmu; with these three spirits speaking, more and more lower-tier spirits appeared around him, constantly reminding him, making him increasingly exasperated.

At that moment, Tiancheng Guang walked over; the spirits instantly noticed Tierra, floating behind Tiancheng Guang with a smiling expression. The previously noisy spirits fell silent at once; many vanished in fear, and even the Chaos Brothers scrambled to hide behind Wan Wan Zhangmu.

Tierra glanced at them; the entire group shuddered. But Tierra gave no response—not a word—she simply floated alongside Tiancheng Guang onto the field, idly propping her cheek with her left hand, waiting for the duel.

"Oh, Tiancheng, you finally showed up."

"Professor Chronos wanted to speak with me," Tiancheng Guang explained, then asked, "Have you and the others decided? How did you decide so fast?"

"Heh heh, of course, by this." Wan Wan Zhangmu raised his fist.

"What? You actually fought?!" Tiancheng Guang was stunned.

"What are you talking about? Rock-paper-scissors! Rock-paper-scissors!" Wan Wan Zhangmu was startled, rapidly switching his right hand between scissors, rock, and paper.

So plain.

But that made sense.

Judai didn't participate, Asuka didn't participate; in this situation, Wan Wan Zhangmu was indeed the easiest to win.

"Alright, how much longer are you going to chat?"

"Indeed. If we're dueling, then let's duel."

Tiancheng Guang raised an eyebrow, turned around, and reinserted his deck into his duel disk.

"Yes! That's the spirit!" Gloria grinned, excitedly raising her duel disk.

"Before we begin, let's clarify the rules," Grace extended her left arm, gently lowering it as she displayed her duel disk before her.

Each of their duel disks had their own style: Gloria's was the common "Sword" type of the Fusion Army, while Grace's was a shield-type duel disk.

"In tag team duels, each team shares the same field and graveyard. Battle phase begins in the second turn. When switching duelists, the other player cannot use cards in hand or activate face-down cards. As for life points—it's 8000. Any objections?"

Both sides nodded.

"Then—"

This was now the mainstream "tag" rule in this world since its connection to the Spirit World.

"Duel!" 4.

Taylor Sisters, LP: 8000.

Tiancheng Guang & Wan Wan Zhangmu Lei Long, LP: 8000.

"I'll go first," Gloria Taylor drew a card, then stepped forward, dramatically revealing a card from her hand, "When you have no cards on your field, you can activate this card!"

"I activate the Continuous Magic Card—"

"Slow Life."

The card art depicted a soldier lounging casually on a chair, ignoring his superior.

Gloria smirked and said, "This card's effect: as long as it remains on the field, both players receive the following effect:"

"During the turn you perform a Normal Summon, you cannot perform a Special Summon."

Grace elegantly added, "And vice versa."

Meaning: during the turn you perform a Special Summon, you cannot perform a Normal Summon!

"Huh!?"

"What a weird effect."

Some onlooker students froze.

To be honest, duels in this world have always followed the principle: "My card, you don't know it? That's your problem." Actively explaining card effects was usually uncommon.

"Next—" Gloria pulled a card with her index and middle fingers, while her middle and ring fingers simultaneously held two other cards in her hand, "Activate Magic Card—Fusion!"

Straight to the point.

"Fusion summon the Amazon Queen and the Amazon Swordsman!"

"Queen of the Dense Forest, absorb the strength of the valiant swordsman, and build an empire that rules all!"

She spread her arms wide, clenched her hands into claws as if embracing light; her golden hair stirred without wind as she called out the name of her Wangpai.

"Fusion Summon!"

"Level 8, Amazon Empress!"

As she shouted, a white-haired woman wearing a skull crown and a red cloak appeared on the field, wielding a great sword. Her body was powerfully built, her figure wildly disproportionate, drawing gasps from many male onlookers.

Amazon Empress, Level 8, Earth Attribute, Warrior Type, ATK 2800.

Sanze Sanze Dadi, seeing this monster, felt momentarily dazed.

"Place one card face-down, end turn!"

Gloria's dueling style was simple and direct, prioritizing efficiency—no flashy motions, she ended her turn immediately.

"Fusion already in the first turn?" Wan Wan Zhangmu and Tiancheng Guang exchanged glances, then nodded, drew a card, "Alright, my turn!"

He glanced at his hand.

Choosing Normal Summon or Special Summon was obvious—obviously choose Special Summon! And since Normal Summon was now forbidden, this card was useless…

"Activate Magic Card—Angel's Charity!"

So aggressive right off the bat.

Tiancheng Guang watched Wan Wan Zhangmu play this card immediately and felt a sudden sense of relief.

Could this be his easiest tag duel ever?

Chapter One… Timing is a bit late, held up by other matters, but I should still add an extra chapter as usual.
