Chapter 1203: Your Sovereign Jiazi Will Also Obey My Commands

"But it seems even stronger than me!"

The Golden-Scaled Mermaid's growth potential has indeed reached Emperor-Rank, but its current strength is only King-Rank Mid-Grade.

"The Seven-Colored Illusion Butterfly is about to break through to Sovereign-Rank now."

The Golden-Scaled Mermaid's pupils contracted, and it stared blankly at the Seven-Colored Illusion Butterfly.

Su Yang ran his fingers through its long blue hair and murmured by its ear, "Do you know what this means? If you want, you can possess God-Rank potential — God-Rank Low-Grade, Mid-Grade, or even High-Grade — none of it would be a problem."

Su Yang could hear the Golden-Scaled Mermaid's heavy breathing.

Any intelligent fierce beast would find it hard to stay calm in the face of Su Yang's temptation.

It swallowed, and slightly bowed to Su Yang: "General Su, what should I do?"

"I can cultivate you, let you possess limitless potential like the Seven-Colored Illusion Butterfly!" Su Yang's tone paused, "But I want to know — if I grant you God-Rank potential, if I grant you a path to rapidly increase your strength, and one day I come into conflict with Sovereign Jiazi, will you be loyal to me, or to Sovereign Jiazi?"

The Golden-Scaled Mermaid stood rooted to the spot like a wooden post upon hearing Su Yang's words.

Su Yang didn't rush it. He sat down on the sofa and unhurriedly watched the loyalty changes toward Sovereign Jiazi on the Golden-Scaled Mermaid's data profile.

The Golden-Scaled Mermaid's loyalty toward Sovereign Jiazi was actually not high — only 72 points.

72 points of loyalty was about average for a tamed beast under an ordinary beast-tamer.

But given the Golden-Scaled Mermaid's Emperor-Rank potential, Sovereign Jiazi maintaining 72 points of loyalty was already quite impressive!

The Nine-Tailed Fox's loyalty toward Sovereign Jiazi exceeded 80.

Compared to before, Little Fish was easier to win over.

The Golden-Scaled Mermaid struggled internally. After one minute, its loyalty toward Sovereign Jiazi dropped by one point, then began to plummet, all the way down to 60 points.

This time, Su Yang placed himself in opposition to Sovereign Jiazi, forcing the Golden-Scaled Mermaid to choose between the two — which was why its loyalty toward Sovereign Jiazi dropped so fast.

Unlike last time with the Ice Moon Elf — even though it was loyal to Su Yang, it remained devoted to Liu Mengyun, because Su Yang had assured it at the time that his interests were aligned with Liu Mengyun's!

This time was a completely special situation — establishing opposition was unavoidable.

Su Yang had no emotional bond with the Golden-Scaled Mermaid. To sign a contract with it, he had to drag down its loyalty toward Sovereign Jiazi and raise its loyalty toward himself.

Opposition was the best, fastest method.

Little Fish took a deep breath, clenched her fists, and said, "I am willing to pledge loyalty to General Su!"

One couldn't blame her for being disloyal — only that Su Yang's offer was too generous.

If the Golden-Scaled Mermaid were just a mid-level employee at a small company, Su Yang's promise would be comparable to promising her an annual salary of over a hundred million, promising to vault her straight across social classes into the Shangliushe Society!

And the contract could be signed on the spot, with the real and false promises clearly distinguished!

Tell me — who could resist?

Even if Sovereign Jiazi were her mother, she'd still want to jump ship!

What's more, Sovereign Jiazi wasn't the Golden-Scaled Mermaid's mother. The Golden-Scaled Mermaid was just a fierce beast — a fierce beast that craved evolution, craved strength, a fierce beast born cold-blooded!

"System, can I use a Forced Contract Scroll on the Golden-Scaled Mermaid?"

System: "The Golden-Scaled Mermaid already had some goodwill toward you. Its current goodwill toward you is 48 points!"

It already had goodwill before?

