Chapter 119

Several days later, at dusk, Su Yang lay in the barracks when a sharp whistle sounded.

It was the signal for the First Squad to assemble.

Su Yang stepped out of the barracks and followed the other squad members to the open ground in the center of the camp, where He Yuhua had already been waiting.

The First Squad's beastmasters lined up unevenly, but He Yuhua paid no mind; he pulled out a roster and began calling names. Everyone was present except the four beastmasters still hunting ferocious beasts in the wild or on leave.

"Now, I will announce last month's hunting results for each beastmaster in the First Squad!"

The previously noisy members of the First Squad fell silent at once.

Su Yang suddenly remembered—it was the last day of the month!

"Sang Yue, Bronze-level Beastmaster, total harvest: one hundred fifty-seven Bronze-level ferocious beast cores, mission accomplished!"

"Zhou Yunjian, Bronze-level Beastmaster, total harvest: ninety-three Bronze-level ferocious beast cores, mission accomplished!"

"…"

"Wu Yuqing, Bai Yin-level Beastmaster, total harvest: sixty-seven Bai Yin-level ferocious beast cores, mission accomplished!"

"Tian Chong, Bai Yin-level Beastmaster, total harvest: seventy Bai Yin-level ferocious beast cores, mission accomplished!"

"…"

Bronze-level beastmasters must hunt three Bronze-level ferocious beasts daily.

Bai Yin-level beastmasters must hunt two Bai Yin-level ferocious beasts daily.

On Mount Qixing, the number of Bai Yin-level ferocious beasts is far fewer than Bronze-level ones; sometimes, searching for Bai Yin-level beasts takes considerable time, so Mount Qixing's requirements for Bai Yin-level beastmasters have been lowered.

Sang Yue elbowed Su Yang: "Su Yang, why hasn't Boss He called your name?"

"I don't know!"

"Could he have forgotten?"

Wu Yuqing shot Sang Yue a glare: "How could he miss him? Anyone else might be missed—but never Su Yang!"

Soon, He Yuhua finished calling everyone's name except Su Yang's. He glanced at Su Yang and said: "Last month, everyone did well—every member of the First Squad met their quota. Commander Huo is very satisfied!"

"Next, I want to specially commend Su Yang!"

As soon as He Yuhua finished speaking, every eye turned to Su Yang.

"How many Bronze-level cores do you think Su Yang turned in?"

"Maybe three hundred! Those two beast companions of his are too powerful!"

"I bet five hundred—I always see his core bag bulging when he passes by!"

"…"

"Although Su Yang is still a newcomer, having just joined us, his achievements are extraordinarily brilliant!" He Yuhua cleared his throat theatrically. "Last month, Su Yang turned in eight hundred thirty-one Bronze-level cores. I won't even mention the Black Iron-level cores—he turned in the most cores of any member in our squad last month!"

"Sssss~"

Everyone was stunned!

They never dreamed Su Yang could kill so many ferocious beasts!

Eight hundred-plus cores means Su Yang killed nearly thirty Bronze-level ferocious beasts per day!

And that doesn't even count the Black Iron-level ones!

"I hope everyone will learn from Su Yang from now on!"
