However, for every Imperium defeated with this Conquest Title, it would improve so long as the Titles were of equivalent Tiers.

That was to say that every F-tier Imperium across the universe saw Sylas as meat on a chopping block.

As powerful as an unevolved Primus Imperial Conquest Title was, how powerful would it be if you could ignore three Tiers of suppression? If you could form a Will two Tiers above your own? How powerful would an F-tier with D-Grade Genes be? What about an even more ridiculous F-tier with a C-Grade Class?

Did these people even exist? It was hard to tell. But what was certain was that theoretically, if you killed enough Imperiums… There was no limit to how much the system would reward you.

Killing just a single Imperium more would allow Sylas to ignore the suppression of C-tier and double the other rewards.

If he could kill five, it would evolve again.

Ten, and it would evolve once more.

As though all of this wasn't tempting enough to place Sylas on the chopping block, there was still yet one more problem looming behind all of this… If an F-tier from a greater Sector came down to challenge Sylas and defeated him, Sylas would lose the Title, but the F-tier wouldn't necessarily gain it. The system wasn't stupid.

Instead, the process of defeating an Imperium came with other sorts of rewards, which was why the system gave a "warning" during its announcement.

—

【System-Wide Message】

【 has been Titled Primus Imperium of the Milky Way Sector. Undefeatable and untouchable, he stands unmatched within the. Such is the prestige of the Imperium. Doubt these words at your own peril】 —

However, the system was known as impotent for a reason, and there were certain rules that could always be bent. Just the same way Earth hadn't been nearly as well protected as it should have been, Sylas was more vulnerable now than it seemed.

If the F-tier that descended came from not just a great Sector, but a true overlord Sector that stood even beyond the Demi-Gods… their Clan just might have a way to trick the system into transferring the Title over to their chosen.

And in that case, Sylas wouldn't just have to lose… he would more than likely have to die for the benefit of this chosen.

All of these thoughts flashed by in Gralith's mind as he stared out into the distance, absentminded.

It wouldn't be the first time such a thing had happened. He knew firsthand that the loss of such a person could truly gut what gaping wound they left behind.

'It seems that it is my turn…' Gralith thought silently, his mind awakening months later.

It was time to put an end to this farce.

…

While Gralith was thinking of this, Sylas, too, had learned of everything that could happen due to this Title. But his views were very different.

He had already lost something precious to himself once.

He didn't care who came. They wouldn't be able to take a single damn thing from him.

That he swore.

As he had this thought, the last of Sylas' Aether was perfectly swapped out.

What was the benefit of being able to wield Aether a full Tier above yourself?

It meant that he could finally swap out all of his Aether—not just for any random Aether—but Aether of true perfection, Aether that would make almost any F-tier in the universe tremble.

Aether formed from perfect, 100 Foundation, F-Grade Runes.

Sparks of lightning danced across Sylas' body, his body thrumming with a rampaging, roaring power.

Runes spontaneously formed and combusted around him, the world shifting and threatening to collapse.

As he evolved, his gaze landed on Cassarae's body by his side. She was curled up in thin sheets, sleeping peacefully as though her actions hadn't thrown the Petals of the Seeing Thorn into complete and utter chaos.

It seemed that soon, it would be about time he went to find a path to upgrade to a C-Grade Race.
