Chapter 1282: Liu Mengyun Helps Su Yang with the Mission!

"Oh!"

Su Yang asked curiously, "You're not surprised by my decision?"

"Why would I be surprised?" Liu Mengyun asked. "If you really were going to abandon the Federation and choose to join some other faction in the Fierce Beasts Great World, then maybe *I* would be the one surprised."

Su Yang smiled and stroked Liu Mengyun's long white hair.

"Once we reach that world, I might also want to wander around and see the fierce beasts of those worlds for myself—but the Federation absolutely must be preserved!"

Su Yang thought of Seven Star City, of Great Xing City, of Changwu City, Mount Dajiao City… and of all his many comrades-in-arms, and of the many ordinary people who remained in his memory.

He could never allow the Federation's tens of millions of commoners to be reduced to slaves!

"I'll follow you!" Liu Mengyun said softly. "The matter of reinforcing the shelters in the major cities—I'll take it on next."

"Mm!"

Su Yang gave Liu Mengyun a fierce kiss.

Liu Mengyun slowly rose to her feet. Su Yang asked, puzzled, "Where are you going?"

"To wash up!"

"Together!"

"On second thought, forget it!"

"What's there to be shy about? We're an old married couple by now!"

……

The next day, Su Yang told Marshal Xu of Liu Mengyun's decision.

Marshal Xu was very pleased. "Good—since Liu Mengyun is willing to act, that couldn't be better. Though it may be some time before she can actually step in!"

"That's fine!"

"But if Liu Mengyun is going to be busy with other matters, can you handle everything over at the Northern Military Department?"

"Of course I can't handle it all!" Su Yang said hurriedly. "I think Marshal Xu could send someone to take over for me. For the recent period I need to strengthen my strength, and the affairs of the Northern Military Department—I probably won't be able to attend to both… Of course, when the Ice Snow Enchantress comes out to cause trouble again, I'll step in."

Marshal Xu thought for a moment and said, "General Su, if you really need combat urgently, perhaps you could go take a look at the Southwest Military Department!"

"What's going on with the Southwest Military Department?"

"Do you still remember that Beast Sovereign that was heading toward Tianzhu back then?"

"Of course I remember!"

"According to intelligence from the Southwest Military Department, recently along the border line between the Southwest Military Department and Tianzhu, large numbers of spider fierce beasts have appeared again, and they're no pushovers. The Southeast Military Department has already felt the pressure!" Marshal Xu said. "They've already sent people to investigate in depth, but no intelligence has come back lately."

"Understood!"
