Chapter 1098

Once one side's morale drops and they see no hope of victory, they will begin to rout.

With the Beast Emperor slain, the Xiong Shou army could only rely on its ferocious aura to mount a counterattack.

Under the boost of two perfect-tier buff skills—Light of Undying and Star of Speed—Su Yang led the Lianbang forces and became nearly an undead army.

The Lianbang beast tamers' side had morale soaring high, fearless of death, fighting tooth and nail!

If even numerous King-Rank Top-Grade ferocious beasts couldn't break the defense of Gold-Rank beast tamers, what's the point of fighting!

High-rank ferocious beasts are intelligent; they too feel fear, and like humans, they assess the situation.

Without the Beast Emperor's intimidation, the army was leaderless, seeing no hope of victory, while the high-rank ferocious beasts on their own side were being slaughtered wantonly by the Lianbang's King-Rank Top-Grade experts.

The high-rank ferocious beasts, in truth, had no interest in contending for the world.

As for humans, the high-rank ferocious beasts held little interest either.

To high-rank ferocious beasts, the vast majority of humans were less nutritious than even Black-Iron-Rank ferocious beasts!

They were merely ferocious beasts subjugated one by one by the Beast Emperor, subordinates of the Beast Emperor!

Now that the Beast Emperor was dead, they certainly wouldn't continue to serve him loyally!

Moreover, they realized that the human beast tamers had actually unleashed large-scale buff skills just like their Beast Emperor—two of them, no less—whose amplification effects were even several times stronger than their Beast Emperor's!

How could they fight?

The first to flee were the Star Brilliance-Rank and King-Rank ferocious beasts!

Once Star Brilliance-Rank and King-Rank ferocious beasts began to flee, more high-rank ferocious beasts followed suit.

Everyone else had run; why should they fight to the death?

With the high-rank ferocious beasts fleeing, the Xiong Shou army's strength plummeted.

For Platinum-Rank, Gold-Rank, and Silver-Rank ferocious beasts to continue resisting would be nothing but a fool's dream!

Soon, the ferocious beasts daring to engage the human beast tamer army head-on were cut down one by one by the Lianbang forces, and the Xiong Shou army collapsed completely!

Hundreds of thousands of Xiong Shou troops, whether aerial or ground forces, all fled toward the Black Hushan Range.

At this point, massive stampedes broke out within the Xiong Shou army.

In the flight, countless King-Rank and Star Brilliance-Rank ferocious beasts trampled weaker ones underfoot; many ferocious beasts weren't killed by the Lianbang army but were trampled to death by their own kind!

Especially the ground-type low-rank ferocious beasts—when those King-Rank and Star Brilliance-Rank ferocious beasts ran for their lives, they truly cared nothing for their companions' fate!

Watching the ferocious beasts completely collapse and scatter in all directions, Su Yang led the Earth Fury Bear in continued pursuit!

High in the sky, wherever the Storm Eagle led its aerial squadron, the corpses of flying ferocious beasts fell like a torrential rain!

With the Storm Eagle's Star of Speed accelerating them, the Lianbang forces pursuing the Xiong Shou army held every advantage.

Nine minutes later, the Earth Fury Bear, charging at the very front, let out a roar, halted its pursuit, and turned back to slay the ferocious beasts lagging behind.

In the sky, the Storm Eagle, charging at the very front, let out a hawk's cry, folded back, and did not continue pursuing the Xiong Shou army fleeing toward the Black Hushan Range.

Just like the Earth Fury Bear, it too turned back to harvest the ferocious beasts that had fallen behind it!

The Lianbang troops, who had fallen into an almost frenzied state while following the Earth Fury Bear and Storm Eagle in slaughtering ferocious beasts, also, under the lead of the Earth Fury Bear and Storm Eagle, ceased their charge and instead cut down the enemies around them!

As they fought on, they found their movement speed gradually slowing, the azure glow on their bodies gradually dimming.

