Chapter 849

Tree branches, leaves, vegetation.

All living things were devoured by the insect swarm.

The forest was trampled into a wasteland.

In order to evolve long-range offensive capabilities,

the insects needed to sacrifice most of their other abilities.

So much so that

most insect types with long-range offensive capabilities have relatively slow movement speeds.

The battle entered its third hour.

The first wave of long-range insect swarms

finally arrived on the battlefield!

"Boom!"

Greeting them was a barrage of laser fire.

Almost as soon as they arrived on the battlefield,

the 【Mortar Scythe Demon Insects】, under the command of Hunting Xi Xia, launched their first wave of fire at the long-range monsters!

The yellow sand filling the sky was swallowed by these hundreds of orange laser beams!

The sound of the wind roared in.

The ground erupted with the 'crackling' sound of high-temperature explosions.

The extreme heat

plowed hundreds of interwoven, glazed, colorful patterns into the ground.

Every insect swarm that came into contact with the lasers—

defensive types, offensive types, long-range types—without exception, all turned into mere specks of color on those patterns.

In this single round of attacks alone,

tens of thousands of insects had their existence erased!

However,

the number of insects was truly too exaggerated.

The gullies plowed into the ground were instantly filled back up by the swarm.

Long-range insect swarms have more superior forms,

so they also require more energy to reproduce.

For every ten insects bred,

only about two long-range insects can appear.

The Seventeen-Nation Allied Forces' land insect swarm only numbered three million, but their total insect swarm count was in the tens of millions!

And most of the long-range insect swarms were deployed on the ground.

Wave after wave of long-range insect swarms

began long-range bombardment of the Lishan Demon Insects!

Ordinary Lishan Demon Insects couldn't even get close before being blasted into mangled limbs and fragments by various spikes and energy projectiles!

Even if a Great Lishan Demon Insect managed to get close,

its remaining health would be less than half.

Before long, it would be gnawed away completely.

In large-scale warfare,

long-range firepower is truly too important!

Just as Yao Shanxue said,

the Lishan Demon Insects couldn't withstand the firepower suppression alone!

"Boom!"

Another round of laser fire struck.

The insect swarm braved the lasers, pushing forward wave after wave.

Countless insects were blasted into residue.

The Bear Nation's team captain,

Lion King Levsky,

couldn't help but look up toward the Scythe Demon Insects on the distant mountain peak.

He whispered softly:

"The Sun God and the others haven't appeared yet; it seems traveling underground is still much slower than on the surface."

"Boss, if this continues, even if we win, the insect swarm will suffer heavy losses."

"We clearly have the numbers to crush them; this way of fighting isn't cost-effective!"

A Bear Nation practitioner frowned and said worriedly.

It was true that they were dealing with the Dragon Nation now!

But if they lost too many troops,

when the Demigod race emerged in a few days, what would they have left to resist?

Quite a few Bear Nation practitioners

were actually feeling some regret now.

They never expected

that even with the Seventeen-Nation Allied Forces, the Dragon Nation's insect swarm would still be so hard to chew!

Levsky's face darkened slightly as he said:

"Since we're here, don't say any more useless nonsense."

His teammate's regret was like salt sprinkled on his wounds.

Attacking the Dragon Nation

was undoubtedly the decision that went most against Levsky's conscience.

Li Yao's strength

forced him to choose to ally with other countries

for the sake of victory.

"No more waiting!" Levsky gritted his teeth and took out a small beetle.

After fiddling with it for a moment,

a large detachment split off from the rear of the insect swarm.

"Move out, up the mountain!"

The Mortar Scythe Demon Insects on the battlefield could simply be described as a 'natural disaster.'

Their insect swarms had absolutely no means to contend with them!

If they wanted to preserve their forces, they had to deal with the Scythe Demon Insects as soon as possible!

The army of one hundred thousand insects, vast and mighty,

marched toward the mountain peak closest to the Bear Nation practitioners.

With long-range insect firepower covering the path,

compared to the Asura Kingdom's force, which only had ten thousand left by the time they reached the foot of the mountain,

the Bear Nation had a full fifty thousand insects remaining this time!

The vast majority of those lost

were killed by laser fire!

On the mountain peak,

thousands of Great Demon Mountain Insects responsible for defense poured out from everywhere.

"Kill!"

Levsky's expression was cold as he shouted.

Fifty thousand against a few thousand—

a ten-fold numerical difference.

Even if the opponent's insect swarm had strong individual strength,
