Chapter 1165: The Federation Academy of Sciences Has Sent Someone—Collect Samples!

But Su Yang thought it wasn't a big problem—he could just do it again if needed.

After breakfast, Su Yang was about to take Liu Mengyun to Wucheng when an elderly officer with the rank of General suddenly came to visit.

There are only a few Generals in the Huaxia Federation, but this old man, though equal in rank to Mo Yunjian, possessed only Starlight-level power.

A Starlight-level General—Su Yang had never seen one before.

After the Great Catastrophe, the Federation strictly upheld its military merit system, and all Federation Generals should have earned their rank through battlefield combat.

Without the fierce sacrifices of the soldiers, the Federation would not have its current situation.

Su Yang simply could not figure out how this Starlight-level Beast Tamer had obtained the rank of General.

The General had deep wrinkles, white hair, a hunched posture, and heavy dark circles under his eyes, as if he had suffered chronic sleep deprivation.

Su Yang respectfully saluted the General—no matter what, the rank was real.

The old General smiled and returned a weak, unsteady salute.

"General Su, I am Chen Wen, Vice President of the Federation Academy of Sciences—you can call me Vice President Chen; everyone else does."

Chen Wen!

No way!

Su Yang remembered who this was!

He had seen Chen Wen's photo in his textbooks—but that was Chen Wen in his middle age.

He had even studied several of Chen Wen's research reports on Beast Companions!

He hadn't recognized Chen Wen at all because the man had aged so much.

Even Liu Mengyun showed deep respect upon seeing Chen Wen.

"Vice President Chen, good day!"

"All good!" Chen Wen chuckled. "I've come to visit you, General Su, because I need your help with something."

"What kind of help?"

"It's like this!" Chen Wen scratched his messy hair and grinned. "I'd like to draw some blood from General Su and collect a tissue sample."

Su Yang joked, "Don't you need to slice me up?"

"Live tissue is more valuable!"

"Cough!"

Su Yang choked on Chen Wen's reply.

No wonder—he was a researcher through and through; the answer was perfectly professional.
