Chapter 1205: Stupid Fox! I

Su Yang glanced at the mermaid's loyalty to Sovereign Jiazi, which had dropped to 58, then fell another two points.

He hadn't expected that one sentence to hurt the mermaid so badly.

He pulled out a mandatory pet cultivation contract scroll and placed it before the Jin Lin mermaid; after explaining its general function, it nodded at Su Yang and signed its name on the scroll—in Japanese script.

After signing its name, the mandatory pet cultivation contract scroll turned to silver light and merged into the Jin Lin mermaid's body.

"Ding~ Congratulations, host! You've used a mandatory pet cultivation contract scroll and bonded a desired pet!"

"Ding~ Your new pet gains one matching Mythic-level talent!"

"Ding~ Your new pet gains two Mythic-level resistance talents!"

Hearing the system prompts, Su Yang nodded in satisfaction.

Every time he bonded a new pet, the pet always gained one matching Mythic-level talent—that was an old rule.

The other two Mythic-level resistance talents were accumulated from previous missions.

One was from dismantling the Guo Series mission, the other from dismantling the Beast Emperor's Legion and killing the Beast Emperor, Hurricane Roarcloud Tiger; because Su Yang achieved perfect ratings in both missions, the system specially rewarded him with an optional Mythic-level resistance talent for all his pets, including future ones.

The Jin Lin mermaid met this condition.

【Name】: Jin Lin Mermaid

【Talents】:

1. Wave Power (Legendary); 2. Tsunami (Rare); 3. Frenzied Storm Tide (Rare); 4. Swift Swimming (Common); 5. Tide Sensing (Common); 6. Water Spout (Common).

【Growth Potential】: Sovereign-Rank High-Grade

【Strength Rank】: King-Rank Mid-Grade

【Experience】: —/—

【Attribute】: Water

【Loyalty】: Su Yang (59), Sovereign Jiazi (58)

【Skills】:

1. Tsunami; 2. Frenzied Storm Tide; 3. Water Spout; 4. Azure Prison; 5. Water Arrow; 6. Water Gun; 7. Water Barrier…

The Jin Lin mermaid's talents, among Sovereign-Rank potential beasts, could only be considered decent—still quite good.

For Sovereign Jiazi to possess one Mythic-potential nine-tailed fox and one Sovereign-Rank-potential Jin Lin mermaid, while keeping both at decent loyalty, was already supreme fortune plus extraordinary talent.

It was impossible to ask for more.

Of course, Su Yang would never compare himself to Sovereign Jiazi.

He knew his own situation well.

He was just a cheat!

"Little Fish, close your eyes, relax, and carefully sense what I'm giving you."

"Mm!"

Su Yang extended his index finger and lightly tapped the Jin Lin mermaid's forehead.

Then he activated the system to distribute the rewards.

"Ding~ Your pet, Jin Lin Mermaid, gains the Mythic-level talent—Heart of Water Element!"

Heart of Water Element (Mythic-level): This pet's water-based skill effects are greatly enhanced, its water-element resistance is greatly increased, and its internal water-energy recovery speed is greatly accelerated; in water environments, its water-skill effectiveness and water-energy recovery speed are further amplified!

"Ding~ Your pet, Jin Lin Mermaid, gains a Mythic-level talent; its growth potential is upgraded from Sovereign-Rank High-Grade to Sovereign-Rank Top-Grade!"

At this moment, the Jin Lin mermaid trembled all over.

Su Yang had merely tapped her forehead lightly, yet she felt vast torrents of water energy surging toward her, as if her body possessed a terrifying attraction to water energy.

Moreover, she discovered that as water energy flooded into her body, her internal water energy grew purer and more immense, like an ocean.

In an instant, a surge of pleasure from the depths of her soul rose up.

She felt as if, washed by the water energy, she had been reborn.

She had a premonition: she had broken free of her constraints and reached a higher level!

"Ah!"

The mermaid moaned, nearly losing her balance.

Then she fell into a warm embrace.

"This is only the beginning! Can't you even handle this?"

Su Yang's magnetic voice sounded in her ear.

The mermaid opened her eyes and gazed shyly at Su Yang.

Only then did she realize they were no longer at the Jingcheng guesthouse, but in an open wilderness.

She struggled to stand up from Su Yang's arms.

"After you gained the Heart of Water Element talent, you lost control—the surrounding water energy surged wildly, so I brought you out."

Su Yang didn't want to draw the Jingcheng city guard's attention.

He hated trouble!

"So that's called Heart of Water Element!"

"Yes, a Mythic-level talent that enhances your water skills, water-energy recovery, and water resistance—in water environments, your combat power increases further!" Su Yang nodded. "How does it feel?"

"It's… unprecedentedly good!"

The Jin Lin mermaid took a deep breath and felt the world had changed.

She felt she could now take on ten nine-tailed foxes!

At this moment, the Jin Lin mermaid's loyalty to Su Yang surged directly to nearly eighty.

Su Yang whispered, "Close your eyes again."

"Why?"

Su Yang couldn't help laughing: "You don't think it's over already, do you? I promised you the power to defeat the Nine-Tailed Fox head-on—and with your current strength, you still can't beat it!"

The mermaid's body trembled.

She hadn't expected Su Yang could still further enhance her!

She closed her eyes until she felt Su Yang's finger gently tapping her forehead again.

"Ding~ Your pet Jin Lin Mermaid gains a Mythic-tier talent—Fire Resistance!"

"Ding~ Your pet Jin Lin Mermaid gains a Mythic-tier talent—Spirit Resistance!"

Fire Resistance and Spirit Resistance aren't just against the Nine-Tailed Fox.

Most water-type pets have weak resistance to fire-based skills.

Spirit Resistance is both common and among the most eerie forms of attack—standard for Su Yang's pets.

"Ding~ Your pet Jin Lin Mermaid gains two Mythic-tier talent enhancements; her growth potential increases, rising from Sovereign-Rank Top-Grade to God-Rank Low-Grade!"

This time, Jin Lin Mermaid felt her life tier had undergone a qualitative leap.

That ethereal yet real sensation continuously struck her soul.

God-Rank?

Is this what General Su meant by God-Rank?

She stood before Su Yang, eyes closed, tears of excitement streaming down her cheeks.

Su Yang wiped the tears from her face with his thumb and said gently, "What's wrong? Shouldn't you be happy? Why cry?"

"I'm just excited! So excited!"

Even in her excitement, the mermaid still didn't open her eyes.

Su Yang smiled and said, "You can open your eyes now. Go bother that fox—she probably can't beat you."

Now Jin Lin Mermaid truly belonged to him.

Making his pet happy was, of course, the master's duty!

To make Jin Lin Mermaid happy, letting that fox suffer a little was only fair!

The mermaid opened her eyes and launched herself into Su Yang's arms.

Su Yang hesitated, then embraced her.

Mermaids are cold-blooded; she felt soft and cool, but that was fine.

The only thing slightly unpleasant was how hard her two shells were—they pressed uncomfortably against his chest.

By the time the mermaid let go, Su Yang's shirt was soaked through, faintly revealing his strong pectorals and abdominal muscles.
