Chapter 226: The Khal and the Dragon Queen Reborn, the Wolf King and the Dragon Mother Form an Alliance

~23 min read 4,560 words

The fleet of the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys, sailed into Duskendale.

Ser Jorah Mormont and the commander of the Stormcrows, Daario Naharis, stood guard on Daenerys's left and right; Daenerys held an urn in her arms, which contained the ashes of her second brother, Viserys, and her husband, Khal Drogo.

Daenerys felt a gentle breeze brush against her cheeks.

"This is the Westeros that Viserys longed for his entire life, our land, the Seven Kingdoms; Viserys spent his whole life wandering, and today, I can finally bring him home."

"And my husband, Khal Drogo; if they were alive, they would surely lead the Dothraki cavalry to sweep across Westeros."

Ser Jorah Mormont felt somewhat uneasy.

"The necromancer in King's Landing can use urns to resurrect the dead and create wights. If the necromancer resurrects Viserys and Khal Drogo, it will be troublesome."

Daenerys hugged the urn tightly, "I will never let the necromancer disturb the rest of Khal Drogo and Viserys."

Yet, a part of her heart longed to see Khal Drogo and Viserys again. If they became undead...

The magic dragons Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal flew over the walls of Duskendale.

Duskendale had originally belonged to Stannis, but now it had become a land without a master. A few days ago, Duskendale was attacked by the frost dragon Vermithor, and the commander of Duskendale, Roland Storm, took the few remaining garrison troops and residents in the city and voluntarily fled by ship to Dragonstone; therefore, Daenerys's army easily occupied this empty town.

Daenerys's army included the ten-thousand-strong Unsullied legion, thousands of Dothraki cavalry and tribesmen, tens of thousands of the Brotherhood Without Banners, the Beast-Face Army composed of thousands of Meereenese, over ten thousand Golden Company mercenaries, and more than a thousand members of the Stormcrows and Second Sons.

When they set out from Volantis, Daenerys's subordinates had been arguing endlessly about the landing site.

Prince Quentyn of Dorne requested that Daenerys land in Dorne, because Dorne was the perfect base; after Daenerys's army arrived in Dorne, they could join forces with the Dornish and launch a direct northern expedition.

Jon Connington had once served as Hand of the King to King Aerys and was a close friend of Prince Rhaegar; to win over Jon Connington, Daenerys appointed him as her Hand of the King. Jon Connington strongly suggested occupying Tarth, Estermont, and Griffin's Roost in the Stormlands, waiting for an opportunity to seize Storm's End as a base.

However, this proposal from the Griffin Hand was opposed by Quaithe, who wore a red lacquer mask, and the Red Priest "Black Flame" Moqorro, on the grounds that these territories were all in the hands of Stannis.

Quaithe said: "Stannis, like the Mother of Dragons, is a servant of the Lord of Light; furthermore, Stannis is currently engaged in battle with the undead army of King's Landing, and attacking human allies will invite the hostility of the people of Westeros."

The dark-skinned Summer Islander "Black Flame" Moqorro added: "Quaithe and I both saw it in the holy fire; Stannis has summoned a Balrog, and even if we could take the coastal islands and castles of the Stormlands, we would absolutely be unable to take Storm's End."

Young Griff suggested directly capturing Dragonstone.

"We possess magic dragons; as long as we take Dragonstone, we can directly recreate the journey of Aegon the Conqueror when he conquered Westeros."

Prince Aegon's opinion exposed his ignorance, and even Varys opposed him.

"Your Highness, the situation in Westeros today is vastly different from three hundred years ago; to say nothing else, three hundred years ago, the mouth of the Blackwater River was just a small fishing village, but today it stands as the largest city in Westeros. Worst of all, King's Landing is now a city of the undead, and the Corpse Queen Serxi has more frost dragons than we have magic dragons."

"When Aegon conquered, Aegon the Conqueror possessed the only three magic dragons in the world; today, the Wolf King Eddard has dragons, giant eagles, and griffins, the Corpse Queen Serxi possesses frost dragons, giant bats, and an undead army, and Stannis possesses a Balrog."

After the voyage, Daenerys became increasingly certain that Prince Aegon was an impostor; Daenerys's magic dragons did not like Aegon, and on several occasions, the magic dragons set fire to Prince Aegon's cloak on the ship, and Prince Aegon was so terrified he scrambled away in tears.