Su Yang figured it must be due to his personal charisma.

48 points of goodwill — still 12 points short.

Su Yang knew things wouldn't be that easy.

This Little Fish might be the type that wouldn't cast her net without seeing the rabbit.

But this was entirely within Su Yang's expectations: "System, track the changes in its goodwill toward me. Notify me every time it changes."

System: "Can do!"

Su Yang looked at the Golden-Scaled Mermaid: "Little Fish!"

Little Fish walked respectfully up to Su Yang: "General Su!"

"Actually, I know there's an emotional bond between you and Sovereign Jiazi." Su Yang tilted Little Fish's smooth, delicate chin up, and Little Fish obediently raised her head. "And you can hold contracts with both me and Sovereign Jiazi at the same time — it's just that mine takes priority. As long as Sovereign Jiazi doesn't betray me, you can stay by her side. I won't force you to choose between us. Do you understand?"

"I understand!"

Little Fish found it incredible — she had never heard of a fierce beast holding two contracts.

But such an incredible thing happening with Su Yang... it didn't seem impossible!

She also believed that, given Su Yang's intelligence, he wouldn't tell a lie that would be exposed at the slightest poke.

System: "Goodwill has risen to 50 points."

"You need to understand — I will train you well, give you God-Rank potential, grant you countless powerful talents. But I don't want to raise an ungrateful wretch, raise an enemy. You need to understand my concerns!"

"General Su, I can understand."

Of course the Golden-Scaled Mermaid could understand this.

If she were in his place, she'd have concerns too.

Su Yang being so candid with her made her feel a little better about it.

System notification: "Goodwill has risen to 51 points."

"Do you know why I chose you, and not that Nine-Tailed Fox?"

"Why?"

Little Fish looked at Su Yang curiously, also anticipating his answer.

"Because you're beautiful!"

System notification: "Goodwill has risen to 52 points!"

"Really?"

Little Fish didn't smile, but her eyes curved slightly.

She liked the compliment, but didn't care too much about it.

Su Yang's favor increased only slightly.

If the one praising her weren't Su Yang, she might not grant even a single point of favor!

"Of course it's true—you match my taste perfectly!"

"Thank you, General Su, for your praise!"

Though she said thanks, Jin Lin the mermaid felt no inner ripple.

Favor did not rise further.

"That nine-tailed fox? It's only got God-Rank Low-Grade potential, yet it won't even let me touch it! I just wanted to feel its fur because it looked nice—I wouldn't even want to touch most ferocious beasts," Su Yang said with clear annoyance. "God-Rank Low-Grade potential means nothing to me. I want you to teach it a proper lesson. Will you do it?"

"But I can't beat that fox! And Sovereign Jiazi won't allow it!"

System prompt: "Favor increased to 55 points!"

Over three days straight, favor rose significantly more!

Is this shared enmity?

Su Yang slightly narrowed his eyes—he seemed to have spotted the key point.

Perhaps her relationship with the nine-tailed fox isn't as "harmonious" as it seems!

Maybe the nine-tailed fox was too arrogant and offended Jin Lin with its words; or perhaps Sovereign Jiazi occasionally showed favoritism, making the mermaid resentful; or maybe it's pure jealousy—the mermaid envies the fox's superior talent…

The minds of high-grade ferocious beasts are no simpler than human hearts.

Especially creatures like the mermaid—cold-blooded and intelligent!

Along the coast of the Huaxia Federation, mermaids have a terrible reputation among beast tamer circles!

"Don't worry—if you're willing to pledge loyalty to me, once you walk out that door, you'll have the strength to defeat that nine-tailed fox outright!" Su Yang chuckled lowly. "As for Sovereign Jiazi's objections, ignore them. Your master—Sovereign Jiazi—is now merely my subordinate. She will obey my orders."

System prompt: "Ding~ Jin Lin the mermaid's favor toward the host has risen to 59. Mandatory Beast Training Contract Scroll available!"

Finally—it met the requirement to use the contract!
