Chapter 67

~3 min read 549 words

The train came to a stop, and after exchanging a few words with Zhang Feng, Qin Xiaoyu stepped off with the crowd.

Then.

At the square in front of the station, he flagged down a taxi and headed straight for the award collection address listed on the invitation.

“Sir, it’s hard to turn around up ahead—just stop here, okay? Your destination is right across the street!”

After about half an hour of driving, the driver pulled over and pointed to a building across the road, politely asking,

“Thanks, Master!”

Qin Xiaoyu turned his head, scanned the code to pay, thanked him, then opened the door and stepped out.

He walked forward about twenty meters.

Following the crowd, Qin Xiaoyu crossed another pedestrian walkway and arrived at the plaza in front of the building.

A massive GA logo was prominently displayed in the center of the building. After a quick glance, Qin Xiaoyu walked straight into the lobby.

Inside, there were several sofas and coffee tables arranged for guests, with a reception desk at the center.

Qin Xiaoyu approached the front desk, showed the receptionist the electronic invitation, and explained his purpose.

“Mr. Qin, please have a seat over there for a moment—I’ve already notified the GA agency’s contact person; they’re sending someone down now.”

The receptionist smiled politely at Qin Xiaoyu, then gestured toward the sofas in the lobby.

Hearing this, Qin Xiaoyu didn’t think much of it and turned to sit on one of the nearby sofas.

About ten minutes later,

two figures appeared in Qin Xiaoyu’s line of sight.

One was a middle-aged man in a crisp suit with gold-rimmed glasses; beside him walked a good-looking woman holding several forms.

The two emerged from the elevator, one behind the other.

The man with gold-rimmed glasses scanned the lobby, then headed directly toward Qin Xiaoyu’s position.

“You’re Mr. Qin Xiaoyu from the Original God team, right? I’m Liu Baihong, the GA agency’s representative for this month’s new game awards. This is my assistant—just call her Xiao Li.”

After sizing up Qin Xiaoyu, the middle-aged man with gold-rimmed glasses sat down across from him and introduced himself.

Hearing this, Qin Xiaoyu felt uneasy.

In his past life, he’d attended many award ceremonies—even major international ones—and the staff handling reception were always courteous.

Doesn’t this guy even know how to say “hello”?

“Yes, it’s me.”

Since the man showed no manners, Qin Xiaoyu had no reason to be polite either—he glanced at the two and replied calmly.

The middle-aged man, having confirmed Qin Xiaoyu’s identity, nodded silently.

He gestured to the woman beside him, who handed the forms to Qin Xiaoyu: “Mr. Qin, please fill out these forms first.”

Fill out forms?

Qin Xiaoyu was instantly confused. Normally, at award ceremonies, the organizers simply verified the attendee’s identity.

Though puzzled, he didn’t ask any questions.

This world’s gaming award ceremony differed from his past life’s Earthly ones—perhaps that wasn’t strange at all.

Thinking this, he casually picked up the forms Liu Baihong had handed him and began reading.

The first two were unremarkable.

They required basic game information and personal details of the award recipient.

But.

When Qin Xiaoyu saw the third form, his expression shifted involuntarily twice; then he looked up at Liu Baihong across from him and asked:
