Chapter 1409

"A king-level? How is that possible?" the lord of Luancheng stared at the dense, snake-like writhing plant-type ferocious beasts; "How could so many plant-type ferocious beasts with king-level potential appear?"

Xu Cheng said: "I don't know!"

When Yinshi asked him, he wanted to ask others too!

Lord Yinshi asked: "Can we form a pact with a beast-tamer?"

He didn't believe not a single beast-tamer in the city guard would be tempted by these plant-type ferocious beasts.

Although the combat power of plant-type ferocious beasts is weak, their growth potential can fully compensate for their lack of combat strength.

"No!" Xu Cheng shook his head. "Just now, several brothers tried—and none succeeded."

"Let me catch one and try—I bet it's just because they're incompetent!"

"Wait, my lord—if you move, I fear they'll launch another attack!"

"Uh…"

Yinshi hesitated.

If a king-level ferocious beast truly emerged, he couldn't handle it.

"But earlier, the two gold-level ones we caught are still alive—if you want, you can try with them!"

"Wait a bit!"

Yinshi thought for a moment and said.

Signing a pact with a gold-level one left him dissatisfied.

He didn't know that the offshoots of Hellblood Vine could never form a pact with any beast-tamer.

"Then what should we do now, my lord?"

"What else can we do?" Yinshi said. "Of course send someone to the Prefect's office to request reinforcements!"

Surrounded by these terrifying plant-type ferocious beasts, even though they hadn't attacked the city, Yinshi dared not rely on the beasts' "goodwill."

If you can't win, seeking aid is the best option.

Luanyun City and Xiong Cheng both fall under the jurisdiction of Green Cloud Commandery of the Phoenix Kingdom.

One commandery of the Phoenix Kingdom is equivalent to a province of the Huaxia Federation before the Great Catastrophe.

But after the Great Catastrophe, the Huaxia Federation suffered heavy losses, and its provincial regions were reorganized under eight military commands, fully taken over by the military.

"Understood!"

At midnight, several gold-level beast-tamers flew out of Luanyun City under cover of night.

Xue Li watched it all, but she had already instructed her offshoots: as long as the enemy didn't attack, they must not strike back.

Let them go seek reinforcements.

Su Yang had granted Xue Li freedom of action, lifting all restrictions.

As long as Xue Li didn't violate Su Yang's orders, she could do whatever she wanted.

Xue Li clearly knew her mission: attract the Phoenix Kingdom's attention as much as possible, kill as many Phoenix Kingdom beast-tamers as possible, and weaken the Phoenix Kingdom's strength.

A powerful, aggressively expansionist Phoenix Kingdom clearly went against the interests of the Huaxia Federation!

And what about Su Yang?

He was, of course, hiding in the Green Cloud Mountains, hunting ferocious beasts everywhere, and meanwhile helping the Hellblood Vine cultivate its subordinates.

Soon after, many Phoenix Kingdom cities near the Green Cloud Mountains received scattered remnants of the Fire Phoenix Legion.

The hundred-thousand-strong Fire Phoenix Legion, packed with elite beast-tamers, had only a handful escape alive.

Quickly, news spread across Green Cloud Commandery: the Fire Phoenix Legion had been ambushed by a mysterious figure deep in the Green Cloud Mountains and annihilated; Grand General Feng Yu had died defending his nation.

Countless people of Green Cloud Commandery wanted to flay that mysterious figure alive, tear out his tendons, and dismember him with five horses!

Immediately after, word spread rapidly that massive blood-red plant-type ferocious beasts were besieging cities across Green Cloud Commandery.

Many veteran soldiers of the Fire Phoenix Legion recognized those blood-red plant-type ferocious beasts—they were unmistakably linked to the mysterious figure who killed Grand General Feng Yu!

Because that mysterious figure had once commanded vast hordes of these blood-red beasts to attack them.

Fang Haixiang, the Prefect of Green Cloud Commandery and an emperor-level beast-tamer, immediately declared the commandery under martial law, ordering all city guards to remain within their walls and await reinforcements.

He also informed the Emperor of the Phoenix Kingdom of the Fire Phoenix Legion's destruction and begged the court for aid!

Fang Haixiang knew well: a warrior capable of defeating the Fire Phoenix Legion head-on and slaying Grand General Feng Yu was beyond his ability to handle.

Most importantly, the enemy was still lurking in the shadows!

Those blood-red plant-type ferocious beasts had surrounded eight cities, as if everywhere.

Even if he gathered his army, he didn't know where to strike!

Faced with fortified, evacuated cities, Xue Li didn't know what to do, so she went to find Su Yang.

"You can attack the cities!" Su Yang said. "Focus on hunting beast-tamers. After killing them, move to another city, keep advancing—don't wait for them."

Su Yang had already guessed what the Prefect of Green Cloud Commandery was waiting for.

But he had no time to waste on them.

Meanwhile, Chen Kui, lord of Xiong Cheng, remembered the spatial fusion points.

He suddenly realized that the elite warriors like General Yinyun who entered the other world hadn't contacted them in a long time.

Sending out experts to investigate, Xiong Cheng's forces discovered all patrol members dead, leaving only skeletons.

Entering the spatial fusion point, amid icy snowfields, Xiong Cheng's experts found the first wave of Phoenix Kingdom elites who had entered the other world.

These elites had all been murdered—their deaths identical to those of the patrol teams.

Most importantly, he found General Yinyun's clothing—and the words "Bai Long."

Bai Long!

Chen Kui's first thought: the Bai Long Society!

That underground organization founded by remnants of the Bai Long Kingdom!

Thinking of the mysterious white-robed powerhouse who had ambushed the Fire Phoenix Corps back then, Chen Kui immediately locked onto the Bai Long Society.

Because the Bai Long Society had motive, and very likely had the strength to match!

Of course, Chen Kui could not possibly suspect Shuilan Planet.

Because he knew the intelligence on Shuilan Planet — the strongest there was nothing more than an Imperial-grade Beast Tamer!

Shuilan Planet was just a small world; producing even an Imperial-grade Beast Tamer was already remarkable — how could it possibly give birth to that kind of Emperor-grade top powerhouse who could wipe out an entire corps single-handedly?

It was not that Qingluan Nation's intelligence was lacking — it could only be blamed on their intelligence being too outdated!

They simply could not imagine how wildly Su Yang's strength was skyrocketing!

Even the "imaginations" of the assembly of high-ranking officials of the Huaxia Federation could not keep up with the speed of Su Yang's strength growth!

While hunting fierce beasts, Su Yang would occasionally also enter nearby cities to learn about Qingluan Nation's situation.

Overall, with the advance of the Hell Blood Vine Flowers, the people of Qingluan Nation's Lüyun Prefecture were already in a state of panic.

Apart from Qingluan Nation, the cities near the Lüyun Mountain Range belonging to other countries had also begun to pull back, entering a wartime footing.

Su Yang heard this news and felt a bit helpless inside.

Back in the day, on Shuilan Planet, every time they fought against a beast disaster, he had always charged at the very front.

But now, he had to create a beast disaster!

One could only say it was the times, it was fate!
