Chapter 1124: Lianbang High-Level Meeting! Su Yang

Xu Yuanshuai hurriedly asked: "Are you saying Su Yang got into trouble?"

"Yes!"

"What kind of trouble? Did he suffer serious injuries or something?" Xu Yuanshuai said. "I'm Lao Mo—you're a senior elder. On the battlefield, why didn't you look out for Su Yang?"

"That's not what I meant! General Xu, you misunderstood!" Mo Yunjian quickly said. "I mean, it wasn't the Beast Emperor that had problems, nor did I kill the Beast Emperor—it was Su Yang who broke through mid-battle and became a Royal-level Beast Tamer, then he slaughtered that Beast Emperor!"

One senior loudly said: "How is that possible? General Mo, are you joking?"

"Exactly! Even if Su Yang broke through to Royal level, he still couldn't have been a match for that Beast Emperor!"

"… "

Shi Fanmeng stepped forward and said: "I know this may be hard to accept, but it's the truth—after Su Yang broke through, his several King-Rank Top-Grade companion beasts also broke through to Royal level and killed that Stormhowling Cloud Tiger. We can all vouch for it!"

Mo Yunjian also said: "Yes, I witnessed Su Yang kill that Beast Emperor with my own eyes!"

Behind Mo Yunjian and Shi Fanmeng, the returning Generals and elite officers from the General Headquarters also stepped forward to testify.

The Lianbang Army's senior leadership finally believed it.

After the senior leadership calmed down, Shi Fanmeng continued: "Not only did Su Yang break through to become a Royal-level Beast Tamer, but even his deputy, Liu Mengyun, broke through to Royal-level Beast Tamer during that war!"

Xu Yuanshuai exclaimed: "So our Lianbang Army has gained two new Royal-level Beast Tamers?"

"Yes!"

"That's fantastic!"

"Three Royal-level Beast Tamers—our federation's strength has surged dramatically!"

"Heaven truly favors Huaxia!"

"… "

Behind Xu Yuanshuai, a group of veteran Lianbang leaders wore joyful smiles.

For the past three hundred years, Huaxia had been crushed too badly by ferocious beasts!

Su Yang and Liu Mengyun both breaking through was a monumental good omen for the federation!

With three Royal-level Beast Tamers, Huaxia can now send three to surround and attack any powerful Royal-level beast that causes chaos.

No more need to sacrifice Beast Tamer units like expendable numbers!

The entire Huaxia Federation will become far more stable!

Even if, to some of them, soldiers' lives were just numbers.

But everyone certainly hoped those numbers would never drop…

For these senior leaders, Huaxia's interests aligned with their own!

The news that Su Yang and Liu Mengyun had both become Royal-level Beast Tamers spread quickly among the Lianbang leadership.

Both new Beast Tamers were alarmingly young.

Yet the Lianbang leadership wasn't unwilling to accept it.

Su Yang needed no further explanation—the senior leadership had long believed he would become a Royal-level Beast Tamer; he'd simply accelerated their predicted timeline by a huge margin.

With Su Yang already there, another Beast Tamer slightly older than him—Liu Mengyun—seemed perfectly reasonable.

The Lianbang leadership convened a meeting, with Mo Yunjian and Shi Fanmeng in attendance.

The main purpose was for Mo Yunjian and Shi Fanmeng to recount the details of the Beast Emperor war.

After listening, many senior leaders were stunned by Su Yang's performance.

Every senior leader held one thought: Su Yang's potential might extend far beyond this!

Next came the issue of Su Yang's battle merit rewards.

He had single-handedly slain the Stormhowling Cloud Tiger and shattered the Beast Emperor's legion—his contributions were paramount.

He had, essentially, won the war for the Lianbang Army alone, indirectly saving countless soldiers' lives.

Rewards for others could be delayed, but Su Yang's could not.

"Since Su Yang killed the Beast Emperor alone and became a Royal-level Beast Tamer, shouldn't he be promoted to Lieutenant General?" Xu Yuanshuai thought for a moment and said. "This war is historic—it's the first time our federation has decisively shattered a Beast Emperor legion, and we did it by directly killing the Beast Emperor!"

"No objections!"

"Based on merit, promotion to Lieutenant General is justified!"

"… "

Some senior leaders believed Su Yang's battlefield achievements were sufficient for promotion to Lieutenant General.

But others raised objections:

"But Su Yang is too young! If we promote him now, how will we promote him later if he keeps earning more merit?"

"Exactly! Su Yang is too young—he needs more experience!"

"Yes, he's still young; there's no rush to promote him!"

"… "

Faced with these objections, Xu Yuanshuai gave it serious thought.

Honestly, these opponents had a point.

Su Yang really was too young!

Only eighteen!

An eighteen-year-old Major General had already broken the federation's record.

Promoting him to Lieutenant General at eighteen would be absurd.

Honestly, even these veteran leaders, no matter how much they admired Su Yang, didn't want him challenging their status now, nor did they want to sit beside a "colleague" who might be a hundred years younger than them!

The rank of Lieutenant General placed one among the federation's top leadership, with influence over federal decisions!

Xu Yuanshuai looked at Mo Yunjian and Shi Fanmeng: "What's your opinion?"