Prince Aegon was not a True Dragon at all; if he were a True Dragon, he should be more favored by the magic dragons.

During the voyage, on the ship "Balerion the Conqueror," Prince Aegon and Prince Quentyn of Dorne competed to pursue Daenerys.

Both the Young Griff and the Dornish prince were older than Daenerys, yet Daenerys had been the wife of a Khal, a widow; she had led a broken Dothraki tribe across the Red Waste, won the Unsullied through schemes and tricks, and left a trail of smoking cities in Slaver's Bay.

Compared to Daenerys, Prince Aegon and Prince Quentyn were both too green; furthermore, Daenerys knew that Prince Quentyn's pursuit of her was out of duty rather than desire, and Prince Aegon's pursuit was more like something instructed by Varys and Illyrio.

When Daenerys's fleet arrived at Lys, Prince Quentyn of Dorne took his knights and nobles to bid farewell to Daenerys; they took a ship from Lys back to Dorne. At this time, Prince Quentyn had already returned to Sunspear to prepare for the expedition with Prince Doran.

When they first met in Volantis, Prince Aegon had the support of the Golden Company; now, Daenerys had easily won the support of the Golden Company. After all, Daenerys possessed magic dragons and was very generous to mercenaries.

Many of the soldiers and commanders of the Golden Company were descendants of Westerosi nobles who had fled across the Narrow Sea; therefore, the Golden Company was different from ordinary mercenary groups. They longed to follow a True Dragon to retake Westeros and reclaim the lands and castles that had once belonged to their ancestors.

On the ship, the commanders of the Golden Company spent their days with Daenerys and Prince Aegon, and they soon discovered that Prince Aegon only knew how to boast, while Queen Daenerys, who had conquered Slaver's Bay and liberated countless slaves, clearly had more of a royal demeanor.

The Stormlands, Dorne, and the Crownlands were all potential landing sites; in the end, after weighing the options, Daenerys chose Duskendale as the landing place for her army.

Duskendale was the largest town in the Crownlands, and according to Varys's intelligence, Duskendale's defenses were empty, and Stannis had no intention of holding this coastal town to the death.

Daenerys stationed her troops in Duskendale, which allowed her to directly launch an expedition against the tyrant Joffrey Baratheon and the Corpse Queen Serxi, who occupied the Iron Throne; there was also another important reason: Prince Rhaegar was in the vicinity of Duskendale.

Even though the legendary Prince Rhaegar had now become a Death Knight, Daenerys still very much wanted to see Prince Rhaegar, to see this brother she had never met.

After the army arrived in Duskendale, the Griffin Hand, Jon Connington, immediately arranged for the Golden Company soldiers to occupy the city walls and repair the damaged gates.

Daenerys's bloodriders, Aggo, Jhogo, and Rakharo, drove all the warhorses into the stables; the soldiers of the Brotherhood Without Banners moved all the grain and supplies into the civilian houses in the town, and Daenerys, accompanied by Quaithe, Ser Jorah, Daario, and others, moved into the Brown Fort.

Returning to Westeros, Ser Jorah was very excited, and he immediately began telling Daenerys the history of Duskendale.

"The current lord of Duskendale is Lord Ryker, but for thousands of years in the past, the lords here were always the Darklyn family, until more than twenty years ago, when Lord Denys Darklyn launched the Defiance of Duskendale and imprisoned King Aerys in this castle; the Darklyn family was thus wiped out, and the territory and castle were transferred to the Ryker family."

Daenerys did not expect that the first castle she stayed in upon returning to Westeros was the one that had once imprisoned her father.

"Why did Lord Darklyn launch the rebellion?"

Ser Jorah said: "It is said that at the time, Lord Darklyn hoped the Iron Throne would reduce the taxes of Duskendale and recognize the town's charter, allowing Duskendale to gain more autonomy so it could compete with King's Landing. King Aerys rejected Lord Darklyn's request, and Duskendale refused to pay taxes."

"King Aerys was furious and arrived at Duskendale with one Kingsguard and a small guard to resolve the problem personally, but he was imprisoned by Lord Darklyn. The Hand of the King at the time, Duke Tywin, immediately gathered an army and surrounded Duskendale; Lord Darklyn threatened that if the kingdom's army attacked Duskendale, he would immediately execute the King."

