Chapter 431: The Kamisato Family Attacked (Subscribe!!)
Elsewhere, Linghua's mother took Linghua and Ayato and ran swiftly toward the top of Mt. Yougou.
Once they reached the Grand Narukami Shrine at the summit of Mt. Yougou, they would be safe!
"Oh my, oh my, isn't this the Lady of the Kamisato Clan's head of house?"
"What a coincidence..."
A voice suddenly rang out before Linghua's group, and immediately after, a band of ronin wielding tachi appeared on the path up the mountain.
"You..."
Linghua's mother stared at the ronin before her, her face darkening.
"Hehehe, my apologies."
"We take money and do people's bidding. The lives of every Kamisato carry quite a hefty price!"
The ronin at the head let out a vicious laugh, cold light surging along the tachi in his hand.
"I will never let you harm them!"
Linghua's mother shielded little Linghua and little Ayato behind her, her voice cold.
"Hmph, hmph, hmph — just a mere woman, and you dare spout such wild words here..."
The ronin surged forward all at once, surrounding little Linghua's group of three in a tight ring.
"Tsk tsk, look at that — the Kamisato bloodline really is something."
One of the ronin swept his lecherous gaze over both Linghua and her mother, a lewd gleam shining in his eyes.
"Bastards, I won't let you get near Mother and Mama!"
Ayato clenched his fists, firmly shielding little Linghua behind him.
Little Linghua trembled, fear in her eyes.
On her slender wrist, the wooden dragon coiled into a bracelet — the dragon's eyes suddenly flickered.
Far across the sea, in Liyue Harbor.
Jiang Yan's hands, which had been handling official business, paused for a moment.
He raised his head to look toward Inazuma, a cold glint in his eyes.
Mt. Yougou.
As the ronin swarmed in, they clashed with Linghua's mother.
Though Linghua's mother had some martial skill, against this band of desperados she had no way to resist at all.
Before long, Linghua's mother was slashed down by a ronin and sent sprawling to the ground.
"Mother!"
Little Ayato rushed forward and threw himself in front of his mother; though his eyes were filled with fear, he did not retreat.
Little Linghua, meanwhile, ran to her mother and clung tightly to her.
"Linghua, Ayato — run!"
Linghua's mother cried out loudly.
Little Ayato and little Linghua were children; there was no way they could hold off these warriors.
A warrior strode swiftly forward and kicked Ayato to the ground with one foot.
"Run? None of you are getting away!!"
"Fall for me!!"
The ronin leapt violently into the air, the blade in his hand slashing down toward little Linghua.
"No!!"
Ayato coughed up a mouthful of blood and roared out.
Little Linghua raised her hands, fearfully shielding her eyes.
At that very moment, the wooden dragon bracelet on her wrist suddenly blazed to life.
"ROOOOAR!!!!"
A massive cloud of dust instantly enveloped little Linghua's group of three; then, accompanied by a terrified shriek, that ronin vomited blood and was sent flying backward, slamming hard into the mountainside, unable to move.
This sudden turn of events stunned the surrounding ronin; they gripped their tachi tightly, their faces solemn as they stared into the dust.
A colossal wooden dragon appeared within the dust cloud, its body coiling round and round, tightly shielding little Linghua's group within its form.
"Damn it — what the hell is this thing?!"
Several ronin stared in terror at the enormous creature that had suddenly appeared before them.
"Th-this is..."
