Chapter 434: Fossils and Ancient Machinery

The duel officially began, Tiancheng Guang's first turn.

He glanced at the card in his hand.

"Defense Position Summon, Ancient Gear Hunting Hound."

"Awooo!" A mechanical dog appeared on the field.

Ancient Gear Hunting Hound, Level 3, Earth Attribute, Machine-Type, Defense: 1000.

"Eh—"

"Ancient Gear Hunting Hound..."

Many people saw this monster, and their expressions were a bit unpleasant.

After all, they also knew that the Fusion Army invaded the X Dimension, and the vanguard used the Ancient Gear Hunting Hound.

"Oh! Ancient Gear monster?" Jim saw this monster, was puzzled for a moment, and then suddenly realized, "First showing the diversity of fusion, then showing the concentration ability of fusion.

Now, you are starting to use Ancient Gear monsters?"

He gently flicked his cowboy hat with his finger.

"I heard that the acting principal of this school, Professor Dadesi, is an Ancient Gear master and one of the legendary duelists. You are still his most proud student, so that's how it is. If it were you, you would definitely want to use Ancient Gear cards in the finals, a duel that the whole world will watch."

Tiancheng Guang chuckled slightly without answering, but the meaning was also very simple.

You are right.

"Oh! So that's how it is. I thought Aguang still had more things to perform!"

"Big Brother, even if it's Student Tiancheng, it's impossible to show more things in a high-intensity duel..."

"Mamma mia... Student Guang..." And at the Duel Academy, Professor Dadesi, who was watching the broadcast with other teachers, was already biting his handkerchief, somewhat teary-eyed.

Tiancheng Guang did not respond to Jim but continued to state the effect.

"The monster effect of Ancient Gear Hunting Hound: when this card is summoned, inflict 600 damage to the opponent."

The Hunting Hound howled, and the sound wave impacted Jim, making him take half a step back.

Jim, LP: 4000 -> 3400.

"Then, the effect of Ancient Gear Hunting Hound: once per turn, activate during your Main Phase. Use monsters in your hand/field as fusion materials to Fusion Summon 1 Ancient Gear monster.

I fuse the Ancient Gear Hunting Hound on the field and the Ancient Gear Soldier in my hand—

Come, Ancient Gear Devil!"

Clang-clang-bang-bang, a mechanical devil holding multiple hand cannons slowly appeared on the field.

Ancient Gear Devil, Level 8, Earth Attribute, Machine-Type, Defense: 1800.

Jim saw this monster, his eyes narrowed slightly, seemingly a bit "surprised."

"The effect of Ancient Gear Devil: once per turn, activate during the Main Phase, inflict 1000 damage to the opponent!"

The cannon barrel slowly rotated, aiming at Jim, and several streams of light shot out, reducing Jim's Life Points again.

Jim, LP: 3400 -> 2400.

"Wow, a total of 1600 damage was dealt in the first turn."

"Not only that, besides dealing damage, he also defended!"

"A perfect turn."

Tiancheng Guang vaguely heard the audience's discussion.

It felt familiar, like what someone said when Jim was dueling with Lord Ba Wang.

"Cover one card, and end the turn."

"Truly a perfect first turn, defense, damage, covering, worthy of being the fusion duelist highly praised by Jūdai." Jim had a smile on his face. "However, since you don't want to show the new 【possibility】 of fusion, then let me perform!"

"My turn, draw card—" Jim looked at the card he drew.

Isn't it...

"Then, activate the Spell Card, Miracle Perforation!" Jim smiled and activated a card that sounded very ominous. "Send 1 Rock-Type monster Level 4 or lower from the deck to the Graveyard!

I send the Fire Rock Wall Dragon from the deck to the Graveyard!"

In front of him, a huge pickaxe appeared. He raised the pickaxe and slammed it against the rock in front of him, and subsequently, a fossil dinosaur floated directly in front of him.

"Just like Ancient Gear monsters are super machines manufactured by ancient civilizations, in the distant past, some powerful existences lived in the world. After the wear and tear of time, they became 【Fossils】!"

"And now, I am going to use 【Fossil】 for fusion!"

He swished out a card: "Spell Card, Fossil Fusion!"

"Banish the fusion materials determined by the 【Fossil】 Fusion Monster card from your/opponent's Graveyard, and Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from the Extra Deck!"

"Wow, it's actually both Graveyards?"

"Graveyard fusion, and both Graveyards?"

Boom-boom-boom—

On Jim's field, a huge fossil slate slowly stood up, and on Tiancheng Guang's field, a rusty mechanical soldier slowly stood up.

"I banish the Fire Rock Wall Dragon in my Graveyard and the Ancient Gear Soldier in your Graveyard, Fusion Summon!"

"New Generation Fossil Knight Skull Pawn!"

Boom-boom-boom, a fossil skeleton holding a spear appeared on the field with a swish.

New Generation Fossil Knight Skull Pawn, Level 4, Earth Attribute, Rock-Type, Attack: 2000.

"Fusion between fossils—"

"Fusion is truly colorful."

Tiancheng Guang looked at this monster, but his emotions didn't fluctuate much.

After all, he had long known that Jim's deck was an "evolved" new deck.

"Activate Spell Card, Time Stream!"

Jim raised a card, showing the power of the card: "This card can make New Generation monsters reverse-evolve toward the Mesozoic Era!"

"Ah?" "What does that mean?"

"Ha—" Tiancheng Guang smiled and explained, "Simply put, it's to make a Fusion Monster evolve into a higher-level Fusion Monster!"

"That's right!" Jim had a smile on his face. "Worthy of you, Tiancheng, you really knew. Then, the effect of Time Stream: target 1 【Fossil】 Fusion Monster on your field. Release that monster, and Special Summon 1 Fossil Fusion Monster from the Extra Deck whose original level is 2 stars higher than that monster, treating it as a Fossil Fusion!"

"Come, Mesozoic Fossil Motor Skull Travel Car!"

The armor on the skeleton knight slowly aged. As the bones on its body shattered, its skeleton combined into a strange-looking train.

Mesozoic Fossil Motor Skull Travel Car, Level 6, Earth Attribute, Rock-Type, Attack: 1700.

"It's not over yet. The effect of Skull Pawn in the Graveyard: banish it from the Graveyard, and add one 【Time Stream】 from the deck to your hand!" Jim confidently opened the Graveyard, took out the monster, and showed its effect.

"Wow—"

"Doesn't that mean?"

A group of people exclaimed.

Reverse evolution again!

Let the Mesozoic fossil monster evolve toward the more ancient past!

"That's right! Activate Spell Card, Time Stream! Let the Mesozoic Fossil Motor return to the Paleozoic Era and reverse-evolve!"

"Fossil Fusion Summon!"

"Ancient invention of the Paleozoic Era!"

"Skull Big Truck!!"

Bang—

The small travel car slowly aged, slowly grew larger, and a moment later, it was replaced by a strange-looking huge truck that seemed to be combined from dinosaur bones.

Paleozoic Fossil Motor Skull Big Truck, Level 8, Earth Attribute, Rock-Type, Attack: 2100.

Tiancheng Guang raised his eyebrows.

Don't say, this monster is really powerful in this environment.

But what made him find it more interesting was the card "Time Stream"—he himself of course had this card, but he remembered what happened in the original work.

In the original work, Jim's Time Stream required paying half of his Life Points to activate. After K-Company O-ized it later, it was strengthened to its current appearance.

"The effect of Skull Travel Car in the Graveyard: banish it from the Graveyard, target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field. Destroy that card!"

A fossil travel car buzzed and honked, rose from the Graveyard, drove past Tiancheng Guang, and incidentally took away his covered card.

"Metalfoes Fusion? I haven't seen you use it before." Jim looked at this card. Although he saw the card name, he didn't see the full effect of the card.

"Then, enter the Battle Phase. Skull Big Truck attacks you, Ancient Gear Devil!"

The Skull Big Truck buzzed and drove in front of the Ancient Gear Devil, opened its huge truck body, loaded the Devil inside, and then with a "bang," compressed it into powder.

"When Big Truck destroys an opponent's monster by battle, activate. Inflict 1000 damage to the opponent!"

Subsequently, the Big Truck turned around and swept toward Tiancheng Guang.

Tiancheng Guang LP: 4000 -> 3000.

"The effect of Ancient Gear Devil: when this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, activate. Special Summon 1 【Ancient Gear】 monster from the deck, ignoring the conditions."

"I Special Summon Ancient Gear Golem in Defense Position!"

Rumble—

The powder of the Devil turned into a signal. In the distance, an Ancient Gear Golem stretched out its mechanical arm, grabbed the Big Truck, and came directly to the field.

Ancient Gear Golem, Level 8, Earth Attribute, Machine-Type, Defense: 3000.

"Eh, why is it in Defense Position?"

"That's right, isn't the attack power of Ancient Gear Golem equivalent to Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

As if guessing the thoughts of his friends and the audience, Tiancheng Guang said: "Jim, your Skull Big Truck should have the effect of reducing the opponent's monster's defense value by its attack power, right?

The defense power of Ancient Gear Golem is 3000. If the attack power is reduced, the 3000 attack power would become 0."

"Ha, that's right." Jim nodded. "Worthy of Tiancheng Guang, who pursues the ultimate fusion—by the way, Big Truck can attack monsters 3 times per turn. If you were in Attack Position, you would have lost."

Saying this on his lips, Jim had to admit in his heart.

Tiancheng Guang is indeed an all-around fusion user, not only in his use and understanding of his own fusion, his understanding of dueling, but even his understanding of his opponent's dueling and fusion is very deep.

No wonder Jūdai would treat him as a close friend.

However, since he has come to this arena, his goal is the championship, and he will not fear the opponent's strength.

Rather, it is precisely because of this that he is even more excited.

"Cover one card, end the turn."