"If it hadn't been for Ser Barristan the Bold, who went in alone and rescued King Aerys, King Aerys would likely have died in this very castle beneath our feet."

Subsequently, Daenerys held a war council at the Brown Fort.

Ser Jorah spread out a map, and Varys said: "The Wolf King Eddard is stationed at Harrenhal; it is estimated that the force at Harrenhal exceeds fifty thousand men. In addition, Maidenpool, Harroway's Town, and Stoneway also have heavy troops guarding them."

"According to intelligence, the Wolf King Eddard invented cannons, and the cannons' power is astonishing. The little toys the Alchemists made for fireworks became weapons of mass destruction in the hands of the Wolf King Eddard. It is said that by relying on magic dragons and cannons, Harrenhal repelled the attack of the frost dragons."

"The Wolf King Eddard possesses the North, the Westerlands, the Riverlands, and the Vale; without a doubt, he is the most powerful existence in Westeros."

"The city of the undead, King's Landing, has resurrected the frost dragon Meraxes; the strength of the Corpse Queen Serxi is incalculable. As long as there are corpses and graves, the necromancer can always create the undead."

The Griffin Hand, Jon Connington, frowned and said: "Your Majesty, Duskendale could be attacked by the undead at any time, and Stannis might attack us from the sea. If the Wolf King Eddard sends a large army to attack, how can Duskendale's walls withstand the Wolf King's magic dragons, giants, and cannons?"

Daenerys said calmly: "We have magic dragons; the magic dragons are our walls."

Ser Jorah said: "It is a pity that the Wolf King Eddard also has magic dragons, and the number of frost dragons in Serxi's hands is increasing."

Varys said: "Your Majesty, Stannis and the Wolf King Eddard are at least living men fighting for humanity; Serxi and the Lannisters have already fallen to the point of siding with the undead."

"Duskendale is very close to Harrenhal, and the Wolf King Eddard is at Harrenhal. He is a man of honor; why don't we send an envoy to form an alliance with the Wolf King Eddard to deal with the undead of King's Landing together?"

Daenerys said angrily: "Eddard is nothing but a dog of the Usurper; how could a True Dragon form an alliance with a dog of the Usurper?"

Varys pondered for a long time, "Your Majesty, in fact, the Wolf King Eddard's rebellion alongside Robert Baratheon had its reasons. Back then, in the Throne Room, King Aerys ordered the pyromancers to roast Eddard's father, Duke Rickard, with small flames, and forced Eddard's eldest brother, Brandon, to watch the whole process."

"At the time, Brandon had a special device around his neck; to save his father, he had to move forward, and with every step he moved, his neck would be tightened further. In the end, Brandon strangled himself to death, and he still couldn't save his father."

Daenerys was shocked, and she pondered for a long time, "Could this be a lie fabricated by the Usurper to slander my father?"

Varys sighed, "I am sorry, Your Majesty; I was the Master of Whisperers at the time, and I witnessed the whole process from the shadows. It is true."

Daenerys looked toward Ser Jorah, and Ser Jorah nodded, "Your Grace, King Aerys did indeed cruelly execute Lord Rickard and Brandon back then; this matter is known to every woman and child in Westeros."

All along, Daenerys had firmly believed that the various atrocities of the Mad King Aerys were lies fabricated by the Usurper to legitimize his rebellion; however, after arriving in Westeros, Daenerys had to face the bloody truth: the Mad King Aerys had indeed committed many horrifying evil deeds.

The Griffin Hand, Jon Connington, said, "Your Grace, King Aerys became increasingly mad in the final years of his reign. If he had died in Duskendale back then and Prince Rhaegar had been crowned king, the history of Westeros would have been rewritten."

"Now, Prince Rhaegar has been resurrected by an undead sorcerer as a Death Knight. All of this was caused by the Lannisters and the Corpse Queen Serxi. The Lannisters are still desecrating the Seven in King's Landing and harming the followers of the Seven; it is a crime that enrages both men and gods."

"Since we chose to land at Duskendale, we should prioritize attacking King's Landing. I hate the Wolf King Eddard, and I hate Stannis; they are both lackeys of the Usurper. However, on the path of conquest, one must learn to compromise with enemies; forming an alliance with the Wolf King Eddard and Stannis to defeat the undead is the best option."

