Chapter 1053

Today is no longer suitable for battle.

Su Yang knew very well that attempting to ambush the Beast Emperor next would likely become even more difficult.

After all, the Beast Emperor is no fool!

"General Su!"

The city guard officer recognized Su Yang.

In recent days, news of the Beast Emperor's imminent arrival had spread throughout Black Tiger City.

All civilians of Black Tiger City, under the Southeast Army's arrangements, were boarding worm trains and beginning an orderly evacuation.

It was highly probable that Black Tiger City's frontline position against the Beast Emperor's Hurricane Cloud Tiger would be breached or abandoned.

The civilians of Black Tiger City were no longer suited to remain inside the city.

Before the Beast Emperor arrived in full force, relocating the people first was the safest course.

Su Yang met Ma Long and briefly explained the situation to him.

"What? General Su killed the Beast Emperor's Emperor-Rank Beast subordinate and ambushed the Beast Emperor's main force twice?"

Xia Na exclaimed excitedly: "General Su is this powerful!"

In both battles, Xia Na had merely been a spectator, but she still felt her vanity swelling!

She was now General Su's trusted subordinate!

If General Su was powerful, wasn't she also glorious?

Su Yang waved his hand, and the corpse of the Emperor-Rank Beast, Jin Guang Blood Divine Vulture, filled the vast square of the Black Tiger City military headquarters completely!

"Jin Guang Blood Divine Vulture!"

Ma Long and Zhao Kuang were both stunned by the corpse of the Jin Guang Blood Divine Vulture.

Especially Zhao Kuang—he had seen many human corpses in his life, but this was the first time he had ever seen an Emperor-Rank Beast corpse.

"Keep the core, and hand the rest of the corpse over to the kitchen!" Su Yang said. "We're going to fight soon—feed the brothers something good!"

"Yes, General Su!"

Ma Long, commander of the Southeast Army's Emergency Unit, replied respectfully.

Zhao Kuang, facing Su Yang, could no longer stand straight!

After dinner, Su Yang stood on the wall of Black Tiger City, gazing silently toward the direction of the Black Tiger Mountains.

The work of reinforcing the walls was not yet finished.

Even though everyone knew that the reinforced concrete walls were useless against Star-Brilliance or King-level Beasts, Ma Long still ordered the city's Beast Tamer division to strengthen them.

In Ma Long's words, reinforcing the walls might have a minor effect, but it gave these men something to do and eased their psychological pressure.

Footsteps approached from behind; Su Yang didn't need to turn—he knew it was Liu Mengyun.

Su Yang smelled her fragrance.

"Are you worried?"

"A little," Su Yang laughed. "I've never faced a battle on this scale before. The Daoguona Gang couldn't even hold the Beast Emperor's shoes!"

"It's fine!" Liu Mengyun said. "There's General Qian, and the Federation—they'll send elite reinforcements. You're not fighting alone this time!"

"Mm."

If he wanted to defeat the Beast Emperor with only his own strength, it truly wouldn't be enough!

He needed other elites to help distract part of the Beast Emperor's power.

But the Beast Emperor's strength… Su Yang had caught a fleeting glimpse and already assessed it.

Hurricane Cloud Tiger had reached Emperor-Rank High-Grade!

Its talent was extraordinary, living up to the title of Beast Emperor!

A Mythic-level talent enhancing Wind skills, a Legendary-level Power talent, a Legendary-level enhanced sense of smell, a Rare-level physical strength talent…

Forty years ago, the Southeast Army believed the Beast Emperor had Emperor-Rank High-Grade strength; now it seemed they had overestimated its rank.

But the Beast Emperor's extraordinary combat talent made it appear even stronger!

Over these forty years, this Beast Emperor may have advanced two or three levels!

Su Yang knew very well that even in a fair one-on-one fight, his chances of defeating that Beast Emperor were slim!

Even if he won, it would be a pyrrhic victory!

Moreover, Hurricane Cloud Tiger had a million Beast subordinates, ten Emperor-Rank Beasts, and hundreds of King-level Beasts—how could it possibly duel him alone?

Intelligence on Hurricane Cloud Tiger clearly stated that this Beast Emperor always crushed enemies with its entire legion.

Right now, Su Yang's most urgent priority was to raise his own rank.

But attempting another ambush on the Beast Emperor's forces would certainly become increasingly dangerous.

Su Yang decided not to bring Liu Mengyun and the others along.

Su Yang smiled: "Deputy Liu, why don't you help them reinforce the walls?"

"Reinforce the walls?"

"Build a Bingcheng… how about that? I think it would be beautiful!"
