Chapter 140: Luffy: Help me Nami, I've been poisoned!

Then, the new function of the Contract was unlocked.

The fruit vanished, and the Contract text that should have appeared was projected directly into Caomao Lufei's head in the form of a light screen.

【Contract Task (1/5)】

Task Content: Defeat Buggy Pirates crew members (0/8)

Task Reward: Fist Qi Lv. 1 (White)

Nearby,

Nami's expression changed slightly after hearing the condition that required killing Caomao Lufei.

Although she had been stealing Pirate treasures all these years, she had never killed anyone, and her go-to weapon was a wooden staff, at most knocking people unconscious.

What an evil Pirate.

"Afraid to make a move?"

Buggy revealed a scrutinizing gaze and asked, "Are you trying to deceive the great Captain Buggy?"

His mood was very bad right now; if he were refused, he would throw both of them into the sea to feed the sharks.

"How could that be?"

Nami revealed a harmless smile, looking at the Buggy Ball stuffed into the cannon barrel by the Pirates, as well as the tinder handed to her to light the fuse.

"Then hurry up and do it!"

"Understood, Captain Buggy..."

As the words fell,

Nami drew the short staff from her waist and directly knocked down the two nearest Pirate lackeys. She said helplessly, "Sure enough, I still couldn't bring myself to do it."

"Caomao idiot, it's all because you're too stupid; otherwise, I wouldn't need to fight and could just steal the treasure directly."

She complained in her mouth,

but she felt not the slightest fear toward the Pirates gradually surrounding her, nor Buggy's gloomy expression.

"I knew it, you must be my navigator!"

Caomao Lufei revealed a big laughing face, then said dejectedly, "Nami, that apple just now was poisonous, I think I've been poisoned..."

He waved his hands repeatedly, wanting to dispel the light screen text within his line of sight.

Buggy roared, "Kill them for me!"

The Pirates swarmed up.

A woman holding a short staff with thin arms and legs posed no threat at all; cruel smiles appeared on their faces.

Bang.

Nami swung the short staff, sweeping in a circle.

The tail of the short staff dragged out a cluster of ice-blue light arcs, and the originally bare head of the short staff also sprouted a cluster of bristles like a broom.

【Ice Powder】: Sprinkle ice Magic powder onto a broom weapon; enemies hit have a probability of falling into a Frozen State.

Originating from a group of Magic Scholars in Mo Jie who were extremely passionate about Magic and science.

In the neglected, famine-stricken, and chaotic Mo Jie, they researched brilliant and gorgeous Magic technology and alchemical creations.

"What's going on?"

The Pirates' bodies went stiff, as if they had been soaked in freezing seawater on a snowy day; one Pirate was even visibly frozen into an ice block.

This Weirdness state made them all unconsciously look toward their Captain.

"Just like me, a Devil Fruit user?"

Buggy's expression turned grave; such a weird phenomenon could only be explained by a Devil Fruit.

He was once a crew member of the Pirate King, so his experience naturally couldn't be compared to these foolish East Blue Pirates; even the weakest Devil Fruit user had to be dealt with carefully.

"No, I've never eaten that kind of thing."

Nami swung the short staff, striking the cage locking up Luffy.

A layer of ice adhered to the cage, making the hard rock brittle.

What gave Nami power was not a Devil Fruit, but the more mysterious Samsara Game.

Because there were relatively few players in the Pirate World and they hadn't been noticed by major forces yet, they weren't gathered together to hunt Pollution Sources, and most players were still in a primitive state of solo hunting.

Nami's current stats: Level 10, Magic Scholar.

She didn't know exactly how strong she was, but dealing with these ordinary Pirates wasn't difficult; only Captain Buggy required cautious treatment.

Bang.

Seeing this, Luffy shook his arm and threw a punch; after his rubber-like arm shattered the rock at the top of the cage, it stretched out two meters before snapping back.

"An... another Devil Fruit user?"

The previously fearless Pirates, upon discovering that both were Devil Fruit users, were so scared their eyeballs almost popped out.

The corners of Buggy's painted mouth curled up, and he smiled cruelly, "Even among ability users, there are strong and weak ones. I don't believe two brats from the East Blue can contend with the great Captain Buggy. Stop them for me!"

Hearing this, the Pirates suppressed their fear, raised their weapons, and charged toward Caomao Lufei, who looked sillier and easier to deal with.

Xiangjiao Jiguangqiang!

Luffy swung his fists continuously, his rubber-like arms stretching rapidly, knocking all the approaching Pirates flying.

【Task complete, rewards have been issued】

Text floated before his eyes.

"Such a strange hallucination, the fruit is poisonous!"

Luffy shook his head, suddenly feeling a complex set of memories flooding in.

It scared him into collapsing on the ground, clutching his own neck, and shouting, "Nami, save me quickly, the Poison has reached my brain!"

"Idiot."

Nami leaned in, found no signs of him being poisoned, and smashed a fist onto his head.

Can a guy this unreliable really be a Pirate?

Luffy climbed up feeling aggrieved, rubbed the spot where Nami had hit him, and explained, "But, something really appeared inside my head."

【Fist Qi Lv. 1 (White)】: Consume energy to release Fist Qi outward, increasing the attack power and attack range of the fist.

Originating from a group of clerics who abandoned the cultivation of Holy Light power to instead train their physiques and fist techniques, solely to thoroughly dispel the Xue Zhi Zhuzhou and eliminate the Imposters.

After hearing Luffy's explanation,

Nami felt inexplicably familiar with it, and upon seeing a faint, colorless aura of energy light up on his fist, she immediately realized what it was.

Isn't this just a skill from the Samsara Game?

Her gaze fell on the fruits scattered on the ground, and she thought to herself, "Contract? People who complete all Contract Tasks can become players."

"You aren't poisoned; I know what's going on. I'll explain it to you in detail once we leave here."

"Leave?"

Buggy had a ferocious grin on his face, his hands hidden behind his cape having long since disappeared.

Just at this moment,

A Swordsman with hair like green seaweed came sprinting over, cursing loudly, "You bastard Luffy, do you know how hard I've been looking for you?"

Luffy said in surprise, "It's Zoro!"

Seeing the rescuer arrive, two Pirates hurriedly moved to intercept him, but were easily defeated by two Jiangji unleashed by Zoro as he drew his blade from its sheath.

Puchi.

Seeing this, Buggy's detached hands changed direction and, while Zoro's attention was drawn by the Pirate subordinates, quietly stabbed down.

Zoro's body stiffened, and he looked down at his pierced side.

He never imagined that anyone's hands could move independently.

"Zoro!"

Seeing Zoro injured, Luffy angrily unleashed his rubber fists toward the surrounding Pirates.

The Xiangjiao Jiguangqiang, wrapped in Fist Qi, seemed as if he were wearing a pair of gauntlets, displaying even greater attack power and instantly knocking down a large group of Pirates.

【Task completed, rewards have been issued】

This time, the task reward was the exclusive skill experience and proficiency for 【Fist Qi】.

Luffy looked at his fist in confusion, watching the fist aura that had grown slightly larger, and only felt that he was poisoned even deeper.

"Let's leave first, take that fruit."

Nami glanced at the injured Zoro; they needed to find a place to treat his wounds first.

She pointed at the Contract Fruit.

Luffy understood, and his rubber arm stretched out to grab it, but he was blocked by Buggy's detached palm, managing to grab only one fruit.

"Tell me, what exactly is going on?"

After finding a pharmacy and Nami skillfully bandaging Zoro, she asked Luffy about the situation regarding the Contract Fruit.