Daenerys pondered for a long while, "Allow me to consider this for a few days. If that Wolf King Eddard is truly as righteous and honorable as you say, he should have taken the initiative to send an envoy to find me."

In the farmland near Harrenhal, the Wolf King Eddard and Ser Barristan rode on the backs of Magic Dragons and flying wolves, bathing the cursed land in dragonfire; the land was purified and regained its vitality.

Land swept by the frost of the ice dragons would be cursed, appearing in a sickly black color, much like Grey Scale; such land would grow nothing. After many farmlands in the Riverlands were attacked by ice dragons, the crops failed, the forests withered, and the land was destroyed. Fortunately, the dragonfire of the Magic Dragons could purify the cursed land.

Purifying the land made the Element Power of the Wolf King Eddard increasingly formidable, which also allowed the Wolf King Eddard to control more powerful creatures.

The Giant Eagle Prince Michu arrived at the side of the Wolf King Eddard riding a giant eagle.

"Father of Life, the army of the Mother of Dragons Daenerys has already landed at Duskendale."

The Wolf King Eddard said, "Very good, I wish to form an alliance with Daenerys. I will ride a giant dragon to meet Queen Daenerys. Ser Barristan, you come with me."

Barristan frowned.

"Queen Daenerys has tens of thousands of troops under her command, and she also has three Magic Dragons that are much larger than the flying wolves. If only you and I go, will it be too dangerous?"

The Wolf King Eddard said, "With the protection of the Magic Dragons, giant eagles, and griffins, we are very safe."

Ser Barristan was a legendary member of the Kingsguard; he was very familiar with the Mad King Aerys and Prince Rhaegar. By bringing Ser Barristan along, Eddard could bridge the distance with Daenerys.

Daenerys had finally arrived; this was the wife Eddard had prepared for Jon Snow. Once the marriage alliance was achieved, Daenerys's Magic Dragons would become Eddard's Magic Dragons.

King's Landing, Throne Room.

Serxi was furious, sitting on the Iron Throne, while Lord Tywin, Ser Kevan, Jaime, Gillian, and others sat at the long table below the Iron Throne.

Every time the Small Council was held, Tywin, Jaime, and the others had to look up at Serxi on the Iron Throne.

Lord Tywin: "Daenerys has brought her army."

"One day you shall be queen." The toad witch whispered in Serxi's ear. Until the arrival of another woman, Serxi felt as if she had returned to the toad witch's tent back then, smelling the scent of the incense burner.

"Younger than you, more beautiful than you; she will take everything you love."

Without a doubt, the woman in the prophecy was Daenerys.

Cold sweat beaded on Serxi's forehead, "Daenerys's army went to Duskendale. I was counting on Daenerys attacking Stannis's Storm's End, Dragonstone, and the like, but she chose Duskendale, which clearly means she intends to attack King's Landing directly."

Lord Tywin cleared his throat, "We have the ice dragon Meraxes in our hands. Daenerys's Magic Dragons can hardly contend with Meraxes. If we add the Dragon of Bronze, Dreamfyre, and other ice dragons, our victory is assured."

Jaime said, "Serxi, you can directly send Prince Rhaegar to lead the undead army to attack Duskendale. Seeing his brother Prince Rhaegar leading the troops into battle, the Dragon Queen might just be scared to tears."

Serxi said gloomily, "Prince Rhaegar can hardly contend with the Magic Dragons. Perhaps we should let Prince Rhaegar ride an ice dragon; that way, the combat power of the ice dragon should increase."

Gillian smiled, "Your Grace, directly sending the undead sorcerer Ogbeta will surely be able to kill Daenerys's Magic Dragons."

The undead sorcerer Ogbeta walked in.

"Daenerys's Magic Dragons will sooner or later belong to the undead. Your Grace need not worry; I will cast a curse upon Duskendale to create some surprises for Daenerys."

Serxi said evilly, "What kind of surprise exactly? It wouldn't be arranging for Prince Rhaegar to assassinate her, would it?"

In the eyes of the undead sorcerer Ogbeta, skulls flickered.

"I will directly resurrect Khal Drogo and Prince Viserys to create a surprise for the Dragon Queen!"

At night, the urns of Khal Drogo and Viserys were placed in the cellar; several bats flew into the cellar and shattered it.

