Chapter 51: Qin Xiaoyu, You
Seeing Yun Shuqian’s puzzled expression, Qin Xiaoyu knew the new employees had kept his secret.
But now that Yun Shuqian had brought it up, he couldn’t think of a suitable excuse.
He thought for a moment.
Qin Xiaoyu could only joke, “Maybe they’re dazzled by my looks.”
Yun Shuqian: “...”
This remark left Yun Shuqian speechless—if Qin Xiaoyu was boasting, he was also stating a fact.
Women, much like men, are often even more drawn to appearances.
So.
When Qin Xiaoyu said he was handsome, Yun Shuqian had no intention of denying it.
But in her view, the students staying with him had little to do with his looks.
“Forget it, let’s not talk about this anymore—as long as you’re helped, that’s what matters.”
Seeing she couldn’t get much more out of Qin Xiaoyu, Yun Shuqian decided not to press the matter further.
As long as he wasn’t leading his students into some improper line of work, she could rest easy.
When she had time, she’d visit his game studio—then she’d know why those students stayed there.
With these thoughts, the two arrived at the hotpot restaurant on the third floor.
Yun Shuqian seemed to be a regular; a server smiled and greeted her, “Miss Yun, I knew something was up—you hadn’t shown up in so long! Turns out you’ve got a boyfriend!”
At these words, Yun Shuqian’s face instantly flushed red.
“You’re mistaken! This is my junior—not what you think!” As she spoke, she dared not look at Qin Xiaoyu, only stealing a quick sideways glance at him.
“Oh, I see.”
The server chuckled, clearly skeptical, but didn’t press further. She gestured them to a window seat. “Miss Yun, place your order. Just call out if you need anything.”
“Alright, go ahead and attend to other guests.”
The server nodded politely. Yun Shuqian handed the menu to Qin Xiaoyu and began recommending the restaurant’s signature dishes.
The prices were affordable, squarely in the range of everyday spending.
Qin Xiaoyu didn’t overthink it and ordered a few random items.
On weekends, the hotpot restaurant was crowded, so service was slow.
After waiting a while with no sign of food, Yun Shuqian pulled out her phone and said to Qin Xiaoyu:
“Looks like we’ll wait a while longer. Why don’t you download the game? I’ll go look for some chests—I’ll let you watch me play for a bit.”
Qin Xiaoyu had no objection to the suggestion.
Though he’d developed the game, he’d only tested it on PC; the mobile version had always been handled by Chen Wei and Old Cai.
He hadn’t installed it on his phone.
“Fine!”
After answering, Qin Xiaoyu pulled out his phone, connected to the restaurant’s Wi-Fi, and began downloading the game.
Meanwhile, Yun Shuqian, seated across from him, had already entered the continent of Timote.
After a casual glance at her screen, Qin Xiaoyu internally sighed in disbelief.