The majority of the Lianbang beast tamers gradually regained their senses!

The gradual disappearance of Light of Undying—those in their frenzy might not feel it; they would only notice after taking a brutal beating and getting injured.

But the disappearance of Star of Speed, they could feel it clearly.

If moments ago they were racing at supersonic speed, now they were snails crawling on the ground!

They were all elite Lianbang beast tamer squads, almost all drawn from the three major military branches and the General Headquarters; the weakest among them were Gold-Rank beast tamers, and every one of them had ample combat experience.

Thus, they quickly realized... the two large-scale buff skills Su Yang had bestowed upon them were about to fade, and they could no longer charge like that!

Even those who hadn't realized it were loudly reminded by their comrades.

Seeing this situation, Su Yang breathed a slight sigh of relief.

The Storm Eagle's Star of Speed, when first activated, was the most dangerous for friendly forces.

Beast tamers and their pets, suddenly unable to handle such speed, might charge straight into danger zones or crash into enemy skills!

As for the Earth Fury Bear's Light of Undying, for friendly forces, it was most dangerous when about to expire.

Relying on Light of Undying's terrifying defense, Gold-Rank beast tamers dared to charge up and pick fights with Star Brilliance-Rank ferocious beasts, nearly all turning into berserk warriors; many beast tamers and ferocious beasts, under Light of Undying's shelter, would go completely bloodshot with killing intent.

Once beast tamers and their pets fell into this frenzied state, they likely wouldn't notice Light of Undying fading...

At that moment, with their defense gone, if they continued charging in a life-for-life manner, they could very well be torn apart by ferocious beasts.

Fortunately, Su Yang discovered that using Star of Speed and Light of Undying together caused them to end almost simultaneously, making it easy for the bloodshot Lianbang army to regain their senses.

That sensation of speed plummeting from supersonic in a short span, that awkward feeling of feet sinking deep into mud, running in shackles—how could they not regain their senses!

Su Yang roared loudly: "Immediately restore battle formation, advance in an orderly manner!"

The Lianbang soldiers who had regained their senses, under Su Yang's command, steadily and surely began to hunt down the fleeing ferocious beasts.

Although Light of Undying and Star of Speed had faded, the overall situation was decided.

Completely without momentum, utterly collapsed, leaderless ferocious beasts could not possibly resist!

Su Yang looked toward the sky, where the Storm Eagle, leaving afterimage after afterimage in the air and harvesting ferocious beasts like a scythe, was instructed through the spiritual link: "Storm Eagle, you may pursue freely!"

Su Yang had already noticed that the Storm Eagle was close to upgrading to Emperor-Rank Low-Grade!

Because of the Storm Eagle's terrifying speed, its killing speed was also frighteningly fast.

As it sped through the sky, a long trail of blood mist stretched out behind it!

On the battlefield just now, the Storm Eagle had raised its strength to King-Rank Top-Grade.

Now it was just a bit short of experience, and it could upgrade to Emperor-Rank Low-Grade!

With just a little more effort, it could become the fifth Emperor-Rank Low-Grade ferocious beast under Su Yang's command, following the Void Wraith, Earth Fury Bear, Elder Yan Mo, and Hell Blood Vine Flower!

Now King-Rank ferocious beasts were running everywhere—a once-in-a-thousand-years upgrade opportunity for Su Yang's pets; it couldn't be missed.

The Beast Sovereign had lain dormant for forty years, tamed eleven Sovereign-grade fierce beasts, and gathered an army of a million fierce beasts—yet most of them ended up making a wedding gown for Su Yang!

To Su Yang, this army of a million fierce beasts was simply an enormous pool of experience!

Miss this chance, and who knows how many years would pass before the next one!

After all, the Federation's territory was so vast, and in nearly a hundred years, only a handful of Beast Sovereigns possessing fierce-beast armies had ever appeared!