Sacrificing living people every day to please the Great Other made the magic power of the undead sorcerer Ogbeta increasingly powerful. On the Dark Altar in King's Landing, he could cast spells from a distance, waving his Skull Scepter under the moonlight.

"Resurrect! Khal Drogo, the Horse King! Resurrect! Prince Viserys!"

In the dungeon of Duskendale, a phantom of a skull appeared over the ashes; Khal Drogo rode on a gray warhorse, holding an Arakh.

Prince Viserys had molten gold flowing over his forehead; he held a Skull Sword and rode on a white warhorse.

Both of their mounts were dead horses, emitting the stench of decay and death.

Daenerys was taking a bath in her room when she suddenly felt the temperature plummet and the bathwater began to freeze. Daenerys was shocked, immediately stood up to dry herself, and draped a silk robe over her shoulders.

Sounds of fighting came from the courtyard, and Ser Jorah burst in, "Your Grace, there is danger!"

Daenerys frowned, "Could there be assassins?"

Ser Jorah said in horror, "Khal Drogo and Prince Viserys have been resurrected!"

In the courtyard, Khal Drogo spurred his horse to hack a Brotherhood Without Banners soldier to death, then hacked an Unsullied soldier to death.

Prince Viserys, wearing a molten gold crown, brandished his Skull Sword and stabbed a Golden Company pikeman to death.

Subsequently, Daenerys met the gaze of Khal Drogo.

Khal Drogo's bronze-colored skin, long black hair draped over his waist, black pupils, almond-shaped eyes—everything was so familiar, only Khal Drogo was emitting the stench of death all over his body.

Daenerys's marriage to Khal Drogo had not been voluntary, but affection had grown over time. After Khal Drogo died, Daenerys had missed his sturdy body day and night.

Khal Drogo said, "Woman, wife, we swore to grow old together and never be parted; come back into my arms quickly!"

Daenerys was almost moved and couldn't help but step forward, but Ser Jorah pulled her back.

"Your Grace, Khal Drogo is an undead! Do not be deceived!"

Daenerys finally came to her senses and looked at Khal Drogo helplessly, "You are already dead; it is Dark Magic that resurrected you."

And there was her brother, the sleeping dragon Prince Viserys; he had been crowned with molten gold, and now, molten gold still flowed over his silver-white hair, only now, Viserys was still filled with rage.

Prince Viserys said indignantly, "Little whore of the Horse King, you have completely awakened the dragon's fury. It should have been me leading the army to conquer Westeros, yet you have taken my place!"

Prince Viserys spurred his horse to charge at Daenerys. At this moment, the Magic Dragon Drogon appeared and spat a mouthful of dragonfire at Viserys. Prince Viserys and Khal Drogo could only dodge and flee into the night.

That night, Quaithe and the Black Flame Moqorro lit the Night Fire on the city walls of Duskendale and guaranteed that the undead sorcerer's magic could no longer attack Duskendale.

Quaithe, wearing a Red Lacquer Mask, said apologetically, "The power of the Great Other in King's Landing is too strong, and this place is too close to King's Landing. Worse still, Duskendale does not possess magic power like Storm's End or the Isle of Faces near Harrenhal. It is also our fault for being negligent, which allowed the undead sorcerer to take advantage of the situation."

Daenerys said, "It is not your fault; the power of evil is so strong, and you have only just arrived in this strange land."

"The Undead Queen Serxi has resurrected Prince Rhaegar, Khal Drogo, and Viserys. That damned Serxi and the Lannisters have completely awakened the dragon's fury; I must make them pay the price!"

Varys said: "Your Majesty, surely you have also experienced the evil of the Undead; their goal is to slaughter all the living, then resurrect them as Dark Servants."

"Form an alliance with the Wolf King Eddard and Stannis! Only when humanity unites can we win this Great War of life and death, of Fire and Ice. Compared to the ultimate battle for life, the game of thrones is nothing but a child's game."

Black Flame Moqorro said: "According to the scenes revealed by the holy fire, the Night King's army beyond the Wall is stirring. If the humans of Westeros cannot unite, it will be difficult to win the war against the Undead. When winter comes, the fire of life in the mortal world will be extinguished entirely."

Daenerys sighed, "You are right. I am willing to discuss an alliance with the Wolf King Eddard and Stannis."

