"What happened?"

Jiang Yan was shaken until his head spun a little.

"It's the pulse of the leylines!"

Morax sensed it carefully for a moment, then spoke in a low voice.

As the God of Geo, possessing the Authority of Geo, he naturally knew the movements of the leylines like the back of his hand.

"So basically, it's an earthquake, right?"

Jiang Yan steadied himself — he'd thought it was something major.

Turns out it was just an earthquake.

"No, it's not that simple."

Morax's expression turned solemn.

"This isn't a leyline node. Speaking from a purely rational standpoint, an earthquake shouldn't be happening here at all."

"Not a natural earthquake, then?"

Jiang Yan thought for a moment. "So there's a demon-god battle nearby?"

Morax shook his head, and Jiang Yan quickly dismissed that guess as well.

The place was lush and green, the trees flourishing — it didn't look like demon-gods had ever fought here.

"If no demon-gods are waging war here, then it can only be..."

Morax looked toward the ground beneath them.

"Some creature is disrupting the order of the leylines."

"Step back a bit."

Jiang Yan nodded and retreated backward.

Morax raised his hand, and a shield manifested around both him and Jiang Yan.

"Heaven Moves, Myriad Forms!"

The originally azure sky suddenly darkened, and a streak of Jin Guang pierced through the clouds.

A massive meteor plummeted from the heavens, slamming violently into the ground.

Rolling dust surged out in all directions, billowing waves of smoke and grit churning outward.

A giant crater appeared before the two of them.

At the center of the crater, a colossal boulder stood there, trembling ceaselessly.

Both of their gazes converged upon the boulder.

Setting aside the fact that being able to withstand Morax's meteor in the first place was already extraordinary,

the streams of flowing radiance constantly drifting off the boulder's surface further set it apart from ordinary rock.

The boulder trembled violently.

As if it had been stunned by the meteor falling from the sky.

Jiang Yan watched the boulder in the crater with some curiosity — curious, yes, but he didn't dare rush in blindly to investigate.

Morax, too, stared fixedly at the boulder before him; he could actually sense a faint pressure emanating from it.

One must remember, he was the God of Geo, Morax — he had a natural advantage over Geo-attribute substances.

This boulder was no simple thing!

The boulder's trembling lasted for a short while, then gradually subsided.

It seemed to have sensed that Morax was the culprit who had destroyed its home.

The ground suddenly began to shake violently, as if the boulder itself were brimming with fury.

"Fall back first!"

Morax gave Jiang Yan a sharp shout, and at that very moment the boulder launched its own attack.

It was seen soaring into the sky as if employing some divine ability, then hurtling down at Morax in a Heaven-Shaking Boulder strike.

"Steady as a Boulder!"

Morax spread his hands wide, his shield unfurling to absorb the impact of the boulder's blow.

"If you want a fight, then come on!"

Morax let out a low roar. As a demon-god, Morax had his own pride — he wasn't something just anyone could provoke.

A Rainbow-Rending Halberd appeared in his hand, and he charged at the boulder with his shield raised.

Behind him, Jiang Yan brought his hands together — if Morax was under attack, of course he couldn't just stand by!

"Wood Release! Wood Dragon Technique!"

A roar erupted from beneath Jiang Yan's feet, and a colossal wooden dragon burst forth from the ground, lunging at the boulder.

The boulder trembled violently, moving at tremendous speed.

The wooden dragon bit down on the boulder — and several of its teeth were actually shattered in the process.

Yet the boulder remained completely unscathed.

Even Jiang Yan was utterly shocked.

The wooden dragon was a derivative of his Wood Release, its hardness exceeding that of steel — yet the boulder before him had actually shattered its teeth!

The clash between the three of them made the very heavens and earth change color, and the shockwave gave the clouds in the sky a clean center part.

Countless thick wooden spikes erupted from the ground, attacking the boulder together with vines that stretched out alongside them.

In the sky, several rock spears descended along with a massive meteor, crashing down toward the boulder.

Yet the boulder showed no fear whatsoever — Lei Ming and fire-light surged around its body, and amid the flames and thunder, it shattered the attacks closing in on it.

"This thing can even channel other types of energy?!"

Jiang Yan was stunned; regarding the massive boulder attacking before him, he felt a strange sense of familiarity.

"This is... the energy within the earth veins!"

Morax's face was solemn, yet a surge of excitement welled up within his heart.

He had not felt this sense of evenly matched power for a long time!

Indeed, this massive boulder has reached the Demon God level!

"Again!"

Morax swung his spear, while Jiang Yan clasped his hands together once more, elemental forces surging around his body.

Time passed unknown; the surrounding trees were utterly destroyed. The sun had moved from east to west, showing how long this duel had lasted. A crack had appeared in Morax's shield at some point. The massive boulder was faring no better; the colorful light floating on its surface had dimmed considerably.

Long before the battle reached its midpoint, the elemental forces within his body could no longer sustain the consumption of such a high-level fight.
