Chapter 1528: The World Never Drops Buns from the Sky

After staying with Chen Huan for two days, Su Yang returned to Qingluan Nation.

Just back in Qingluan Nation, Su Yang heard some good news.

The system notified him that the Hellblood Vine Flower had upgraded to God-Rank Low-Grade.

Thus, Su Yang now possessed four God-Rank Low-Grade pet beasts: the Earthquake Bear, the Hellblood Vine, the Extinction Phoenix, and the Yinglong.

His strength far surpassed that of an ordinary God-Rank Beast Tamer from the Great Beast Tamer World!

After retrieving the Hellblood Vine Flower, just as Su Yang was about to go see Qin Xiaoxiao for some affection, he received another shocking system notification.

"Ding~ Your pet beast, the Extinction Phoenix, has regressed from God-Rank Low-Grade to Sovereign-Rank Top-Grade!"

Regressed?

Can a divine beast regress?

What does this mean?

Why did it regress without reason?

Wasn't it doing fine inside the Beast Tamer Space?

Su Yang's face darkened, and he released the Extinction Phoenix from the Beast Tamer Space.

He did sense a hint of resistance, but he was still her master!

Even if the pet beast didn't want to come out, he could still force it out.

The phoenix emerged, head bowed, too embarrassed to look at Su Yang.

This was unlike her usual personality!

"Phoenix, tell me what's going on?"

Su Yang asked directly.

He glanced at the Extinction Phoenix's attribute panel.

Wow!

Behind the Extinction Phoenix's name, it actually read "Regressing."

Su Yang didn't believe the Extinction Phoenix would regress without reason.

The only thing that comforted him was that its talent, skills, and growth potential had not regressed at all.

If talent, skills, and growth potential had regressed, it would be a disaster.

The Extinction Phoenix might be ruined.

The Extinction Phoenix fidgeted: "I was once tricked by a human Beast Tamer into swallowing a fruit!"

"What kind of fruit?"

"The humans called it the Lunhuiguo."

"What were the consequences?"

"My strength regressed…"

"Permanently?"

Su Yang remained calm, watching the Extinction Phoenix steadily.

"No!" the phoenix shook her head rapidly. "If it were permanent, I'd rather die… The Lunhuiguo causes both my strength and mind to regress simultaneously. When my strength drops to Black-Iron Low-Grade, my mind regresses to the level of a newborn human infant—I forget all memories, including my own identity, and retain only instinct!"

Su Yang fell silent.

He had never heard of the Lunhuiguo before.

Its effect was truly powerful… and strange!

The Extinction Phoenix took a deep breath and continued: "Once my strength and mind drop to their lowest point and all memories are lost, the Lunhuiguo's effect ends. I can then slowly grow again and return to my former peak strength."

"Can the memories be recovered?"

The Extinction Phoenix looked at Su Yang and whispered: "Yes—but only after restoring my original strength level."

Su Yang asked curiously: "What was your original strength?"

"God-Rank High-Grade!"

God-Rank High-Grade?

Su Yang hadn't expected that.

He remembered that when he first saw the Extinction Phoenix, she was God-Rank Low-Grade.

That was eight years ago, when he was thirteen!

"When you fought the Ten-Thousand-Whiskered Black Nightmare…"

The phoenix pursed her lips: "God-Rank High-Grade!"

Su Yang nodded. Many things now made sense to him.

"Those humans… weren't ordinary, were they?" Su Yang asked the phoenix. "They wanted to subdue you?"

Just from learning the Lunhuiguo's effect, Su Yang could guess the intent of that group.