The next day, Daenerys prepared to send envoys, and the Wolf King Eddard appeared in the sky above Duskendale, riding a Magic Dragon flying wolf and accompanied by a giant eagle and a Griffin.

Daenerys, accompanied by Ser Jorah, Daario Naharis, Grey Worm, Jon Connington, Prince Aegon, and others, received the Wolf King Eddard on the city walls.

The little scribe Missandei introduced: "Standing before you is the Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm, Stormborn, Mother of Dragons, The Unburnt, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, Queen of Meereen, Mhysa, Daenerys Targaryen!"

Ser Barristan introduced: "This is the Lord Protector of the North, the Vale, the Riverlands, and the Westerlands, Lord of Winterfell, Father of Life, the Wolf King Eddard!"

Daenerys said: "Wolf King Eddard, you occupy half of the Seven Kingdoms. Judging by our titles, we have a conflict!"

Eddard smiled: "Titles are merely things to fool people. Queen Daenerys, surely you are also very clear that humanity's greatest threat is the Undead. The Undead are resurrecting more of the Targaryen family's Magic Dragons and transforming them into frost dragons."

At this moment, Eddard noticed Ser Jorah. Years ago, Ser Jorah had captured several poachers and sold them to slave traders; his lands and title were ruthlessly stripped by Eddard, forcing Ser Jorah into exile overseas. Of course, that was all before the Wolf King Eddard had transmigrated.

"Ser Jorah, I announce the pardon of your crimes. Your father, the Old Bear Mormont, is the Commander of the Night's Watch; he is my close friend and a hero of the Seven Kingdoms. The Old Bear has always hoped for your return home."

Ser Jorah was moved and said: "I miss my father, but I must serve Queen Daenerys now and cannot return home for the time being."

Eddard said: "Your Majesty, let us defeat the Corpse Queen Serxi in King's Landing together, purge the Undead, and rescue your brother, Rhaegar Targaryen, from his curse."

Daenerys said helplessly: "It is not just my brother. Last night, my husband Drogo and my second brother Viserys also turned into Dark Servants."

Eddard said: "This only further proves that we should unite."

The Griffin Hand Jon Connington said: "Wolf King Eddard, if you wish to form an alliance with Her Majesty the Queen, you need only kneel and submit."

Eddard said disdainfully: "Must we play these word games? If I kneel to Daenerys, then my subordinates from the Westerlands, Riverlands, the Vale, and the North will all be dissatisfied."

Prince Aegon said angrily: "If you refuse to submit, you are admitting you are a rebel. Aunt, Eddard is a lackey of the Usurper; keeping such a person is a disaster, he should be executed at once!"

Eddard said sternly: "Even the Magic Dragons kneel to me; I will not kneel to anyone."

At this moment, Daenerys's three Magic Dragons, Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal, flew into the air. The Wolf King Eddard controlled the Magic Dragons with his mind. With the help of the Old Gods, the Wolf King Eddard's Mind Control grew increasingly powerful. Under Eddard's control, the three Magic Dragons descended in unison and knelt before Eddard.

Daenerys, Prince Aegon, Jon Connington, Ser Jorah, and the others were shocked beyond measure.

Eddard said: "Your Majesty, do you still have doubts?"

Daenerys sighed in admiration: "You are indeed extraordinary. I have only one question: if, back then, my father, King Aerys, cruelly murdered your father and eldest brother, did that really happen, or was it fabricated by the Usurper?"

The one who answered was Ser Barristan.

"Your Majesty, King Aerys did indeed cruelly murder Lord Rickard and Brandon. During the Defiance of Duskendale, I once single-handedly rescued the Mad King Aerys from Duskendale. Many Knights would consider this a heroic deed, but more people would say it was my greatest failure."

"Because if the Mad King had died in Duskendale back then and Prince Rhaegar had ascended the throne, there would have been no Usurper's War, no War of the Five Kings, and the Seven Kingdoms would have had far fewer wars and corpses."

Daenerys looked at Eddard, "Even if we have a blood feud, you are still willing to form an alliance with the Targaryens?"

Eddard said: "Yes, for the sake of all living things!"

Daenerys pondered for a long while, then extended her hands.

"For the sake of all living things, I am willing to form an alliance with the Direwolf!"
