Chapter 148: Three Heroes Battle Osial! Each Shows Their Unique Talents!

~7 min read 1,288 words

Above the Jade Chamber!

Noticing the Archon’s attention shifting to Liyue Harbor, everyone’s expressions turned grim.

It would be one thing if it were just causing trouble here at Guyun Stone Forest, but if it involved ordinary citizens, it was something the Liyue the Liyue Qixing and those present could never accept.

“Alright, you may go and experience what it’s like to fight an Archon one-on-one.”

Luo Li ignored Osial, who was busy venting its rage, and instead issued a trial invitation to the Eula trio.

“Of course, since fighting on the sea surface is not very advantageous for you, remember to carry these with you.”

Flicking three crystal-clear beads to the three of them, Luo Li explained: “These are Water-Walking Beads. When you are in the water, you will walk as if on flat ground.”

The three women hung the rather magical beads around their necks, exchanged glances, and without the slightest hesitation, prepared to set off.

Since Luo Li had already decided, it meant it was almost impossible for them to escape the process of fighting the Archon.

In that case, resistance was useless; it was better to open their hearts and accept it.

Eula gripped her greatsword, full of fighting spirit.

“Then, let’s go!”

She was the first to step out, and in an instant, a wide ice path extended continuously from the Jade Chamber to the surface of the sea.

The spectacular road, over a thousand meters long, was incredibly stunning. Having mastered the power of the Teigu, she now found such a feat effortless.

Stepping onto the continuously extending ice surface, Eula slid down following gravity as if ice skating.

Shenhe could not help but be surprised that she could create such a large-scale scene so easily. She knew that even she would have to use adeptal arts to achieve this, and it would be quite energy-consuming.

Yet, looking at Eula, it seemed quite easy.

Master was right; there really are people beyond people, and heavens beyond heavens.

Glancing at Luo Li, Shenhe felt it might also have to do with him. No wonder Master asked him to come and instruct her.

Many thoughts flashed by, and Shenhe and Noelle followed Eula’s footsteps, sliding down the ice path until they arrived before the Archon Osial.

Only upon close contact did the three realize just how massive this Archon truly was.

Before it, the three of them were no better than ants.

“I’ll take the lead in attacking, you two provide support from the sides!”

Dealing with an Archon was certainly not comparable to dealing with Hilichurls, so Eula assigned tasks immediately.

They were not looking to defeat the Archon, but to hold out for this period and deliver a performance that would satisfy Luo Li.

Noelle nodded: “Understood, I will provide help at any time!”

Shenhe remained silent but nodded gently, indicating she understood.

The three of them ran toward Osial in a triangular formation.

Eula traveled along the ice surface to beneath the Archon. She didn’t know how big this thing was; just the head floating on the sea was hundreds of meters high, and its form beneath the sea was likely even more terrifying.

Shaking her head to dispel the trace of fear in her heart, the ice-blue maiden let out a soft cry. Her demon blood boiled, and she manipulated the Cryo element to form a greatsword dozens of meters long, slashing toward one of Osial’s heads.

Clearly, Osial did not put mere ants in its eyes; it didn’t even have the inclination to pay attention. All four of its heads looked past the Jade Chamber in the sky toward Liyue Harbor in the distance.

Ignoring the slash of the ice sword, Osial spat out a pure, destructive elemental torrent, hoping to destroy the floating island in one blow.

However, at the same time, Eula’s slash arrived.

It had assumed the ant’s attack would be ineffective, but to its surprise, the indestructible ice actually left a mark on its sturdy scales.

Accompanied by a sharp pain, Osial’s ferocious gaze looked down, and its breath ceased abruptly.

Giving a provocative look, Eula stepped on the sea surface and flipped away, dodging a black shadow flashing from the seabed.

“This is… a tail?”

Sensing the massive object sweeping past with great force, Eula could feel her skin stinging.

“Tsk, what a terrifying size.”

Just the sweep of the tail stirred up a massive wave, and the tail end alone was ten zhang thick.

Rather than calling it a tail sweep, it would be more accurate to say it was attempting to flatten her directly.

With the counterattack ineffective, another of Osial’s heads opened its massive mouth, and a violent, piercing light emerged within its oral cavity, attempting to drown Eula with a pure elemental torrent.

Seeing this, Noelle could no longer afford to hold back and immediately drew her Amenoma Kageuchi.

“Be careful, I’ll help you!”

The dual-wielding maid stepped firmly on the sea surface, then suddenly leaped up, making a violent downward slash from the air using the swing of her waist and feet.

“Dragon Hammer Flash!”

Supported by her superhuman strength, the katana flashed like a bolt of lightning.

If it weren’t a precious blade from the Amenoma family, one of the five Inazuman sword-making traditions, it would likely have shattered under the strain.

Even so, the blade emitted a hum near its limit.

Using the waves to bounce, Noelle arrived directly before Osial, meeting those cruel and terrifying eyes.

Her powerful sword technique split its scales, sending several pieces flying, each half the size of a person even after shattering.

Osial hissed, a look of annoyance appearing in its eyes; even ants dared to strike at it.

Before the Archon could react, Noelle immediately followed up with the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū.

“Dragon Flight Flash!”

With a high-speed drawing and twisting posture, the combat maid in her maid outfit unleashed her monstrous strength, smashing from bottom to top against Osial’s chin. Simultaneously, the Silver-Star Greatsword in her right hand utilized the momentum to execute the Dragon Coil Flash’s spin, bind, and storm techniques, synthesizing them into a five-hit combo.

The terrifying strength exploded, smashing Osial’s head sideways in an instant.

The breath in its mouth was extinguished, and, dazed and confused, it suddenly became irritable, and the third head on the side lunged to bite.

If that had connected, Noelle could have called it a "GG" on the spot.

With no leverage in the air, she could only watch the foul-smelling maw descend.

But Noelle has teammates!

To the right, Shenhe moved her long legs to run along Osial’s long neck, manifesting the ice domain of the mystic maiden’s talisman.

"Adeptal Art! Decree!"

Several-zhang-long ice spears manifested out of thin air and were hurled by the mystic maiden at Osial’s third head.

Although it did not cause much damage, it deflected the direction of its bite.

With this momentary chance to breathe, Noelle retracted her rebounding tachi.

"Dragon Cry Flash!"

The moment the Archon’s head brushed past her body, she unleashed a lightning-fast sheathing technique.

It was originally intended to use powerful ultrasonic waves to destroy the enemy’s brain tissue, but for an Archon, it would only cause discomfort for a while.

The piercing hum left this head of Osial feeling dazed, unable to react for a short time.

Taking this opportunity, Noelle gripped her Snow-Tombed Starsilver and slashed fiercely at its forehead; blinding sparks flashed, accompanied by a dull thud that echoed through the air.

"So hard!"

Feeling the recoil force traveling up her arms, and seeing the faint bloodstain on Osial’s forehead, Noelle muttered as she plummeted rapidly, landing on the sea surface and kicking up a massive splash.
