Chapter 1041: Taking the Chance to Suppress the Treasure Pavilion

Zhao Kuang's forehead was covered in cold sweat.

He knew Su Yang's words were absolutely not said in jest.

If he said he'd make him guard the warehouse, he could definitely make him guard the warehouse!

During the journey, Su Yang kept thinking about how to deal with that Beast Sovereign; this time he couldn't possibly fight alone.

A few Sovereign-class fierce beasts — that was no joke.

Those fierce beasts might have all sorts of strange and bizarre abilities.

He needed the assistance of powerful military experts!

Besides, he also needed to think about how to increase his own contribution to the mission.

Other than that, he didn't think too much about it.

As long as his share of the contribution was large enough, the losses in the southeast would be that much smaller.

The interests of both sides were aligned.

This time, a true large-scale legion battle was about to break out!

Returning to Zhanghai City, Su Yang reported the intelligence obtained from the Seven-Colored Illusion Butterfly to Qian Hailong. Qian Hailong's expression was extremely grim, but the old man had also seen his share of great storms.

Grim expression aside, he still kept his composure.

Qian Hailong had absolute faith in the intelligence Su Yang had obtained.

After all, Su Yang was also a Federation General!

Moreover, the intelligence Su Yang obtained was far more reliable than Zhang Yi merely judging by sound.

"I'll immediately send people to the General Military Headquarters to report the news. I'll also draw elite forces from the major cities and rush them to Black Tiger City. The matters on the front line, I'll leave them to you!"

"Yes, General Qian!"

Qian Hailong said sincerely, "This time it's all thanks to you — you've saved us quite a bit of time!"

Su Yang's intelligence reconnaissance had bought the Southeast Military Department a considerable amount of time.

Time is life — that was no exaggeration.

Giving the Southeast Military Department a few extra days might save over a hundred thousand civilians.

Su Yang corrected him, "We also have to thank Old City Lord Zhang Yi. If Elder Zhang hadn't recognized that Beast Sovereign from just a single beast roar, we probably wouldn't have known anything over here!"

"Indeed! We still have to thank Elder Zhang!" Qian Hailong nodded. "Although these old soldiers are no longer as combat-capable, their experience is still worth a fortune!"

"Mm!"

No one could deny that.

Qian Hailong said worriedly, "I just don't know if there's enough time!"

"I might be able to buy a little time!"

"What do you mean?"

"I might be able to cause some trouble for that Beast Sovereign inside Black Hushan Range, and stall it for a bit!" Su Yang said with a smile. "If I can't bully those Sovereign-class fierce beasts, I can at least bully some other fierce beasts. Guerrilla warfare — I'm quite good at that!"

"Fine, but make sure you stay safe!"

"Mm!"

Su Yang nodded, just about to leave, then stopped in his tracks.

"Is there anything else?"

"I'd like to apply to have Liu Mengyun transferred over!"

Qian Hailong said in surprise, "Liu Mengyun?"

"Yes!"

For this large-scale war, Su Yang wanted to bring Liu Mengyun along.

Liu Mengyun had been stuck guarding Mount Dajiao City for his sake, and her strength hadn't improved in a long time.

"Deputy Liu's abilities are extremely useful in large-scale warfare!"

Qian Hailong briefly recalled Liu Mengyun's file and accepted Su Yang's suggestion.

Su Yang wasn't wrong — Liu Mengyun's freezing ability was extremely powerful. In large-scale legion warfare, as long as the timing was right and the ability was used well, it would produce miraculous effects!

Moreover, Liu Mengyun's freezing ability should be able to cause trouble for Sovereign-class fierce beasts!

"But right now combat strength is in short supply, so it's not easy to send someone to replace Liu Mengyun."

Every large-scale sea beast tide had clear warning signs.

Right now, not even a warning sign had appeared. Even if Mount Dajiao City went without a King-class expert defending it for a few days, it wouldn't be a big problem.

Still, someone needed to stay and hold the city.

Better safe than sorry.

Su Yang suddenly said, "Then I'll just conscript the Treasure Pavilion's Mount Dajiao City branch and have Baicang help me watch over Mount Dajiao City. The affairs of Mount Dajiao City will be handled by the Deputy City Lord — he won't need to worry about it!"

Strictly speaking, their Military Department was qualified to conscript all Huaxia-nationality Beast Tamers to participate in the war!

"General Qian, isn't the Treasure Pavilion a bloated, unmanageable entity? This is the perfect chance to rebuild the Southeast Military Department's prestige!"

"You mean…"

Qian Hailong seemed to half-understand Su Yang's meaning, and half not.

"Taking the fight against the Beast Sovereign Hurricane Howl Cloud Tiger as the pretext, we'll issue a loud and clear conscription order to the Treasure Pavilion!" Su Yang lowered his voice and said. "If they dare not comply, their reputation will be ruined and they'll become the public enemy of the southeast. They'll also be put on the General Military Headquarters' radar. The General Military Headquarters might not have time to deal with the Treasure Pavilion right now, but the Treasure Pavilion will definitely end up on the blacklist of the General Military Headquarters and other military departments. Those businessmen dare to compete with the Southeast Military Department everywhere, even snatching Beast Tamers from our military department — but they would never dare to openly oppose the Federation!"

"As long as they agree to be conscripted by the Southeast Military Department and participate in the war under the Southeast Military Department's leadership, the Southeast Military Department's prestige will be established. When the time comes, everyone will know that our Southeast Military Department is the true boss of the southeast!"

Qian Hailong stared at Su Yang in a daze, and only after a long while did he say, "How did you come up with that?"

The Southeast Military Department was indeed not dominant enough in the southeast.

Every day, Beast Tamers were drawn to the Treasure Pavilion and joined its camp.

This did indeed put the Southeast Military Department in a very passive position.

Su Yang was merely using this war as an opportunity to establish the Southeast Military Department's prestige and curb the slightly arrogant ambitions of the Treasure Pavilion.

Don't underestimate this bit of prestige!

For the Military Department, this bit of prestige is very important!

It can attract more young beast tamers to join, it can make organizations and families across the land lean toward the Military Department when choosing where to place their bets, and it can win the hearts of the people for the Military Department…

"How did I think of that?" Su Yang rubbed his nose. "I just wanted to transfer Vice Officer Liu over!"

"You really are a goddamn weirdo!"

After holding it in for a long while, Qian Hailong finally came up with an adjective.

Qian Hailong's cultural studies were clearly not great—he didn't even know as many idioms as Su Yang!

He said loudly: "Your method is very good, I'll use it. Go find your Vice Officer Liu first. Tell Ba Cang directly that he's been conscripted. I'll issue the conscription order to the Treasure Pavilion right away!"

"Then thank you very much, General Qian!"

"No need, I'm the one who should be thanking you!"

"Then I'll head to Mount Dajiao City first!"

"Go on!"

Staring at the spot where Su Yang had vanished, Qian Hailong let out a long breath and murmured: "This Su Yang, his brain works absurdly well. If only he could stay a bit calmer when things come up, I'd say he could take over Marshal Xu's position!"

"Ding~ Congratulations to the Host for delving deep into the Black Hushan Range to investigate, uncovering the whereabouts of the Beast Emperor Hurricane-Roaring Cloud Tiger, as well as its attack intentions, accurately determining enemy information for the Southeast Military Department, earning the affirmation of General Qian Hailong of the Southeast Military Department, buying substantial time for the Southeast Military Department to muster its forces, and making a certain contribution to the victory of the large-scale legion mission. If the southeastern part of the Huaxia Federation ultimately achieves victory, the Host's mission completion rating will be set as: Pass!"
